Myers hugging Garland after his goal looked like a dad and his son 🤣
COCONUTS GLOW
Canucks best record through the first 41 games since... 2010-2011.
shhhhhh
IT'S COMING HOME, IT'S COMIN HOME, TELL THE WORLD THAT ITS... COMING.... HOME!!
Shhhh.
gave me ptsd when shorty said that
They 😂didn’t win a cup that year either 😂
These last three games have been impressive. The entire team looks pretty tight and together.
First time in franchise history they've got the trifecta on the NY swing. Everything's coming up Milhouse.
This whole season has been a treat to watch.
And this is while on the road and almost certainly tired. The Rangers and Devils were emotional games, too, you know they wanted to avenge those losses. This team is a potential dynasty in the making. Just wait til the Swedes from the World Juniors arrive. Five on five, this team is impressive and improving.
Thick. Solid. Tight
dynasty lol make the playoffs first @@gameburn178
gotta give some credit to desmith. it feels so good knowing that we have a reliable and amazing backup goalie we can play anytime.
Demko gave up two goals last night that were a bit iffy -- no one is saying much because the team is so good right now -- but I don't mind seeing DeSmith in there at all. And Demko clearly needs some rest.
@@gameburn178 yup that’s what i thought too, he seemed a bit off last game. But hats off to demko for playing well pretty much every game this season. he needs rest for sure
@@user-kt8kr4cu4h Then again, Demco was in the midst of getting 6 goals of support. he probably didn't feel quite the same level of urgency to make all the saves as he would if it were a tight 3-1 game where goals are hard to come by. Say what you will, I'm sure that does have at least a small psychological effect on a goalie's effort level. Same goes for a team that's getting their asses handed to them. I mean if you're up 6-1 and you give up a goal, whoop-de-do, it's 6-2 now, but the other team's still not winning. That urgency just doesn't feel like it needs to be there, so you make the saves you have to, but can afford to let down a bit here and there.
Yes it’s great to have two NHL goalies both playing good, a good tandem , nice to have should the Knuckleheads, say make the playoffs?
Who is complaining that the Canucks used the 1st rounder from the Horvat trade to get Hronek now? 🙂
I didn't know much about Hronek, but I thought we were going into a rebuild, I was excited to have 2 picks in a deep draft, I thought we would get a third 1st rounder at some point before the draft, so when we traded for him and gave away the first I was like wtf... but results speak for themselves, the guy is a absolute stud and has filled out our top pairing. Worth both our first round picks.
The hustle on the 3rd goal to strip the puck away, not only shows he has a high powered motor on him, but also a killer instinct,. Most defenders peel off after taking that shot off the half wall, he went below the goal line looking for a play.
@@fdti6914 I guess when they meant rebuilt, they meant instant rebuild, not wait for 20 rookies to hopefully get good and maybe become a winner 2-4 years from now.
Makes sense as we've got the goaltending, and the elite forwards, just needed to ditch the anchor contract players and use that freed up cap space to get some guys who are actually good. The only Anchor Contract player I'm happy the Canucks still have now is Connor Garland as is pretty and gritty play has shown he's grown into his contract and playing like he's worth the $5 mil/year cap hit this season, especially when combined with Joshua and Blueger.
Only the opposition that keeps getting hit by his massive shot is complaining now.
So many canuck fans are absolutely clueless about draft pick value and the value of prospects.
@@Seriously_Unserious yeah spot on. Just amazing to see it all happen so quickly, like right in front of our eyes
Let’s go nucks!! Even Myers has been playing well lately, this is the team I love!! Great Road trip so far!
keep the goal times going. all bets are off in the first round
I have been so tough on Myers for years but he is playing well right now.
Myers has been playing well for a while now. He’s got a D partner in Zedorov who compliments him in size and style. As well as top coaching from Gonchar and Foote. Happy for him
It's funny, Myers only has 3 goals now this season but two of them have been on the rush like he's the world's biggest power forward.
tyler myer's #57 who not long ago was Canuck's enemy #1 scored a bomb!! i'm pleased cos to criticise a player is 1 thing but when a whole fan base bully a player its a little unreasonable, also the joy of his team mates at his goal was ace to see!
