I love the subtle implications that Ichigo's hollow powers became more dominant as his anger and frustrations grew in the anime. 1. When he was trapped in Quilge's jail and everyone was dying. It shows Ichigo being able to physically see their reiatsu as they get snuffed out, similar to how Grimmjow uses Pesquisa. 2. As he was rushing towards Byakuya, his flash step gave off a boom sound similar to that of a Sonido. After which Mask de Masculine then made the remark that his reiatsu suddenly disappeared, a feat exclusive to the Sonido. 3. When Ichigo was about to fight Yhwach, the outburst of his reiatsu gave off a red color which is the trademark color of a hollow's reiatsu. Such a neat attention to detail. Props to Kubo and the animation team. ❤

Hell I’d say they were on the same page in this moment lol. In the anime after Ywach is surprised to see Blut Vene on Ichigo’s neck and he releases a Getsuga, you can hear his scream almost sounds like his hollow
I'm convinced no one understands Bleach better than you, it's so refreshing to have someone so passionate about a series while also being super relaxing and comfortable to listen to
Most people that read/watch Bleach don't understand it at all, it's like their IQ is too low to follow the narrative context. They don't understand how much more powerful base Aizen was than everyone but Yamamoto, they don't understand that Ulquiorra in his second release was the strongest Espada by far, they don't understand that Mugetsu Ichigo was his true hidden power that was unlocked, where he became one with his blade spirit, that it simply happens a second time in the TYBW arc. Despite these obvious occurrences, people have spent 20 years arguing about it. Bleach probably has the most inconsistent writing in the history of anime, I wouldn't be surprised if the Hell Arc has Ichigo appear weak once again.
All of that meant nothing at all in the grand scheme of of things. Ichigo is the biggest disappointment to this arc easily. You’re supposed to be everyone’s biggest hope on yet you not even strong enough to overcome ywach’s abilities to at least fight on equal standing.
Ichigo has a ton of memorable moments, but this is truly a stand-out. The artwork in this section of the story feels incredibly raw and full of emotion and really conveys what Ichigo is feeling. It is definitely worthy of being hailed as one of Bleach's best moments!
And then the enemy characters say that his reiatsu disappeared which inforces the fact that he in fact did use sonido instead of Shunpou, because Shunpou does not hide the reiatsu of the user where as Sonido does.
It's sooo funny to me that ichigo, after saving soul society twice (or I think even more right?), is still "some guy who hangs with us around a lot". It's even funnier that one of the strongest shinigami is still equivalent to what you call an intern.
The anime did this scene so well, truth be told, and it really sold to me how he was Soul Society's last hope because his rage felt like it mirrored that of Yamamoto's the previous episode. Thus, Ichigo getting thrown around by Ywach felt even more demoralizing than it did in the manga.

I honestly loved that the anime showed his Reiatsu with the red shade, a nice little callback to the ulquiorra fight. A nice way to show that he really meant business here and was fully calling upon his rage and anger.
Ichigo's anger was palpable here. Fierce, lethal, focused and controlled. Shazz's survival was surprising but in the grand scheme of things it was ultimately to everyone's benefit. He wiped out Central 46 while Kira saved the only true reformist among them. Now she and Shunsui have become the arbiters of real change while the remaining hardliners cower in their estates. Still, Ichigo in Soul Society's darkest hours was peak of his character even if more was to arrive.
Byakuya pleading to Ichigo for help will always be peak storytelling. There were some valid crashouts in this arc and i look forward to the third part coming.

