Nice catch
@@MKOutdoors just started salt water fishing list for you hope it helps. On random
Awesome day crabbing. Pretty cool. With K out on the bow it reminded me of Titanic. Good thing your boat was sea worthy. Take care.
Hey there! New friend here. Coming from the live-stream. Pretty cool video. I love crab. Nice adventure with the family. Nice batch of crabs. Awesome! 🦀👌🏻
When I worked in Louisiana we would catch those blue crabs with a chicken neck on a String and a net 🤣👊🏻
I used to do this with my grandfather and my dad in Sea Isle when I was young. Takes me back.
Hey, first, thank you for watching!! We appreciate it. And I hear you, it was special being out there with my daughter and my father. He taught me and now passing it on to her. Thanks again for watching!
Haven't been crabbing for a while. We used to hand line, but don't think our knees are up to a day of that anymore with our excessive age and all. LOL.Looks like you all did OK.
Lol, we still sometimes hand line, but we find this way more productive. Thanks so much for watching, we appreciate it!
Awesome video! Hard to beat family time on the water and fresh blue crabs!!
Awesome job, Kaylee is a great helper, So awesome to see how well she does, congrats and hope dinner was yummy, thank you for bringing me with you, take care my friends
Fantastic Mike!! And great job pulling traps Kaylee!! 👏👏 y’all had a great day and a really good catch! I enjoyed it 😊👍👍👏👏👏
Awesome video brother!! I used to crab in the Chesapeake and Potomac. Had 12 traps and man pulling those traps with all that mud coming up was such a nasty smell lol Not to mention the rotten fish we put in the traps lol🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Its not easy!!
Haha, i hear ya man. We love it, been crabbing with my dad since i could walk
Cool having 3 generations on the boat! You guys got a nice bucket of crabs to feast on. Happy fathers day 👊
How awesome was that !! Three generations out catching blue crabs . Very cool ! Thanks for taking us along !!!! Stay safe stay healthy
Aww man great video!! I love blue crabs!! I was raised in VA and Chesapeake blue crabs are awesome! I remember crabbing as a kid. I am looking forward to watching more. I discovered you from small youtubers Monday. -Sherry
@@MKOutdoors Thank you. We are small but we are having a great time living small and exploring.
Your video made me smile 😊 what a great team 👍👍
@@MKOutdoors we live in Oregon and Crab for Dungeones and red rocks ie baby king crab 🦀. I love the family outdoor stuff with the kids. We have a 10 and an 11 year old boy and girl. Super cool to see you guys on the Eastern sea board doing exactly the same thing we do. Love it.
@@MKOutdoors well come on out with the crew anytime 👍🇺🇸. We would love to try some Blues 👍❤️
Man those things look beautiful and delicious. Nice job finding them. Me and Paul will be doing similar but with crawdads
Nice!!!!! How did the blue stuff work? I see they loved the bunker!!!! Great video!!!
Thanks brother, and i really don't think the blue stuff made much of a difference. Bunker was what they wanted
I tried the blue stuff. No good save your money. Bunker works good enough for me. Cheers drom Bayville.
Hey Jeff, first, thanks for watching and second, i totally agree. Never again, didn't do anything. At least i can say we tried it. Have a good season!! ....M&K
Great time out on the water crabbing with the family. You will be eating good. Did you catch any fish when you were trolling? Take Care and Keep Exploring The Outdoors.
Thanks John, no fish tho. I was surprised. We trolled for a while and nothing
I think you may have misspoke when you said 'blue crab boil'...I'm sure you meant to say blue crab steam...
Hey I really liked your video when I was her age I used to love catching crabs hand lines with my dad I really miss that now at 57 and him gone now cherish these moments they are so special thank you for sharing you brought back lots of memories for me 👍😎🙏❤️🇺🇸🦀
Looks like a lot of fun! I haven’t been crabbing in a long time . Those guys taste great 😄
Awesome video! How big do they have to be?
Thanks so much for watching!!! Blue crabs in New Jersey have to be 4 1/2 inches from point to point on their shell
That is so awesome. I am going to be doing something similar here, except we will be catching crawdads.. All males, how can u tell? Keeper? what is the size for a keeper.
Awesome, i love crawfish. And a keeper size blue crab in NJ is 4 and a half inches from point to point. And on the under side, females have a wide triangle shape males a narrow shape. You can keep females in NJ, but we tend to throw them back so they reproduce. You cant keep females that have eggs attached to them
That is awesome, I use to work at a fish company, there was a softshell crab season. I think those were bluecrab. They deep fried them whole and sold softshell crab sandwiches... Those were awesome..
Great vid! Are there any boat rentals nearby? Where in Ocean county is this? Can you do more crab vids in nj or ny area?
Hey thanks so much. This was near the Mantoloking bridge in Brick, NJ. There's a ton of places in ocean county to rent crabbing boats. Also Red Bank Marina rents boats too for crabbing. We did a crabbing video after this one in red bank. We're gonna be doing a few crabbing trips in July. If you have Instagram, follow us on there and ill get you a list of boat rental places
Crab Boil!? Steam those things. Nothing better!