That closing line left me with chills 🥶
It does!
Literally just got goose bumps bro
And cold sweats.
Left me with vietman flashback ☠️
As heartbreaking as that year ended up being, It still made me smile hearing the closing line because I remember how great it felt having one of the best years Canucks ever had.
8:13 Garland had to leap up to hug Myers, looked like a Chihuahua hugging Great Dane. Another team effort tonight, goals from all over and the D were the snipers tonight. This team isn't flashy but they do have chutzpah, a little back and forth in the crease between Miller and Pettersson like they'd been doing that for years. They're solid, Tochet is getting good minutes from his whole team and his goaltending is impressive. Devils/Rangers/Islanders in a first time trifecta. Fantastic all around.
Not flashy? Did you not see Elias Petterson's goal last night? Or Brock Boesser's breakaway goal? Or Nils Hooglander's one upmanship between the legs backhander goal as if to say, "Petey, anything you can do, I can do better!"
Or Quinn Hughes goal tonight? Each of those were things of beauty. The team has grit in spades, but they're also pretty at the same time.
3 amazing games! First time in franchise history the Canucks beat the Devils, Rangers, and Islanders in a row, on the same road trip. Halfway through the season, the Canucks are 27-11-3, and their win total matches the franchise record through 41 games, set back in 2010-2011!
When leading after 2 periods, Canucks are now 24-0-0...a sight you really love to see. Crazy tbh but definitely loving it.
Hughes’ goal was called unassisted, but it looks like the replay shows Miller (behind the net) passing to Boeser in the slot, Boeser shoots, puck bounces around without the Isles getting possession, then Hughes picks it up, goes around everyone snd scores.
So probably should have been Hughes from Boeser and Miller.
Garland’s jump hug to myers was cute af
Epic 7:50
It's almost as if Garland was living up to his name and hanging himself from Myres as a garland decoration!
It blows me away what a difference a year makes. The additions have all worked out so well, and the team has completely levelled up as a result. If anyone had told me at this time last year that the Canucks would top of the NHL in January 2024 , I would have assumed they were drunk, or had a terrible sense of humour.
Miller’s play in particular has been the biggest surprise after last season. His confidence is back, and his play with Petterson, and Boeser has been something to behold. I think I can finally admit they actually belong in the hunt for top spot in the league. If they stay healthy, it’s going to be quite a year.
I told people we were going to be good this year
Miller has games where he isn't even a dominant Canuck player and still wins over half of his faceoffs, gets 2 assists, and shuts down an opposing line.
and that's not to mention Garland, Joshua and Blueger's pleasant surprise from the 3rd line. If the Canucks ever got into injury problems, that trio could just move up a spot for a few games and play as the 2nd line for a short period and not look out of place. As good as they are though, I'd still not want them on the 2nd line for long though, as they're at their best right were they are, 3rd line checkers who chip in with offence.
What blows me away is how many hockey fans really don't seem to understand how the modern NHL works. Team fortunes change so rapidly now. Not many teams are at the extreme anymore. Even a team like the Hawks could be in contention within 2 years.
Fans still think it's a "draft and develop" league, and while there is some truth to the fact that you need to draft a core of good young talent, after that it becomes a race to surround that talent season to season as much as possible.
There are still canuck fans out there who think we should be thinking about NEXT season and this one is just a "development" year. That is just incredibly stupid and doesn't represent how the NHL works. Next year half the team could be different. Or Demko might have a bad year. Hughes too.
The modern NHL is about taking your shot the very moment your team shows they are a competitor because those conditions may not align next year. The canucks have done that. Management in the NHL understand this. They WILL go all in this year. It means the first rounder and maybe some of the young talent will be traded and that is the CORRECT decision.
It's a single season league now. There is no "next year" when you're on top of the league standings.
we had a coaching change and when that happened we started winning, + Demko was out for pretty much the entire season no? I knew we were going to cook but maybe not this much@@Seriously_Unserious
This team is on fire it feels SO GOOD to have hockey back in our city!!!!! GO CANUCKS!