Ichigo's rage was focused and disciplined, but he was still furious as can be. I love how he's barely holding back his explosive fury while also channeling it into this newer, focused rage. His Hollow powers and reiatsu even bleed through as his reiatsu was red and he used Sonido instead of shunpo. Basically, Ichigo has really grown since the Lost Agent arc, and I love it.
This is one of my favorite Ichigo moments. The way he's fighting for the Soul Society instead of Karakura Town is so good and such a satisfying point in his character arc, I think its on par with him saving Rukia from the Sokyoku. Ichigo feels like a legend among the other soul reapers and I'm a sucker for the protagonist being the last one to show up to a fight trope and I love how Kubo made it feel so hopeless which makes Ichigo's entrance all the better.
The only miss here is the sonido when he arrives rather than the flash step. Both a hint to him utilizing his multi-heritage and showing off the primal rage leaking out
I like the comparison between Ichigo’s anger in the arcs. Ichigo hurling Zangetsu to the ground in front of Ywbach was an epic “throwing down the gauntlet” moment. The anime made it even better with the sound of the blade crashing down.
If I'm not mistaken, in the anime he (subconsciously) uses sonido when he finally gets to the Soul Society. Which if so, I think is rather fitting. His Hollow powers always come out whenever he is truly desperate, and He WAS truly desperate to try and get there as fast as possible. It would also further the fact that White had always helped Ichigo out when he really needs it.
The Anime did the fight between Ichigo and Yhwach so damn well.. The red and black energy with the eyes lit red in the silhouette of his face just sends chills. Short lived but god damn any other person aside from Yhwach would have pissed their pants.
Then the quincies would have stood no chance with the exceptions of ywach, Aizen, haschwalth, and Gerard. I love that brave souls design from 2022 with beyond Bankai. I think that’s most likely what would happen if he could use mugetsu normally and if Ginjo never stole his fullbring.
One of the best things the anime did for the bit with Byakuya was the (obvious) inclusion of voice. When reading the manga, the voice in my head was a weak, stoic dying man in shock, with Byakuya'a usual stoic tone. But the voiceover totally knocked it out of the park. He wasn't mumbly, he wasn't in shock, he wasn't fading. He was a desperate, dying, scared man on the verge of sobbing, who had swallowed his pride, begging Ichigo, not just an ally, but a friend, to save his home and the people he loved.. Beautifully done.
I’m someone who’s only ever watched Bleach, I never read the manga. I’m sure had I read the manga there would be more occurrences, but the scene with Byakuya is one of two scenes that actually impacted me on an emotional level, to the point where I teared up, the other being the death of Ulquiorra.
Bleach was the first anime I got into after my Pokémon/Dragon Ball/Yu-Gi-Oh Era that exposed me to The Strongest Trapped in a Prison Realm trope, and this part intrigued me. It's a flipside to the Ulqiorra side-lining in The Hueco Mundo Arc, and it managed to feel fresh even after happening barely three arcs prior.
You know it's one thing I've never noticed until now Ichigo literally has a trademark fighting style he always takes a big hit where it collects a lot of smoke where you can't see him and we'll throw a Gensuga Tensho that's pretty much undodgeable.

Ichigo never had any beef with the Quincies. His conflict mostly laid with hollows. The sternritters were only as good as a distraction. He at the very beginning was out for Yhwach only
I didn’t notice it on my first watch but Ichigo in the anime used Sonido to get to Byakuya instead of Shunpo which is why everyone was wondering where Ichigo’s presence went.
Rage out of control is a wildfire, undirected and relatively weak at any 1 point despite the overall strength. Rage in control is a laser, focused and honed like the edge of a sword to deliver a decisive blow.
Damn man. That Ichigo/Byakuya scene is just *chef's kiss*. Byakuya REALLY should have died there. It would've easily been in my top 2 favorite anime moments of all time.
I bet money Kubo originally intended on Byakuya dying there, but his managers didn't want that to happen because it could affect the viewership with Byakuya fanbase.
It's such a shounen thing for the MC to fire up with rage and completely overwhelm the antagonist to avenge a fallen friend. But I loved the fact that that shit didnt slide in Bleach 😂😭
It was made so much cooler in the anime i believe. Just the sudden burst of every Quincy realizing someone powerful just arrived only for it to vanish instantly to only then cut to byakuya on the ground surrounded by nothing but the sound of the rain. Then cutting to yhwach saying they need to leave only for Tensa Zangetsu to crash down next to him.
Honestly would've loved to see Ichigo murk a few more Sternritter in a rage-fueled blirtzkrieg before reaching Yhwach. Also Tommo, if you read this, could you make a what if video for what would've happened if Gin, Tosen and Aizen were still part of the Gotei 13 during TYBW?

