i feel like your reading journey is so similar to your music journey. like when you were going through that rolling stone list and then started buying records, now you’re working through classics and starting to collect books. thanks for bringing us along for these journeys ❤
where did you get metal skeleton for it?? it looks so amazing in red! Also I can see you have similar one but shorter, and it would also lokk so good in new color!
I'm also wondering this!!! Did anyone find out/does anyone know? I assumed it would be an easy Lowes/Home Depot find but I can't seem to find them anywhere!
Since you have a Moomin mug and a poster I recommend reading Tove Jansson's novels, because people know her from the Moomins, but often don't know that she has written for adults too (not to say that Moomins are not for the adults 😅). For example Fair Play is about two artistic women in a relationship and it's inspired by Jansson's own relationship with Tuulikki Pietilä. That could be a good one to start with 😊 I love the new bookshelf!
I love how queerness gives you the audacity and the capacity to build up things from nothing (I made up an entire bed, two couches and a desk), "who needs skills when you have ✨gay✨!" At first your bookshelf made me remember the Centre Pompidou :D it ended very well (also Hamburguesa approved!) and YES: your reading nook is actual heaven ✨Also love your winther-themed hair ❄
@@waffelsmellgood People get empowered in many types of ways. OP was just saying it was sweet this specific thing empowered Fran. ❤ It’s valid either way.
looks great!! also i love that you're shouting out/reccomending libraries. i feel like a lot of book readers online are pretty consumerist/buy a lot of books, and it's nice to see more people talking about libraries
Seeing you get into books and reading has been a delight! and has helped me get out of a very strong reading slump! Also, LOVE to see you hanging those frames, they deserve to be proudly displayed~ The bookshelf came out amazing
Beautiful shelves of books. The spirit is in your flat, the spirit of inspiration, art and creation. Would be nice to meet such a nice person somewhere. Thank You for being and sharing.
This is the most simple modern bookshelves i see and fell in love with, your creation by trying to sit and imagine yourself reading a book is totally i magineyself doing this. I build my bookshelves this summer and it was a life dream of me, this is the harvest i want in life, not money, not houses but rich in mind and cultures. Author Maguy Daoud from Lebanon.
Fran built a bookshelf, I built a bed. Love the drive. 💪 There's one scene in this video I need to draw, because it's yelling at me to get captured. LOVE your blue hair Fran!! 🩵
I read Breasts and Eggs….Interesting! I loved the writing. My one recommendation is to read Lonesome Dove. Its a western…and i know, i know…western? Only western ive ever read and It’s straight up one of the best books Ive ever read. Cried like a baby. It’s truly a perfect story!
hi Fran ! you didn't talk about audio books and they are a great reading solution too ! I'm a school librarian so I've so much stuff to read for work, when a book is available in an audio version, it allows me to read it while walking ! like a podcast, yay !! have a great day and congrats for your beautiful bookshelf !!!
Oh how beautiful bookshelf and it was so nice to see you so happy ❤ Books are the best companion! I'm just returning into reading again, after few years of almost not reading at all. So, happy and book-lovely new year for you Fran 😊
Hermoso video
I’ve been eyeing these same shelf stands on etsy for like 6 months. Yours look SO GOOD!!! The color is incredible, I will definitely paint if I get them. I’m thinking seafoam green or light turquoise, or limon green?! Girl you’ve inspired me
That bookshelf is radical. I love it! I'm new to the channel and have watched a few videos. You're an okay chica. Stay warm there in New York. Also, the books I recommend aren't going to be "classics" but they're a cool series. Read the 'Dealing With Dragons' by Patricia C. Wrede. It's an upside down fairytale series. I'm sure you'll be able to relate to the main character Cimorene. I'm currently reading 'The Golden Dawn' by Israel Regardie and 'Atomic Habits' by James Clear.
i love your book content fran!! i'm not a patron so i don't know if you've shown over there but i would enjoy a bookshelf tour :-))) or your "must reads"/books that people should read to get to know you better
Whenever I watch Fran's most recent upload, i keep daydreaming of when I'll be able to live the life she's living and is it even possible at all. I don't know if it will ever happen but I'm glad that I can live vicariously through her videos 💖
Fran, conoces a Banana Yoshimoto?
i think the best system for a set of shelves is to have no system. i like that the books all get to speak to each other, non-dependant on genre or alphabetical sequence. also when you throw them haphazardly together sometimes you notice that certain books go together and it's almost as if it's by their own choosing. my bookcase is a living breathing organism of its own and i love it... im listening to the radio and i thought "i gotta pick up 'the silent cry' by this Japanese author i like and then a japanese language song started to blare through my stereo. augh, i love books too. bathing in language. friggin' wonderful
I'm not huge on the "classics" personally but I love fiction and gravitate more toward sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. Two of my favorite Booktubers are Elizabeth from Plant Based Bride and Leoni from The Book Leo. And seeing the bookshelves of other people makes me so happy. Nicely done on that one, Fran!
the bookshelf turned out lovely!!! On earth we’re briefly gorgeous is one of my favorite books of all time, although it is sad and not easy to read at times, it is probably the most beautiful writing i have had the chance to encounter. I hope you will also love it!!
You are my favorite booktuber! Actually, some of the books you've mentioned in your hauls I already read them, but you've mentioned some in Spanish that I didn't knew! So thanks for being my favorite bookfluencer 😅 Actually, I don't know if you know but as a chilean you have access to an amazing e-library with BP digital (biblioteca publica digital) only with your RUT and is for free, I found there many authors that I can't find in Germany where I live.
Coincidence! I literally just started reading The Great Gatsby yesterday! I guess I should say re-reading, because you’re right; I did read it in high school. But that was a long time ago and I’ve forgotten the story… I love when coincidences happen! Anyhoo… I used to be an avid reader when I was younger but fell off when I was in college/in my 20s. It took me a LONG time to get into it again, and I realized it’s because my reading tastes had changed and I kept trying to read the stuff I used to like instead of things that interest me now. Figuring that out was a game changer and now I love to read again! Your advice here is spot on!👏 Congrats on the new book shelf-it looks great! I’ll be surprised if Hamurguesa doesn’t take over that empty bottoms shelf at some point though😸
Who is your favorite booktuber? I love " the outrun" by Amy Liptrot so I'm happy to have his second book ( "The Instant") on my tbr. Right now i read " They call me a lioness"by Ahed Tamimi ! ✊
thank you for sharing the reading while you eat part this year I'm reading a book a month to try and get back on the habit of reading, I used to devour books when i was in highschool. btw, my fave book I read last year: Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. He's story is so interesting and it really transported me to South Africa during the apartheid.
Really interesting vision for a bookshelf. I love that you are sharing your reading journey. My biggest passions are art and books. So, thank you for inspiration 2 in 1! 😊

