Its rather that they dont understand themselves. I can tell right off that the bridge and clock do not look interesting to me at all. Im sure there are dozens of things I could find in Prague which would interest me though. So instead of going to landmarks just to cross them off some bucket list and then complaining that I didnt have fun, I would find stuff which I think I would enjoy.
A word about the bridge: The first time I visited Prague, I stayed at a small hotel within walking distance of the bridge, in mid-summer. Coming from a much different time zone, I was generally wide awake in the middle of the night, so I would sometimes walk over to the bridge, and even then there was always something going on - street musicians performing, young couples out on dates, elderly tourists taking in the sights, people just strolling around enjoying the view. It was awesome.
Honest Opinion - I was not overly impressed with Astronomical Clock and the Charles Bridge when I crossed it the first time. But the soul of Prague is not in these attractions..it's the city overall, the friendly people, watching world flow by while you overlook The Charles Bridge sipping on lovely Czech beer. It's the ease with which you can move around the city, the views of the city you get from vantage points, the bylanes and cobblestoned paths you love to get lost in. For me it's the best city I have been to ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So far Prague is one of the best capitals in Europe for me. Capital cities usually feel suffocating and too fast-paced but I found Prague quite relaxing

Fortunate enough to have been to sixteen different countries, and many great cities. Prague is among the greatest cities that I’ve ever seen. PARIS and QUEBEC CITY are also at the top tier. NYC, BUDAPEST, SAN FRANCISCO, BOSTON, AMSTERDAM, RIGA, MONTREAL all AWESOME, but PRAGUE, PARIS, and QUEBEC CITY are my top three. I live near NYC, so perhaps if I were a tourist, it would rank in the top tier.
To be fair, when I went with my school back in the day the astronomical clock didn't really blow us away either. But that's probably because we were young adults forced to go watch it without much explained. And because of the hangover. Charles Bridge was a little scary because our guide warned us about the pickpockets and we kinda wanted to go away of the crowds at that point. The Prague castle was fun, some were indeed annoyed by the steps, but it felt really good when we got up. Loved the city tho, it's absolutely beautiful. Still on the list to revisit some day.
I’m surprised that nobody gave 1* review with “Decent, but Zeman lives there” on the castle. 😂😂 But honestly, I’m Prague born myself and when I do tours for my foreigner friends, I never bother taking them inside the Prague castle since Zeman came to power and we only check out the front and move - the goddamn security checks make it not worth anymore unless you plan on spending money on all the entrance fees (which I refuse and don’t recommend to my friends as there’s many cool places to be seen for free). So I actually get the 1* reviews on that one. Before Zeman it used to be cool place to visit so hopefully it improves when he’s finally gone.
I think I've fallen in love with Janek and Honza. They're super-awesome. At least 1000 stars review! The most memorable part of the Charles Bridge experience for me was a really old guy, who was probably old when Charles IV was young. He always rebuked the tourists if they took photos of him without paying. And the most amazing thing about him, is that years before my visit, a colleague had told me about an old man on a bridge in Prague who swore at the tourists. It was just like a déjá vu. I wonder if he's still there. Anyway, I really like your city... it's kind of spooky and moody and gothic; and Czech people I met were really ace. Good luck guys! ❤❤
Prague is a beautiful amazing city. I had a wonderful time there drinking beers, eating amazing food, walking the old historical streets and having good time with my friends. No one scammed us. Charles bridge is magnificent. If you think going to Prague, do it you wont be sorry.👌 I ❤️ Czech Republic.

Since I'm a musician, I knew about Vyšehrad from Smetana, and made a point of visiting it twice (across nine trips). The walk from the metro is pleasant, and the grounds, including the famous cemetery, are impressive.
Prague was the first country i visited in europe. I love Prague. Your videos was really a big help for us, we manage to enjoy Prague and avoid those tourist traps.Thank you!
Fellas, love all the videos. I hope to use them to honestly guide me around Prague in May when I come for a college trip IF all goes well with the world in 2022.
I just left Prague a day ago and it is a very nice place thanks for some of the food recommendations they were very good! I will say it was sad not to see the full beauty of the city with all the trees vibrant green but I'll be back one day to see!