Would've been a nice prologue to the eventual realization of White Ichigo's true identity at the soul palace plus would've loved to see the Quincies terrified at the sight of this bane of hell badass hollow.

When I watched this in the anime, I was literally holding my breath the entire time. In my opinion, everything that happened in that episode was executed perfectly
I really like the theory where Ichigo is so angry that when he goes to where Bianca is and all of the Stern Rider loose track of him, it’s because he is unconsciously using the hollow flash step.
I think we too quickly forget, all shinigami were once humans. And even though the whole three world/soul king thing is kinda fucked up, it was ultimately done to protect humans and the world. Byakuya and the other members of Soul Society see themselves as protectors of the human world. He wants Ichigo to be able to live peacefully as a human and as a young boy.

I know that souls in the soul society reproduce and have kids just like normal people and have very long lives, but I’m not 100% on if you traced it back far enough if you would find the ultimate first progenitors of the families and lines in soul society were once human. We know at least that all souls that die and are purified enter the soul society in places like Rukongai, and some among those souls can become shinigami. So those ones would count as being most directly connected to humans. Rukia is the one shinigami we get definitive proof was actually a human before she entered the rukongai district. So, TLDR, a certain percentage definite are/were, and the jury’s still out on if EVENTUALLY if you tracked it back far enough you could have evidence that all shinigami are distantly related to someone who was at one point a purified human soul. I think also there ARE some actual OG shinigami like whatever/whoever Ichibe is, but those would be pretty rare and would only include a few individuals alive during the primordial age.
I'm not sure what scenes you still have on your list for this series, but one I'd love to hear you talk about is Orihime saying goodbye to Ichigo in the Arrancar arc. It might be the most sappy scene in Bleach, but the focus is on Orihime and she's all about emotions. It's one of my favourite moments because of how well it's written, a rare moment where it's essentially just human characters. No gotei, no hollows/arrancar/espada, no quincy. Ichigo is basically all of these, but he is first and foremost a human. These are the moments that make me super interested to see Kubo do just a slice of life manga, as he's a master of character writing.
When I really think about it, this is probably my favourite scene in the series. It's the culmination of years of story and character development for two of the best written characters in Bleach. The page of Ichigo standing in shadow while Byakuya begs him to save the Soul Society is my absolute favourite moment and I think it's the best art Kubo has done in the series.
When I watched this scene in the anime, I was breathless, then when he begins his extended fight with Ywatch i cackled with happiness seeing Ichigo go all out like that with the animation keeping up, such an incredible sequence
I thought it was really great how the anime extended he fight between Ichigo vs Yhwach, really felt like that rage boost had more kick in the anime while still showing Yhwach as being out of Ichigo's grasp at the time.
The sound design at every part of this scene was incredible. I love the physical copies but I think the colored version of this is even better but the dark lighting in the anime elevated it even higher #creed

I don't know if this has been addressed so far on the canon or on Klub outside; but what do you think has happened to Quincies after Yhwach's defeat (specifically after Ichigo's son destroyed Yhwach's remainments on the hell arc)? do you thing they lost their powers, or some portion of it? on this note, do you think that Uryuu taught Ichigo how to control some of his Quincy powers during the timeskip or that he may do so during the hell arc?