11 people have shellfish allergies.
hahaha, best comment! dont get it, grandfather, father and daughter crabbing together and its thumbed down.
Great video what is the pole you are using to retrieve the lines?
Hey Brian, first, thanks for watching and the kind words!, and we actually bought that at the marina store that morning. I believe its mainly used to grab line when you're tying and untying the boat, but it works great in this situation. Thank you again for watching, we appreciate it
@@briangaumer7076 Yes we do. This video was shot in Brick, NJ. Our latest video we just put up, was shot in Red Bank, we rented from Red Bank Marina. The crabbing is real good there now. But the boats are first come first serve, so you gotta get there early.
So no crabs in the pots?
Break out the Old Bay and butter. Crabs tonight!
Forget the old bay. Served cold with cocktail sauce and fresh lemon.
Whoever that person is who gave this a thumbs down needs to find something else to do with their life. 👍 Good stuff guys.
Thanks man, i know. It was literally the second it went up. Thanks for watching!!
do you mind telling me where to get those crab traps?
Not at all. If you are local, Gabriel Tackle in Brick, NJ has an awesome selection of crab traps any size you need. Most tackle stores will sell them
Awesome trip guys! That was a tasty looking bushel at the end! Is there a cook part coming next -- would love to see how you cook them. I think you mentioned boil at some point in the video? Also, what was the water depth where you were throwing the traps? Great job as always, guys!
Thanks buddy, no cook video this time, maybe the next crabbing trip. We boil them and season the water with Old Bay, some mustard and some beer. Delicious. And we were only in about 4 to 5 feet of water
M & K Outdoors - Thanks Mike! Not very deep water, but you definitely caught em! We steam ours, but it’s not something I’m wedded to 100%. Would love to boil and compare the feel and taste of the meat.
Have you tried or know someone who tried using both fish and chicken in the same trap as bait?
I don’t own a boat tho;( does this work off a pier?? I’m from south Jersey
How does the crab fuel work? Anyone suggest it? I guess it can't hurt. South Jersey lbi.
@@MKOutdoors I always use bunker or chicken. I've even used hot dogs. Crabs will eat anything.
@@MKOutdoors I was just about to tell you. Sometimes flounder would get caught in my hotels. And I'd use them. Deff greater catch rate.
Hi Great Video.. I subscribed.. I would like to ask what computer program/editing software u use? I would like to make a similar channel icon you have (the M&K outdoors symbol) when your video started.. was curious how you made that?
Thanks so much!! We appreciate it. We use Adobe Premier Pro to edit. Out logo we had done by a professional graphic designer. Spader Creative. He does Amazing work, look him up on Instagram
Of course, look us up on Instagram if you have it. We just subbed to you as well. Congrats, you're almost at 100!! Thats awesome
@@waterwoodsfamilyvideos I also saw you fish Manasquan Inlet, we have a bunch of videos from there
@@MKOutdoors thank you! I'm hoping to be at a hundred by the end of the month I'm working very hard to put out videos in fact I leave early tomorrow morning for a New Jersey again for a fishing trip for four days
No turtle protectors?
@@MKOutdoors I live in the area. and ive NEVER seen a person use the protectors on their pots. I believable it is law. It prevented me from tossing mine out a few weeks ago. figured id pick some up instead of possibly getting in trouble. Nice vid. Good your getting your kid into it at the perfect age. keep it up!!
Thanks man, really appreciate it. I actually just looked up if there was a law, there is, the NJ law says the protectors must be used if you're in a salt marsh 150 feet wide or less, so i think we were good here. Im gonna get them anyway, Kaylee LOVES turtles, so it will definitely make her feel better. We really appreciate the tip man, thanks. And thanks for watching!!!
@@MKOutdoors See that part of the law i did not know! I guess were good! Thanks man!
Awesome video! I'm a total newbie at crabbing and I'm using similar snap traps like yours, but noticed you have one door setup to open. Did you just zip tie the doors closed or used the same line to tie them shut?
Hey Bryan, first, thank you for the kind words and checking us out. And if you mean the smaller traps, thats how they come when we bought them. I really like those traps. And crabbing is so much fun, we didn't get out as much as we'd like. But next summer we're gonna do more crabbing videos. Thanks again buddy!!
Do you teach lessons?
Hi, no we don't, but if you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, message me and I'll be happy to give you advice!
@@MKOutdoors Many thanks!! Just show a request over through Instagram.
Hey guys, in today's video, we head out to the bay in Ocean County, New Jersey with my Dad in his boat in search of New Jersey Blue Crabs. It turned out to be a good day and we caught nearly 30 crabs in only a few hours. We used bunker and chicken for bait and I tried a new product called Blue Crab Fuel, which actually didn't seem to make too much of a difference. It was an awesome day on the water with my Dad and Kaylee!. We hope you enjoy and as always, please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE!!