Wake up, everybody! FRAN'S PUTTING TOGETHER A BOOKSHELF!! I love seeing folks curating a nice & cozy reading nook. Turned out ✨️stunning✨️
Are you ok? 👀
i feel like your reading journey is so similar to your music journey. like when you were going through that rolling stone list and then started buying records, now you’re working through classics and starting to collect books. thanks for bringing us along for these journeys ❤
This is one of my favourite vlogs of yours. I absolutely love the cozy space you've created
where did you get metal skeleton for it?? it looks so amazing in red!
I could cry sitting in that spot 😱❤️❤️❤️
Oh my goodness, I've never felt so cozy in my entire life while watching this. I could rewatch this again and again.
Your videos are so calming and cozy. Thank you. It's been warming to my soul over this past year.
I’m not gay and I build things. I don’t think it’s just for queer folks.

you should paint the picture frame next to the shelf with the same red you used for the metal bars.. it would tie them together and make it pop more

He's story is incredible and gives you real insights into apartheid, also racism generally.
Hi Fran I loved your bookshelf! What do you call that metal frame? - EDIT: I saw the link on the description now, thank you!
Love your work!
Ååååå! Småtrollen! ❤

¡Hola Fran!
Tu librero me encantó 😊
It's always a pleasant surprise to know i'll get to enjoy my morning tea with a fran video 🫖🌟