Lol all countries should take a basic IQ test before letting in american tourists. Sueing the city for restoration of an historical building!! Just think about it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You...you do notice a good percentage of the reviews had to be translated right? That's assuming you are assuming American tourists are just people from the United States and are not thinking about Canada, Mexico and all of South America as well. Which I think you are. United States tourists mainly know English as their first language. Put those two together.
"You can't please all of the people all of the time" - forgotten who said that but I think it might have been an American in the days when people who could write did so with pen and paper not phones. I visited Prague in 2015 for a week and loved the city but it is FULL of tourists!
The posts you quoted show that too many people who, despite of being brainless, became literate (which is actually good) make an unnecessary effort to write (which is bad).
Clockmaker Mikuláš Kadaň and astronomer Jan Šindel in medieval Prague: "This is gonna be a great tourist trap! Just wait for 600 years! We may think that the sun is revolving around the earth, but those tourists will believe that the whole world is revolving around them actually"
I don't know how this video ended up on my TH-cam. I've never been to Prague or the Czech Republic. With that being said, Prague is indeed a city I would love to visit and upon watching more of your videos, I believe the knowledge you're providing will be helpful. I'm an American and also a US Army Veteran. My travel history outside of the US, consists of the following counties: United States, Canada, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. I'm not including countries where I changed aircraft because I don't believe that actually counts as having visited the country I changed aircraft. Anyways, I'd love to visit Eastern Europe. Hopefully here in about a year, I'll have enough money together for my daughter and I to spend 6 weeks traveling Europe. Thank you for the videos you make! They help me know important facts about the places I want to visit!
Definitely plan to go to Prague one day thanks to your videos. It will be really nice to have the knowledge you guys convey at my disposal to avoid scams, generally overpaying, and overrated tourist traps. 100% still going to the castle though.
04:03 clarification, if you renovate a historical building, you're making it into something inherently different, whereas "restoring" means bringing said building closer to its original state
It's a bit hard to say what exactly happened to the Old Town Hall, between those two options, because a good chunk of it was destroyed entirely, and never rebuilt (that empty space behind it used not to be empty, and you can still see the irregular wall where it got destroyed.)
This video was too entertaining, I give it 1 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Oh and don’t go to the Patreon, the mini guides are waaaaaaaaay to interesting, makes you want to visit Prague.
I didn't like Prague, yes it's beautiful but so are many cities. What left a sour taste in my mouth is the constant scams and tricks that are seemingly condoned by the authorities. I broke away from my wife to go back to our hotel and was accosted 20 times by women "needing directions", or wanting to show me the "cool new bar". Waiting for a pre-booked taxi one morning no fewer than five "taxis" claimed to be ours. Yes every city has this going on but I've never seen it to such a scale anywhere else.
It has been a number of years since we were last in Prague. From these videos I it seems the scamming has mushroomed over the years. In my experience the worse place for scams was Barcelona. I think the authorities are being paid off and/or are too lazy to do anything. Seeing the same people are making their living day by day with the same schemes, the activity cannot be unnoticed.
Here's a fun thing to do: in your home town, choose a place you know to be good (restaurant/cafe/attraction) and read the 1 star reviews. They're usually so stupid they're funny
i remember seeing the astronomical clock in 2011 when I visited. It was awesome! My favorite thing was going out and walking around late at night... I remember there was a fancy gathering at Symphony Orchestra my only regret was not getting tickets / dressing up and going
I think all those guys who gave 1 star should really get a life. I mean it's so ridiculous comments and no logic. Prague is beautiful city and the sites are great. I am proud and blessed to live in this beautiful city 😊
The currency is much nicer than euros. Take some home as memorial, it has kings and literates, plus historical monuments on them. Not like euros, which do not have anything existing on them.
I have visited Prague a lot in my life, i even lived there for 6 months (like 10 years ago). I saw you 2 months ago, i was doing some practice vloggin on Karluv most when you passed me.
It's been several years since my visit, ahh I miss it. The clock is actually pretty neat, I laughed that people were upset over it being just a clock.
My best friends are from Prague, so I love the place and it’s like my second home and visit it every year.Greetings from London.🤗
Prague is a beautiful amazing city. I had a wonderful time there drinking beers, eating amazing food, walking the old historical streets and having good time with my friends. No one scammed us. Charles bridge is magnificent. If you think going to Prague, do it you wont be sorry.👌
I ❤️ Czech Republic.