Sorry Cizikas, that shot must have hurt like hell. I wish you a quick recovery and good games in the future! -Just a Canucks fan
I'm sure Cizikas had a real learning experience there, The lesson? Don't stand in the way of a Hronek blast!
Seriously though, i do hope the guy's OK, don't want to see any human being get hurt (unless it's Brad Marchand, for him I make an exception).
@@Seriously_Unserious I too make this exception ☝️
Lol tooo funny 😂
Three beautiful games in a row... each extremely impressive in its own way. The forecheck of this team is so lethal when they're on their game that it forces their opponents to give up the puck or to simply throw it away and hope for the best. Comes down to a true HUNGER to win, and this team has been showing it. It's been an honor to be a Canucks fan over this first half of the season, and I just hope for this team to have the fortune and reward of a second half equally as impressive and exciting and powerful... and whatever might come after that. My hat is off to the Canucks!
Yes. That’s it. A true genuine hunger in their play.
Even when the Canucks are off their game, they're still winning as many as they lose and when they do lose it's either in OT or the other team had a hot goalie that stole points for them in a close nail biter. But when they're on, it's a red light show behind the other team's net.

Playing games on back to back nights didn't slow the Canucks down at all as they put on a forechecking display checking the Islanders from one side of the ice to the other in a convincing 5-2 victory... DeSmith didn't face a lot of shots, but he was sharp when he needed to be & got the job done... Canucks got goals from 3 different D men & if they could've found a way for a 4th different Defenceman to score a goal tonight, it would have tied a team record...The Canucks offense is officially on fire scoring 17 goals over the last 3 games...Vancouver looks to make it 4 wins in a row when they face Crosby, Malkin & the rest of the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Thursday...
Dude, again? is this an AI bot writing these?
@TheTTWT This guy has a sports column, but I can't remember which newspaper he writes for.
@@icyewebich6978 that explains it!
Thoes orcas looking for some penguin meat to eat! 🐧🐳
This team is on fire
We have such a great management team and great coaches
All the new additions and who they let go and dang look Myers is looking like a completely different player
Therefore our coaching staff is amazing as well…
Косатки показывают мощнейшее нападение Лиги! Никто не тянет на себя одеяло и команда работает слаженно, чувствуется работа тренерского состава! Удачи им в борьбе за Кубок!
Myers is starting to improve now, it puts a smile on my face that he actually scored!
He's still going to single handedly cost us games. Need him outta here asap.
GGS Islanders. Another great game for the boys in blue. This didn't look like a back to back game but it was. Defensive goals and lasers at that. The give and go at the cress was beautiful. DeSmith had a great night looked real confident. Big hits and great hustle. I love the smiles and energy the boys are putting in game after game. GO CANUCKS 💚💙💚💙💚💙
There's a lot of hockey still to be played, and the playoffs are always a completely differrent animal, but the Canucks are really looking like a team to be reckoned with this year.
playoffs are a different animal indeed but if you look at the way this team is winning it's through great 5v5 play, not overly reliant on their power play, closing out leads, solid goaltending, and no need for 3v3 overtime or shootout wins. We'll see what happens in the playoffs but there's good cause for optimism.
There is no ceiling with this team this season! Just watch Garland...he knows where the play is going and arrives early. 😎
It's almost like Conner's got the puck tied to his stick on a Garland! He decks the Net with boughs of pucks.
That’s our Power line right there. “life line” Joshua, Garland and Blüger
Happy to see Myers doin his thing. Had my doubts for years now but I'm glad he's still here
Some games seems like…..what? But he hasn’t been a healthy, scratch, and I have been thinking at this point you gotta trust the coach.👍
What a difference a year makes. One year ago the Canucks traded their captain to the Islanders in the midst of a lost season. This year they are doing so well that Kuzmenko (39 goals last year) has been benched without slowing down the team.
Question is, "Bo, do you miss being in Vancouver now? Will you tell us that for free?"
Lovin it the nucks are so much fun to watch
They really are fun like way more interesting than teams that are winning with defence alone.
