    Ringing church bells is amazing. My grandfather used to ring church bells and I would go with him as a kid. When stopping the bell he would be pulled up in the tower of the church. It was awesome.

    And the czech word at the end is bell - zvon, bell - zvon

      The pronunciation is pretty straightforward: Zvaughn. The only difference is that instead of long "augh" part you say it in short way

    When I saw the number 9801, I recognized it as a perfect square. 99 x 99 = 9801
    What? There's no lesson at the end to teach us how to say the word, "Bell" in Czech or something like it? (Granted, I still wish the lesson was at the start, and that the word would get used a few times during the video, so we would actually learn it from the reinforced usage. I never remember the words because they are at the end and not used.)

      Of course, reinforcing the language lesson throughout the video could require him to pick out the word before filming the overall video, whereas he can pick a word much later the way it's done now. But I do think it would work better to present it earlier, use the word in the video a few times, followed by the English word for it, and many of us would pick up a few words in a few weeks.

      The only issue here is that the basic noun is ZVON, but, because of Czech grammar, Janek would be using tons of different forms of the word, which would only confuse everyone.

    • @pavelgrulich2989
      @pavelgrulich2989 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Beckford4000 True, it's also used as a verb, because the noun is the root meaning of the word ring, which is zvonit, so the word ring practically doesn't exist in Czech. You can make a bell bell (=ring a bell, rozezvonit zvon), bell on a bell (=ring a bell, zvonit na zvon) or even say the phone's ringing/belling (telefon zvoní). Also different variants of the word bell may be confusing, because if you say zvon, you always mean these big(ish) cast iron bells, but for a doorbell or an elevator bell you say zvonek (little bell). And for these little miniatures that you ring during Christmas (or whenever else) you use zvoneček ("the littlest bell"). I kind of pity foreigners who are trying to learn Czech, I personally would give up right away. Legend has it that Czech is the second most difficult language to learn, right after Chinese. :D

    I've been ringing bells for 15 years, it's an amazing feeling. Our 2 bells are much smaller, 1000kg and 1600kg, but that's still really big, they survived the war - the smaller is from 1550, the bigger 1603 I think. Then there's the bell Zikmund in the St. Vitus cathedral, which weighs over 16 tons and it has the most wonderful sound.

    Hello, I leave this comment as an idea for a video. This Sunday my plane leaves for Prague and what is most difficult for me is choosing what type of clothes to wear, since I do not know exactly the climate of the country and I am personally used to the heat of Spain. So if you could talk about the different climates, surely many people would appreciate it. Otherwise, the video is excellent as always and your channel helped me in preparing for this trip so thank you very much and keep it up.

      Hi, it's warm here. 20 to 35 degrees Celsius. Since it's summer. But, it can happen that it will be cloudy and rainy during the day. It can happen that storms come and Prague is screwed. Rivers overflow their banks and you have to drive boats.
      So I recommend taking shorts, a raincoat and a life ring.

    On pedestrian walkings over the street the light turn really fast. Can you still cross if it's red after you started to walk?