`bring it on we are ready` Honest guide is now the city of Prague. Love it
There has to be a part 2! I really enjoyed this
In Prague right now.. autumn is truly beautiful here.. love all your videos and they helped us enjoy our time here..
I gave this video a 1-star rating.. too crowded
😆
Jste nejlepší a srdečně děkuji za to, co děláte pro nás! A co se týče Prahy - ta je matkou měst! Miluju ji!
these people just doesnt know how to appreciate history..happy to say our national hero(JOSE RIZAL) once described Prague as one of the most beautiful places he had been to...i hope you guys can find his monument in Prague..so yeah he loves Prague..
We are in Prague the weekend and have loved our time in your city! Thank you for your awesome videos!
I love Prague, I visit almost every summer! You have a beautiful city and you make excellent videos! Keep up the good work my friends! *5 from Greece! ;)
Ive just visited your city !dont get me wrong is a beautiful city but after watching all your videos i got to say you make it more beautiful! You promote the city very well
I agree. Prague is a lovely city and one of the best European cities!
Since I'm a musician, I knew about Vyšehrad from Smetana, and made a point of visiting it twice (across nine trips). The walk from the metro is pleasant, and the grounds, including the famous cemetery, are impressive.
Jsem čech a tímhle tím kanále jsi mně naučil víc anglicky Děkuji
Mě* :-)
Prague was the first country i visited in europe. I love Prague. Your videos was really a big help for us, we manage to enjoy Prague and avoid those tourist traps.Thank you!
i was in Paris, Antwerpen, Amsterdam, Prague, Carlo vivari, Berlin, Warszav but it found Prague the most beautyfull of them all
This had me lughing like a stand up show! please do more of these!!!!
These reviews have the same energy of "This restaurant serves food!!! One star!!!"
These two guys made me aware and eager to visit Czech !
How can be these sweet & honest people not be from the best city in the world! 🤞🏼
Prague is incredible! Guess the only time some people show any kind of culture is when they eat yogurt 🤗 Sad really.
😄
Prague is a great city and the best beer 🍺
Going to Prague with my friend next year, you guys helped us make the decision.
"and we will steal a self moving wagon"
Prague is always my first choice of places to go to. It is the most beautiful city in Europe.
Also, since I've not visited since '06, I appreciated the clear views of the popular spots, especially the bridge.
This was a fun entertaining video. 1 star.
Definitely plan to go to Prague one day thanks to your videos. It will be really nice to have the knowledge you guys convey at my disposal to avoid scams, generally overpaying, and overrated tourist traps. 100% still going to the castle though.
I have been in Prague 2 months now. I came and I keep extending. It's amazing! Beautiful indeed! Paris has nothing on this city.
The clock is a lot older than the United States....just think about that when you see it and find it "underwhelming".
To some, a McDonalds is fine architecture, but getting old.
Never mind the United States, it's older than Columbus.
You are the perfect Guide for this overwhelming City, every visit is an Highlight, I will be back, Tekujem from Rakuska
This video was too entertaining, I give it 1 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oh and don’t go to the Patreon, the mini guides are waaaaaaaaay to interesting, makes you want to visit Prague.
I visited Prague and I like it and your clock video helped me to explain to my peoples. Thank You 😊
I didn't like Prague, yes it's beautiful but so are many cities.
They're usually so stupid they're funny
guy at 2:50 knows the answer to the problem of the ship of theseus
i remember seeing the astronomical clock in 2011 when I visited.
The worst is not having Euros...and we are exposed to SCAMS 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for YOURS ADVICES !💪💪💪
Love Praha
Love Yours Works
And Miss YOURS Contry 👍👍👍
The currency is much nicer than euros. Take some home as memorial, it has kings and literates, plus historical monuments on them. Not like euros, which do not have anything existing on them.
@@Pyrochemik007 Wrong...Each country that has euro as currency have their particular monuments on their coins...Collectors will have a blast...
I love your sense of humour.
Good job guys!
almost 1 MILLION subs :D
KEEP IT UP GUYS ;)
I have visited Prague a lot in my life, i even lived there for 6 months (like 10 years ago).
I saw you 2 months ago, i was doing some practice vloggin on Karluv most when you passed me. I said something and you smiled.
I regret that i didn't have the guts to approach you and ask if you wanted to talk and drink a beer together. Next time i see you i won't hesitate :P
Ps great videos, thank you, your information and advice helped me a couple of times allready.
