@@zeebest1004 a little while ago he announced that he has some sort of brain issue that is affecting his speech abilities. His speech is sometimes slower and more labored than it used to be. I saw a disclaimer on a more recent video that says that he’s working through his diagnosis and it doesn’t affect his processing abilities - only his ability to get the speech out. I cannot imagine how devastating and frustrating that is for him. And then to be one of the “most famous physical therapists on the internet” and have people judge you for your loss of speech functioning… People can be cruel. (I am delighted to see no such comments on this video) And I wanted to share how much I admire his tenacity in continuing to show up.
I appreciate you both. I found you guys in 2020. I really depend on seeing y’all since having my stroke December 2021. The exercises you do help me so much. Thank you. Bob, you are an inspiration. Know that. You showing up helps reminds us we can too… despite some of us who have health issues. Thank you.
I tried the exercise ball, felt a deep crunch between my shoulder blades, and the headache I've been trying to manage for three days is gone. Thank you sooooooo much!
I am vertically challenged and stretch by holding on to the top of the fridge. Could hardly reach at first, now it’s very easy. Your exercise suggestions have helped me lessen the pain in my back caused by arthritis. Thank you both.
Been gone for a bit, so good to see you both again. You have helped me and several of my relatives and friends. My sister's physical therapist was happy to hear she is using your techniques for her sciatic nerve issues.
Bob and Brad, thanks for the whole list. I have used an inversion table for over 15 years and absolutely love it. Only takes about 5 minutes and works wonders.
got mine a week ago, is called inversion table BodyCoach gravity trainer. it's nice because it takes no effort to stay 10 minutes just there hanged upside down to decompress the spine, it was 160 euros. but there are 3 inconveniences. 1: it's difficult to assemble it alone, if you have already back problems it's very difficult to open the package and assemble it, the parts are heavy. So have someone to help you. 2: the blood flows to your head and if you really want to stay with the head low, you will constantly feel blood pressure in your head and eyes. 3: You have to be careful when getting into the table , it's not like dangerous or something but if you have extra back problems you have to use your hands a lot and not make bad moves with your spine and feet. Same when you need to get off the table.
The large exercise balls work amazing for decompression. Once you get the hang of the balancing, it REALLY helps. You can also lay forward on it and it helps as well. It’s best to do the forward/stomach position on an empty stomach though. Thanks for sharing guys!
I work in a nursing home . The CNAs do doubles and one was complaining is sciatica limping having a hard time . I suggested this to him and rhe next day he loved me and was so grateful! Just decompress! I had the problem and made the world of difference so I use these on a regular basis to avoid having pain .
Thanks so much for sharing these ideas. We have your hanging handles, the blue roller, and the big black ball. My husband has spinal stenosis with some disc bulging. We're expecting our Teeter table today or tomorrow. Your very helpful and encouraging videos are invaluable. Bless you both.
Learned about decompressing the spine from a chiropractor two decades ago and haven’t been back to a chiropractor since I bought and started using the inversion table. What the chiropractor couldn’t correct over three months got corrected by the inversion table the first night I used it. I use it on a regular basis at least 2 or 3 times a week especially if I start feeling any knee, hip, back or neck discomfort. When you are hurting you’ll start feeling decompression when your head is slightly below the horizontal position. Normally I go totally inverted and do some body trunk rotations and even do some inverted position crunches. Good luck, I hope the inversion table is as beneficial to you. I have and use the other equipment that you have but I get the most immediate results from the inversion table. If you feel a little light headed upside down start out doing the inversion for short periods 10 or 20 seconds and you’ll eventually work up to longer times without that strange light head feeling. It may even help to tightly close your eyes until you get used to it.
@@waynebuff1078 that's a good idea Wayne. I don't remember what they look like but I've seen a couple thrown out on the street that look like lounge chairs triangle based on either end of the chair and it tips you over backwards he gets suspended on this double T bar you put your ankles and hook your feet on the outer T. You really get suspended but sometimes you get too relaxed it's hard to pivot yourself back in the upright position.. you'll get light-headed that's why it's a good idea to have somebody spot you so they can pull you upright again if you get to relaxed or panicky I couldn't do it by myself and I had a hard time finding some friend to spot me while I do it so I got in the garage now two of them. I guess the reason people threw my was maybe the same reason they're getting too lightheaded being upside down.. come to think of it reminds me of that famous picture of Mussolini and his 6 cohorts hanging upside down.. I said to myself man that thing looks so relaxing and so decompressing hanging for hours.. oh my God
I have Idiopathic scoliosis, degenerative disc disease and have had 5 compress fractures. For the past couple of years, I have used foam rollers (hard/soft, big/small) to relieve back pain. In April, I bought a Teeter Inversion table on Craigslist for $50 (a couple of weeks later I got an inversion table for free through Facebook Marketplace and gave it to my son who also has back issues). I attached a 36" hard foam roller to the Teeter inversion table and use 2 5lb bar bell weights. I recline the table about half way, grab the weights from a chair behind my head and extend both arms to find areas of discomfort. This combination works for me. I don't hang. I do about 6-10 sessions daily that last between 2-5 minutes.
