Hold them by the back flipper, the swim fin, as close to the body as possible. There’s no way they could bite you if you hold them there, pinch it with your thumb and index finger. You did a great job buddy!
You are supposed to pick them up from either the right or left rear fin where it meets with the shell. They can't reach that far back and cannot get your fingers... That one crab almost reached under and got you...
The son has to teach the Dad to put the net in the water, not wait until the crab gets all the way to the top before he tries to scoop them up. Just the way the Dad kicked the fish back into the water shows he's not a real sportsman, he seems to be doing it for his son's enjoyment only.
