  • Modifications for the Honda B series engine. We cover the best upgrades for your B Series to help you maximize your investment in your Honda Project car.
The best engine parts, in our opinion, are those that provide the best value for money. Popular B18 parts will not influence us; they must be cost reasonable.
    Engine Upgrades for Your Vehicle
Mapping - remapping via aftermarket ECUs and piggyback ECUs are great upgrades on the B series.
Fast road cams are one of the most significant mechanical upgrades, but they must be fitted by someone who knows what they're doing, and they're not always easy to come by. However, you might be able to find a local outfit to regrind a standard camshaft.
Note that many of these mods will NOT ADD POWER ON THEIR OWN in most circumstances, although they can aid boost power after other mods by removing the restriction.
Turbocharger and supercharger upgrades - forced induction is the most efficient way to increase air supply, allowing you to burn more fuel and produce more power. It is one of the most expensive modifications, but it delivers the best results.
Porting and flowing the head's goals are to get air flowing into the engine while removing flow limitations and turbulence.
Intake manifolds, Sports exhaust header/manifold, Fast road camshaft, Panel air filters, Remaps are common stage 1 changes.
Stage 2 modifications commonly include: a sports catalyst and performance exhaust, a ported and polished head, fuel pump enhancements, a fast road cam, and high flow fuel injectors.
Engine balancing and blueprinting, adding or upgrading forced induction (turbo/supercharger), competition cam, internal engine modifications (pistons/head/valves), dual charging conversions are common stage 3 changes.
B series turbo upgrades and turbo conversion kits add substantial power to your project.

I love my built b series . It seems to really like Nitrous express all controlled by a Haltec ecu and Mad scientist auto behind the key board. It’s sleeved cams springs retainers rods etc. It does pretty good for a NA car and I can still drive it to work

B20B long intake 97 AWD crv. Have a nice header from PLM 2.5" collector, stock but new cat, 2.5" cat back. Exhaust gets the most results on B series. I've also had 95 GS-R 1.8 VTEC had a lot of bolt ons but the VTEC engines need the 4-1 really wakes up the top end.

thanks for the info, im a total noob and have a 96 integra with a b18b in it. After adding intake, header and exhaust im really noticing how much i need to tune soon. Probably a vtec head thrown on in the near future. This is great info for the dumb guy way behind on these engines.

Hey mate I’ve got a db8 aswell, I thought the type R intake mani wouldn’t work on a c1 head due to cr head being bigger ports?

So u have a '01- '04ish... n yea they suck but the K isn't to bad to swap in....I think you bolt it right in

      @zekezeikitsune2339 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

K20z3 is a good option for you. I’ve seen an 01’ with an H22 blue top before which is interesting…but wouldn’t recommend since the K is stronger and there’s more available parts to swap into an EM2/ES1 chassis.

@@torquecars slightly larger then the ITR cams and the only legal cam upgrade for California. Haven’t heard this baby purr yet it’s still on the engine stand. Need to paint the valve cover and adjust the valve cover then it’s drop in ready

B16a with a supercharger tuned at 245hp rebuilding it currently and looking to go around 300 horsepower if I get a smaller pulley and some cams do you think I could be making close to that. Looking to bore out the pistons and chuck in larger forged pistons a lot of upgrades I haven’t stated trans has also been rebuilt snd strengthened so should be able to hold the power I’m planning on making is a street car also!

Awesome spec, how do you find traction with that at the moment and thanks for the support my friend.
It is impossible to estimate power as there are too many variables here, I would suspect you need to focus on fuel mods as well.
Improving the head is a key on these higher power B series builds.

So i just recently bought a 1990 Integra GS. Its fully stock. From what I understand , there’s no real easy mod to add power as any setup requires a very extensive list of supporting mods. I bought it hoping id be able to add a few mods for 160-180 whp. I now know it’s not that easy

You can still have fun with it, focus on suspension strip out weight and you'll transform the cars fun factor and it wont cost a fortune.

lol I was hoping no one would spot that but it is kinda obvious, well done being the first to point that out my friend.
I don't really have any B series engine footage despite trawling a few local meets and car shows to shoot some.
If anyone has some footage of their engine I can use in a future video please contact me via my webmaster(at)Torquecars.com email address and we can sort out a download via wetransfer.