I think ichigos fight against ywatch at the end of cour 4 will bring us this mood back, and it will be very interesting to see how it changes when he realizes who he needs to ally himself with to take down the big threat.
What made me absolutely go mental was Ichigo using Sonido instead of Shunpo out of rage. Ichigo, the man who got traumatized by his hollow side enough by this point in the story where he had no clue White was his actual zanpakuto, was so wholly pissed off he actually went ahead and used Sonido. Of course, it was on instinct, but still he stopped supressing himself enough on that moment he used an actual hollow technique, something he had never properly done aside from, arguably, his black getsuga. If White had went "hey boss can I go HAM" Ichigo probably would've let him on that moment
I could see that going one of two ways. 1) ham? HAM? I want a mountain of pork so high the entire middle east collectively shudders. 2) Close your innocent eyes child, Daddy has something grim to do. Either way, I hope the buildup isn't a tease.
Hot take, but my favourite face in this sequence isn’t even ichigo’s. It’s when ywhach says “i did indeed” with a smirk. Like he’s saying “yeah, what you gonna do?”
I would had love to hear on the way to ywach ichigo 1 swiped a couple of quincies. Just to show how much of a difference ichigo being there wouod had made.
The only thing I would have added is some panels showing rescuing shinigami from the soldats with his speed. Always felt we should have seen more of Ichigo dominating the quincy foot soldiers before confronting Yhwach.
All Ik most of his bankai involves cutting through something or to absorb one power use against themselves I reckon it's just cut through universe itself and de powers the opponent 🤷
I've said it dozens of times now, but the fact his hollow mask never makes a reappearance always felt like a letdown. Imagine hearing him raging at Yhwach in that iconic flanger hollow voice.

Episode 7 of TYBW is without a doubt my favorite episode of bleach, ever. Ichigo was MAD.
The finale of batch one too since he gets his strength back, and then some.

One of the best things the anime did for the bit with Byakuya was the (obvious) inclusion of voice. When reading the manga, the voice in my head was a weak, stoic dying man in shock, with Byakuya'a usual stoic tone.
But the voiceover totally knocked it out of the park. He wasn't mumbly, he wasn't in shock, he wasn't fading. He was a desperate, dying, scared man on the verge of sobbing, who had swallowed his pride, begging Ichigo, not just an ally, but a friend, to save his home and the people he loved..

I’m someone who’s only ever watched Bleach, I never read the manga. I’m sure had I read the manga there would be more occurrences, but the scene with Byakuya is one of two scenes that actually impacted me on an emotional level, to the point where I teared up, the other being the death of Ulquiorra.
Bleach was the first anime I got into after my Pokémon/Dragon Ball/Yu-Gi-Oh Era that exposed me to The Strongest Trapped in a Prison Realm trope, and this part intrigued me. It's a flipside to the Ulqiorra side-lining in The Hueco Mundo Arc, and it managed to feel fresh even after happening barely three arcs prior.
You know it's one thing I've never noticed until now Ichigo literally has a trademark fighting style he always takes a big hit where it collects a lot of smoke where you can't see him and we'll throw a Gensuga Tensho that's pretty much undodgeable.
Honestly Shaz surviving can be beneficial since it can show that Ichigo was holding back just enough to end him but not kill him

Ichigo's anger against Yhwach was a great character moment, but he still got outmatched quite handily.
As expected since he was dealing with the Quincy king. If this were dangai ichigo, the outcome probably would have been much different.

Ichigo never had any beef with the Quincies. His conflict mostly laid with hollows. The sternritters were only as good as a distraction. He at the very beginning was out for Yhwach only
I didn’t notice it on my first watch but Ichigo in the anime used Sonido to get to Byakuya instead of Shunpo which is why everyone was wondering where Ichigo’s presence went.
Rage out of control is a wildfire, undirected and relatively weak at any 1 point despite the overall strength.
Rage in control is a laser, focused and honed like the edge of a sword to deliver a decisive blow.

Damn man. That Ichigo/Byakuya scene is just *chef's kiss*. Byakuya REALLY should have died there. It would've easily been in my top 2 favorite anime moments of all time.
I bet money Kubo originally intended on Byakuya dying there, but his managers didn't want that to happen because it could affect the viewership with Byakuya fanbase.
In my head cannon he does lol it’s a fitting end to his character and his death adds an insane amount of weight to the story
It's such a shounen thing for the MC to fire up with rage and completely overwhelm the antagonist to avenge a fallen friend. But I loved the fact that that shit didnt slide in Bleach 😂😭
It was made so much cooler in the anime i believe. Just the sudden burst of every Quincy realizing someone powerful just arrived only for it to vanish instantly to only then cut to byakuya on the ground surrounded by nothing but the sound of the rain. Then cutting to yhwach saying they need to leave only for Tensa Zangetsu to crash down next to him.
Honestly would've loved to see Ichigo murk a few more Sternritter in a rage-fueled blirtzkrieg before reaching Yhwach.
Also Tommo, if you read this, could you make a what if video for what would've happened if Gin, Tosen and Aizen were still part of the Gotei 13 during TYBW?
I really wanted ichigo to fight hashwalth but seeing him take out some of the much weaker sternritters while bloodlusted would have been just as cool.
@@gammafrost would've loved for him to do it as White/full Hollowfication mode except this time he would consciously be letting White Ichigo (real Zangetsu) take over as "king" to enact his rage and protect what he wants to protect. Would've been a nice prologue to the eventual realization of White Ichigo's true identity at the soul palace plus would've loved to see the Quincies terrified at the sight of this bane of hell badass hollow.