Decompression of the spine is so valuable allowing blood to get between the discs. I have used a yoga sling to sit and swing upside-down to hang for a few years now. I use it for about 5 minutes a day hanging and stretching out and you really do feel the spine and muscles begin to relax. I attached it to my enclosed carport overhead metal beams with truck strength slings and heavy duty clasps for security. I have 3 bulging discs in my lower back which won't go away so this helps so much. Also good for getting bloodflow to the head if you haven't high blood pressure.
for a split second i thought i saw the title as how to decompose your body in 30 sec. i was like now thats quality content lets see how to do it. but then i read the title again and now my back feels better. its pleasant but not what i was expecting
Thank you for another outstanding video. I've used a foam roller for years and works wonders. Since I don't have a bar to hang from, I pull down my attic stairs in the garage and hang from the frame which really helps the back as well as my shoulders. I've also found cycling on my 10 speed does wonders for my lower back and overall core muscles.
Teeter Dex 2 works really well for decompression. In my experience, it works better than a traditional teeter because your lumbar is not arched. You can also lean/pulk to the right and left stretching the muscles that wrap around your lowerback and hips. Every night before bed. Strongly recommend. I have had back and neck surgery and this seems to work well for decompression and stretching.
Hi Bob and Brad good to see you guys again. Do you remember the gravity boots they had in the '70s and '80s. That reminds me of Mussolini at his 6 cohorts hanging outside of gas station. Man that looks over relaxing LOL.
I've been using my roller I didn't know that was extending my back but that's fantastic just trying to make sure my posture is much better especially after losing a lot of weight like your your friend that you did the neck hump exercises on as well
I lay on my foam roller like that for 30 minutes straight sometimes 😅 it's a must have for me, I use it everyday! I have a question- is it bad to tuck your chin and crack your upper back on the foam roller?
Also remember The Addams family lurch pulls his back out and they have him stretch out on the rack. And Grandma turning the huge wheel tightening the ropes you can hear lurch back popping. He looked so relaxed in Nirvana Man the old ways were the best. Thanks for these other tips I'm wondering are all these still good if you have sciatica I think I'm developing it again. I had a permanent knee injury a shattered meniscus in the left leg when I was attacked last year in a pizza store in Brookly. I'm 71 was very athletic. Going into so much depression because now I'm walk limping on right side using a cane. And it's throwing my walking alignment off. I think that's how I'm getting sciatica. I had this pain two other times before it went away. A month ago I was helping a lady doing a street fair at the church. She had such a heavy bag I carried one strap and she carried the other must have been 35 lb. two days later I was in so much pain couldn't get out of the house for 3 weeks that could have triggered it.
Bob & Brad, I really think you guys are giving me a big chunk of my life back. However, I've been looking for some sound advice for those of us whose ribs hit our hip bones. It's been my case all my life, but, now that I'm hitting 55, I am in PAIN. So far, all I'm finding is the advice of do not bend or twist. That can't be good for anybody, can it? Is there anything I can do to improve my lot? Working on my posture, but I hope there is more I might do. Many thanks for all you do. You're helping a LOT of people. Bless.
Have you looked into inversion? Tilt table? I would use with a commercial lumbar support pillow or buy one with adjustable lumbar support (not just flat)
@@LioraLand1 Since I live alone, I'm reluctant to try inversion, worried I might get stuck and have no help getting out of it. Instead, I have ordered a pull-up bar for the door frame, so I can try that hanging thing that way. Hoping it helps. I only recently found out that ribs touching hip bones is not something everyone deals with. I had no clue.
Good job guys. I used to use an inversion table with great success. However, after surviving a brain aneursym I had to give it up. I've lost 2" in height over the past few years due to just getting older (spine compression). These exercises look great! Thank you.
can you talk more about safe rotation for the back? I have axial spondiloarthritis and started having massive pain in my left leg. My rheumotologist figured out it was my l4 and l5 and referred me out for pt. I stopped doing twists in yoga and the pain went away!!! but I do get bound up down there and want to decompress it? so the last stretch you demonstrate intrigues me (because my thoracic is painful as well), I'm just hesitant because I worry about hurting myself again. I know to stop when something hurts, but I did not register any pain in the back when I was having problems with that leg, so I'm afraid I don't have a way to know how much twist is too much!

I had l5-S1 disc herniation impinging on traversing nerves 6 days back ....when should we start doing those exercises ??? After a period of bed rest or can start doing them ?? Kindly reply sirs 🙏
My lowest vertebra is partially fused to the sacrum. Have you guys ever done a video on sacralization (i think that’s what it’s called)? Would any stretches and exercise like this be bad in that case? My doctors have always said it’s no big deal, but I’m always in pain. Lower back pain and sciatica down the butt/leg.
a lot of these just make my upper and mid back and ribs feel more stiff and sore. i dont know whats going on. i did bloodtests but the only available appointment for the results is in a few weeks so im just sitting here uncomfortably trying to get some relief.
My problem with the hanging one, which I do all the time, is that as soon as I am done hanging and go back to normal standing that pressure is immediately back along with the pain. So the only relief I get is when I am actually hanging.
2:54 i don't have a foam roller but i have an empty mineral water plastic tube (filled with warm water), and i do the rolls quite often 😎 edit: 4:38 this won't be probably good for those with lumbar hyperlordosis or those with spondylosis (my lumbars are spondylosed from L2 to L5) since whenever i arch my back back, it hurts.. probably even do to the forward sacrum issue, causing retrolysthesis but still, it hurts me..

If they don't get back to you soon, I would ask your doctor. And just keep in mind, don't do anything that causes pain.
I'm looking for an exercise program For ACL degeneration
My problem with the hanging one, which I do all the time, is that as soon as I am done hanging and go back to normal standing that pressure is immediately back along with the pain. So the only relief I get is when I am actually hanging.
Me too
@@debrac1688 The same here.
