    Love it. Nothing less than spectacular... I have similar experiences with my Bacchetta Corsa A70. The music is most appropriate LOL.

    Nice ride and good angle on the camera at 3:01 the overweight dude (looked like a bear on a bike) with the $8000 bike with aero bars and wheels blowing by you. You can easily tell who the better riders are when they easily blow by you. Only a few fit riders riding in team mode blew by. Great footage showing the low wind advantage of being lower. Did not see anyone riding a full Time trial road bike would be entertaining to see the difference at 50 km hr ( with low wind).

    I have Nazca Fuego (20"/26") with MTB chain rings in front. I never had issues with any steep climbs so far. However I'd recommend marc alexi to test drive recumbent whenever possible as other people's comments aren't event remotely as good as to experiencing recumbent by yourself.
    When it comes to low speeds (5km/h) it is not unstable after you get some experience. However you need to be extra careful with potholes and large bumps because small front wheel often tries to change direction if it can't climb over the pavement edging. All kinds of sudden changes in elevation (bumps and holes) shock recumbent a lot if the tires are small.

      Yep, I have a Flevobike with both tires @ 20" and had a crash to teach me the hard way that speeding only works on smooth surface. Also, speedy turns on sand, and wet surface are very dangerous.

    What brand/make of bike. I’m looking at a few different ones at the moment and not quite sure what to go for.

      I was riding a Bacchetta ca2, on the little faster side the m5 but more of a straight line bike

    I ride recumbent for the comfort and speed , but I have a touring recumbent and comfort is far more important than speed on a tour. On occasion even I pass roadies , they just are not aware that I am racing and they are not.

    Less pain means kept going. So the fastest bike is Recumbent. Prostate Cancer associated with a wrong frame geometry makes recumbent the fastest to reach the milk and honey land.

    The Nazca Fuego (20"/26") was bought in the US ? Never have seen one in this country before. The blazing speed was evident as I saw you pass another recumbent but his motor was not as good as yours ;) !

      I am 55, almost at a Cat 3 W/kg power level and own almost all of the Strava KOMs longer than 10km on my usual route. A trio of triathletes on their Shivs, Cervelo P5, and Canyon working together routinely swap KOMs with me, but it takes a team of them to do so. Another triathlete who is very fast on his Cervelo P5/6 (HED Jet 9/Disc) has joined the mix this year, and it takes him almost 300 watts to match my speeds that I can do with only 210-215 watts. My FTP is only about 230 watts now, but can you imagine what a rider with a 300 watt FTP could do on a fast recumbent? That would be sick.

    Why recumbent bikers are so conceited?

    • @BTRflorida
      @BTRflorida  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      not sure why? but I did ask a couple of rr why. they say because they are smarter than the ur rider because they chose an recumbent to ride in the first place. hope this helps

    • @lefranor
      @lefranor 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BTRflorida that's stupid from both sides (ur rides and rr riders) both has it's good and bad things. I'm a rr rider and i feel better on uphill, but ur is more aero so they do it better decending. Thanks for the answer!
      Also ur looks great to ride

      sounds like begging the question. even if the OP is conceited it does not mean recumbent riders in general are. from reading posts on bentrideronline, recumbent riders seem a fairly gentle,non aggressive humble bunch who tend to be objective about the pros and cons of different bike types. anyway, its not unreasonable or conceited to defend a point of view (in this case that recumbents are faster), esp if you supply evidence they are. but this is a moot point. gloating about being 'superior' might be entirely justified in this case. is it unreasonable to be annoyed when the international cycling union, which should not favour any style of bike and should be working to improve cycling technology instead of hampering it, outright banned recumbents from competing for all these years for no other reason than to defend vested business interests. plus recumbent riders, in spite of rider objectively faster machines, have to endure the general elitist disdain and mockery by the roadie community , which i would definitely say was conceited, ie they have a non justified smug sense of superiority. its only right they get taken down a peg or two.