I think we too quickly forget, all shinigami were once humans. And even though the whole three world/soul king thing is kinda fucked up, it was ultimately done to protect humans and the world. Byakuya and the other members of Soul Society see themselves as protectors of the human world. He wants Ichigo to be able to live peacefully as a human and as a young boy.
Were they? I thought most Shinigami were born in Soul Society, like the Nobles.
@@SeiyaTempest Actually, it’s not completely clear. I know that souls in the soul society reproduce and have kids just like normal people and have very long lives, but I’m not 100% on if you traced it back far enough if you would find the ultimate first progenitors of the families and lines in soul society were once human.
We know at least that all souls that die and are purified enter the soul society in places like Rukongai, and some among those souls can become shinigami. So those ones would count as being most directly connected to humans. Rukia is the one shinigami we get definitive proof was actually a human before she entered the rukongai district.
So, TLDR, a certain percentage definite are/were, and the jury’s still out on if EVENTUALLY if you tracked it back far enough you could have evidence that all shinigami are distantly related to someone who was at one point a purified human soul. I think also there ARE some actual OG shinigami like whatever/whoever Ichibe is, but those would be pretty rare and would only include a few individuals alive during the primordial age.
I'm not sure what scenes you still have on your list for this series, but one I'd love to hear you talk about is Orihime saying goodbye to Ichigo in the Arrancar arc. It might be the most sappy scene in Bleach, but the focus is on Orihime and she's all about emotions. It's one of my favourite moments because of how well it's written, a rare moment where it's essentially just human characters. No gotei, no hollows/arrancar/espada, no quincy. Ichigo is basically all of these, but he is first and foremost a human. These are the moments that make me super interested to see Kubo do just a slice of life manga, as he's a master of character writing.
When I really think about it, this is probably my favourite scene in the series. It's the culmination of years of story and character development for two of the best written characters in Bleach. The page of Ichigo standing in shadow while Byakuya begs him to save the Soul Society is my absolute favourite moment and I think it's the best art Kubo has done in the series.

When I watched this scene in the anime, I was breathless, then when he begins his extended fight with Ywatch i cackled with happiness seeing Ichigo go all out like that with the animation keeping up, such an incredible sequence
I thought it was really great how the anime extended he fight between Ichigo vs Yhwach, really felt like that rage boost had more kick in the anime while still showing Yhwach as being out of Ichigo's grasp at the time.

I think ichigos fight against ywatch at the end of cour 4 will bring us this mood back, and it will be very interesting to see how it changes when he realizes who he needs to ally himself with to take down the big threat.
What made me absolutely go mental was Ichigo using Sonido instead of Shunpo out of rage. Ichigo, the man who got traumatized by his hollow side enough by this point in the story where he had no clue White was his actual zanpakuto, was so wholly pissed off he actually went ahead and used Sonido. Of course, it was on instinct, but still he stopped supressing himself enough on that moment he used an actual hollow technique, something he had never properly done aside from, arguably, his black getsuga. If White had went "hey boss can I go HAM" Ichigo probably would've let him on that moment
I could see that going one of two ways.
1) ham? HAM? I want a mountain of pork so high the entire middle east collectively shudders.

The only thing I would have added is some panels showing rescuing shinigami from the soldats with his speed. Always felt we should have seen more of Ichigo dominating the quincy foot soldiers before confronting Yhwach.
