I'm glad to hear these suggestions. I never used a façade, mostly because I didn't want the same look as other DJ's. I did use the truss/TV setup. But I grew tired of that. Thank you for the challenge to move on to more modern set ups.
In my area brides & planners love facades. They like that it hides most of the cables and equipment. We often get compliments on the neatness of the setup in reviews. U definitely gave me some food for thought though.
Love you as always, bro! I have so many venues that I'd have trouble with a furniture-style booth like you use because of load-in issues. So having the ability to still use a lightweight wrap ("facade") helps me a ton. But I think the look of the plexi-booths with backlighting is definitely out.
Great points, I’ll keep all of this in mind once I get a bit bigger with my business. Now the facade thing, hhhmmm I just invested in one that’s a table as well and maaaaaannnn now I’m looking at it like “ what would Jason Jani do “😂😂😂. I would like to invest in one of those table furniture ones but would need to upgrade my vehicle and research prices. Thanks for the video and update on all of this. It’ll keep me up to date with services that aren’t getting much love anymore.
I'm in the same boat. Half the time I don't even bother with my facade and just use the skirted table provided to me. Right now I just can't justify throwing down all that money, even though the furniture does look really nice. I've been so used to getting in and out of a reception on one rock and roller cart, that the thought of lugging that big heavy case with me is also a little painful. On top of that, I'll need a bigger vehicle lol. That being said, I realize exactly where I stand. I can definitely see that the fancy furniture is the way the industry is moving, and I'm aware I look a little vanilla in comparison. Perhaps someday when I get a bigger car I'll consider going for the furniture
My facade is still looking good. Still having appreciations from people. I will keep it. I'm learning not to follow trends if it doesn't improve anything in my business or making me improve my DJing style. The look only is personal test.
HI! What are you using now instead of facades? Are you going to use any LED wall instead of TVs, or from now go without any animation, video? Thanks a lot!
For the past 8 or so years have used DJ furniture - more custom or bought DJ booth stuff. Facades for me and the team at SCE Event Group have been gone for a while, I added them to the video so we can finally lay them to rest.
I’m totally with you on the tv monitors mounted on trusses. I am so glad I never really used that technology but I use and love moving monograms in motion. Thanks for a great video and your wisdom is always appreciated.
@@Jason_Jani I went with the odyssey dj studio. Going to make a video on it since seemingly nobody has it. I like that it folds down into 2 compact tv bags (it came with a roadcase but its very heavy)
Agreed. Facade DJs look like bartender or hotel receptionists behind a counter. Also I have people telling me they enjoy seeing what the DJ is actually doing
Only thing with tv on the booth is that when people are dancing it cannot be seen. Like the idea of monogram projection. When I use to screens I play graphics and music videos. What are your thoughts on music videos.
For me, music videos are very 2004, and not something I ever do at weddings or higher end events. Dont get me wrong there is a time and a place for them, maybe a bar, or a vj routine, or event like corporate - but for me I rarely do them ever over the past 5 years.

I'm not too sure about the retirement plan for the facades, just yet. They have a good 3 years solid in my opinion. Never, used one but I still think they look cool. At least the ones I've seen... they have the TV mount in the front. They look cool, just never had a need for it.
Agreed on the TVs. I did it once last year...not for me. I'd like in front of the booth much better. I've never liked facades. I really like for the controller to be seen really well so guests can see what's happening. Years ago I used six space rack on the floor and a six foot table with a black fitted cloth and nothing on it except the computer monitor and the controller. It was actually super clean looking.
Totally agree on facades. But then again I never liked them even when they were considered in style. Why? Because it's like having a huge wall between you and your guests. It's a huge disconnect. You might as well be in another room.
I feel you on the façade but DJ furniture is really def on the want list but for other things most djs need to upgrade that is on the lowest list due to price. Great video though!!
I fully agree with the facade. I have never ever used one in front of my booth, and when I see them it looks like a really cheap setup to me. Now on the other hand I do use a facade in the background to hide my flight case that has all the audio equipment in it, but my table well I custom built it for my image and that’s what I like. The monograms you are talking about I have never used. I’ve been offering monograms for two years now, and it’s been 100% projector. Finally the TVs on the totems, ehhhh I’m not a huge fan of it, but that’s what I offer lol. I have serious loadin issues and a bigger table with a screen built in would not work for me at all. I basically have one venue I can use that at, but I only have two or three weddings there a year. Every where else involves stairs or a very narrow elevator.
I agree with you on the DJ Facade. Everyone have them, that is why I got rid of them. I still have the regular steel monograms, but I will invest into the motion monograms.
Facade come in handy. You just have know to use them properly. I have a control tower I but dragon board In back of me. Clients love it. I am not a fan of TVs on booth sounds a cheesy. I have my style if imagination
I've never like facades. I remember seeing them way back in the day even before I started djing and thinking they looked terrible. I never use them because I think it's more important people see you're actually doing something rather than cover it up with the facade. I'm a one man show and do smaller events and bar type djing, so I don't go crazy with DJ furniture, but a simple folding table and a fitted tablecloth has been serving me well over the years. Side note on facades: I always find it funny that big concerts and festivals don't give a flying F about cable management. I get why you need to for wedding and corporate stuff, the dichotomy is funny tho
The one I got isn’t the 4 panel thing it’s a metal table with a top shelf for the laptop but it’s also called a facade. Which is weird cuz it looks nothing like the other one
Thanks for sharing. TV moitors are nice, never had a desire to put them up in the air or travel with them, to each its own. DJ booths look nice with monitors in front. I like the facade because I can fold it, it's light, and it keeps quest at a distance. I don't take the same rig for every event so it makes it easier to cover what is set up behind it. Still a fan of the static monogram. Motion from projectors are nice but personally perfer motion of fixtures. As for the lights you are retiring, I am not familiar with them. I hear alot of this and that about DJing frankly I feel it's all about preference.
Unless I'm missing something it doesn't seem as if people got rid of the facade. They're just in front of them now with a separate table. It looks cool to highlight a DJ as a solo performer while mixing but it doesn't seem any easier and the facade is still there to "hide" all of the equipment.
I agree on monograms i dont sell the. Anyways The facade thing is a hit or miss what should be used in that place besides the tv thing...
