    HELLO LOVELY VIEWERS! Important Note:
If you have questions about this recipe, you can post it here for the community to answer. But if you want to ask me, please get in touch via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or my website (all links are in the description above). If you leave questions in the comments I may not see them due to the large volume of comments I receive across the hundreds of videos on this channel.
Also, before sending on any questions be sure to read the written recipe on the website as I often add extra tips and notes not covered in the video.
    Thank you for watching!

instead of using Saran Wrap you can also barely wet your hands and add a tiny bit of salt to your poulm so that way the rice wont stick to your hands but not to much water or your rice will get souge

I can’t. Nevermind that I learned basic shapes in Kinder-garden; I can not form a rice triangle to save my life. So I bought 2 molds! I Love making Onigiri now! 🍙

My adopted 'ohana (family) on Kaua'i makes their own ume from plums grown high in the mountains, picked small and later picked larger. Ume keep for 5 years refrigerated. The small ones are not uncommon at restaurants, but their large ones they call their "Kaua'i Gold" -- delicious! I have some of both.

My mother is Thai and Lao, and I live in Laos and work in Thailand.. we always wash/polish our rice before putting it in the rice pot, so that didn't seem very different from how we prepare our rice lol. Always.

Using the top end of the chop stick is odd because their hands have been on it, so there's very little difference sanitation wise using either end, love your videos Pailin!

Years ago I stopped *washing* my rice in the rice pot.
I realized it was comparable to rubbing sand in my nice non-stick rice pot. I was taking special care to wash the pot with special scrubbers for non-stick, yet rubbing all this rice in it, and I saw the coating eventually being worn down.
One time, while watching Martha Stewart, I saw her washing/rinsing rice in a chinois en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinois, and I never turned back.

i just made these, its was really fun, I used sticky rice, (I know I know) because it was around, and before I became committed I wanted to try with this, and not buy it unless I knew I would use it. It turned out pretty good, I think, and next time Ill definatley use nori and japanese Haiga rice. (for filling I made egg-tomatoe omlet, as in I made some eggs with tomatoes on top, and no oil.)

Furikake started appearing in bigger supermarkets, but it's crazy expensive, so I just make my own haha.
We only have one type of miso, unless we search online. There's still a lot of japanese things I need to try, umeboshi is one of them. I love drinking umeshu, so I think umeboshi would be right in my alley.
Btw I highly recommend crushing up some chips on top of rice as furikake :D it's delicious.

If you microwave leftover brown rice of any kind, it get really sticky just like medium grain white rice. Just be careful not to get it too dry. I have been known to make rice rolls of that.
