I feel your pain house hunting. My husband and I are getting older and looking to downsize and move from our rural setting into a small town. So far we just cannot find what we want. Good luck in your search.

I think the last house would be perfect for your business if you used the two bedroom side of the house for your u-tube sales production in one bedroom and storage o f inventory in the other. Just a thought.

One I didn't like the entrance. Two small bedrooms. Three lots of little turns small master bath. Four was different. Small garage but large open kitchen. I wasn't taken by any of them. I didn't think they were you.😊

I was a real estate appraiser for 17 years and I’ve seen a lot of homes. I really didn’t care for any of the ones she showed you. They didn’t scream Tammy and David live here. The right home will come along, just don’t settle. You two work well together in your search. That’s refreshing. ♥️♥️

I'm finding this fascinating. Houses in the US are so-o-o different from in the UK. Size, look, vibe, plot. From what I'm used to, anyway. I don't know what your budget is... Out of interest, I just Googled 'average house price Texas'... A little under $310k, apparently...
All I can say is, that's less than half the current value of my little house in the south-east of England (a very expensive part of the country 😬)... Which - from what I could tell - is a fraction of the size of the homes you were looking at. It's a funny old world...!
I hope you find something you love. I agree that character and quirkiness are appealing factors in a home! The right one for you is out there, just waiting... ❤

I liked 3 ok, Lots of cabinets plus extra cabinets in laundry room. The office space area looked nice. 😊 these open concept houses were all the rage but I’m with you Tammy I like lots of wall space for placing furniture and wall decor.
    House 4. Nice but no.
Yes, those online descriptions are misleading, I know you will find THE ONE! Just hang in there!
I’m glad to see you’re making progress. Praying for you and your family.

Thanks for taking us along on your adventure. I liked the 4th house out of all of them. It was super cool. Would be great with the guest house to have David's office and a TH-cam room in there, so basically having work at home but not taking it home (in the main part of the house) with you. Could you share what your wish list is?? It's funny, in my 20's I managed a real estate company. The realtors always had this saying (and don't take it wrong), but the saying is "Buyers are liars." Just meaning they can be adamant about wanting certain things, but until you are out in the actual houses and seeing the layout and how a house might really function, you don't know for sure. Like some folks insisting they "have to" have something when in reality they don't necessarily want that or need that when they see it in person. It's an interesting adventure. You're lucky the home prices in Texas are generally lower than where I live. I don't know you price range, but just a 1800 sq ft townhouse duplex here is on the low side $400K. If you want a 2,000 sq ft you're easily paying 750K and up.

Thanks for taking us along. When we purchased our home, it looked larger when empty. Large windows give you less privacy and more expensive to replace, and its hard to place furniture with windows in the way. Having a new roof is a plus as roofs cost 20 to 30 thousand to replace now. We have a 1960 bungalow. Had to replace a lot. I liked the 3 rd ones kitchen and patio. You can decorate a patio With MCM decor. You can make it a sun room. But remember you can make any house your home. The window in the last one concern me. I would have tbe owners address that in your contract with them. Have them replaced. The moisture can cause a mold issue. A lot of work every day to wipe them down. Maybe take a look at a new build, they have creative financing options. Less maintenance and less worry. What ever you pic, try not to look back, No house will be exactly the same as before, it is a new chapter in your life. You are going to have so much fun when you finally find your new home.

Hey, guys! My husband and I relocated for retirement to S.C. a year and a half ago. My advice to you is to take your time. We looked up hundreds online. Stay away from the big home builders such as Horton, Lennar or others in your area when buying a newer home. One sign of a not-so-great builder is when there is no or little trim on the windows. It's usually a sign of cutting corners. Check out reviews. Lots of reviews! And we personally do not care for HOAs. Be careful if considering a house with an HOA. I'm sure you know a lot about these tips already. And a huge help is a really good realtor, not one that merely gives you a tour of the property. Enlist a realtor that will point out flaws and possible repairs. And always get an inspection, even on a brand new house. Now go have fun and good luck! ❤ Happy you are well.

I’m commenting as I watch through the video. 1st house:👎
    2nd house: Much better!
3rd house: Love the brick! Like the archways, too! Nice home! Fancy! 😊
4th house: All that wood, screams “high maintenance” but, far more interesting, for sure. One car garage??? Ahhhh
And of course I love mid century. But, nah!
Nope! House number 3 out of these four choices would be best.

I don’t like the new ones. The floors sound so hollow and plastic-y and the layouts feel like apartments. Also I hate hollow white interior doors. And why do people paint their walls gray? Maybe you could find somethng built in the 60’s. Construction was so solid back then. After that it all went downhill, IMO!

  • @elissarn8529
    @elissarn8529 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    In my humble opinion:
As you get older, you'll want a walk in shower and first floor bedroom and bathroom.
Jack Jack would love a big, fenced-in yard.
If you don't cook a lot, no need for a huge kitchen. I raised 4 kids in a small 1930's home with a tiny kitchen, barely any counter space, and few cabinets. Also no dishwasher. Think Scott's kitchen! And I cooked almost every day!
More than one bathroom is great. I have only one!
Lots of closets are wonderful. I have 1 in my whole house!
Avoid HOA's. i know people who have dealt with them. Not good.
Get what you can afford to make payments on through retirement, in case that happens.
You will know when you find your new home. You will just know!!