I’d say the most impressive thing about this year vs last year is they don’t collapse if the other team pushes back and scores a goal or two. Almost every time the Canucks score seconds or at most 2 mins after getting scored on. That’s extremely useful and often finishes off another teams comeback attempt.
Yeah, when a team battles back in it with a goal or 2, only to get scored on a couple of minutes later is a real momentum killer.
Especially with how much battling it usually takes for them to get that goal or 2 past Demco, or even DeSmith who's not as good as Demco, but good enough to give Thatch a rest when needed and still be confident we can win those games.
The most impressive part about this Canucks run so far in the first half? They haven't even had a winning streak of more than 5 games to help them get to this point. This Canucks team so far has been even more consistent than the last roster to get us all the way to game 7, and it's been more exciting than ever to watch the boys play for the past few days.
Adding to that their longest losing streak is just 2 games. The rest are either bounce back wins or win streaks, all done within a span of 41 games
I still remember the hell the team had to go through around the 2/3 mark of that 2011 season. I think only Edler was still healthy of our first string D-men, and after him 10 games to his name Tanev was our next most experienced D-man, with the rest all being 2nd, 3rd and even 4th stringers, yet somehow, one veteran, a hopeful and a bunch of never will be's managed to hold the fort and keep the team in the hunt, until their veterans finally started to return and all but Tanev went back down. Tanev had earned his spot in the NHL by being a rock, a kid of 10 games, playing like a veteran of 10 years and he just stayed at that level his whole tenure here.
Talk about people raising to the occasion when under pressure!
This version of the Canucks isn’t even close to the level of the 2010 team. That team was tops in every important statistical category. The only weakness was the first line was soft and Machand was able to take the Sedins out of that series.
@@roblockhart8410 To be fair, Marchand was able to take the Sedins out because the refs failed to call any of the innumerable penalties he took blatantly, even including repeatedly punching Hendrik in the face with a ref staring right at it and seeing it and CHOOSING not to do his freakin job. When a player's allowed to flagrantly break the rules to the point of even endangering the health of the other team and get no penalties, while the other team can't even look at them the wrong way without getting the rulebook thrown at them, of course you know who's going to win. The ones with the extra players in zebra stripes playing for their team!
@@Seriously_UnseriousNo those calls don’t get called in the playoffs. Soft players can excel in regular season, especially they they took most good hits out of the game, but not in the playoffs. You got to have a team that won’t back down to anything. Anyways another W for Canucks tonight. Let’s hope they can make a move for a good Center for the Russian kid before the deadline.
That Myers’s shot was an absolute bullet
My hopes are up. I can't help it. Oh, lawd. Don't hurt me again.
I feel you...... Been hurt so many times...
If you’re an islanders fan I’ll tell you the islanders will beat the predators on Saturday. The predators don’t know how to be consistent lately and Saros is losing them games. And that’s coming from a Preds fan…. Sorry bout your loss tonight
@@Cheyennemae.A I'm a Canucks fan.
@@slamsM6 ah my mistake well the Canucks also beat the Preds this season
East coast sweep 🧹
At the halfway point of the season some Canucks might win some hardware
Hughes for the Norris
Demko for the Vezina
Demko+DeSmith for the Jennings
Tocchet for the Jack Adams
Brock Boesser's not exactly out of the running for the Maurice Richard trophy either. Quinn Hughes and Philip Hronek are also having a little sibling rivalry over the +/- trophy as well, and then there's the MPV that could well go to a Canuck
@@Seriously_Unserious As much as I'd love to see it, I don't think a Canuck will get MVP - there's just too many players playing so well...hard to justify/argue that there's any one player carrying the team.
Joshua that goal scoring machine!
Impressive considering this is a back to back
It's crazy how all the talk in Vancouver is we need another top 6 forward (which I agree kinda) but canucks have the most goals for out of any team and 17 goals in their last 3 games lol
Mik and Menko need another center, Suter is not a top six guy. Vancouver can trade Raty and this year's first round pick for an established NHL top six center. Maybe they go after Pavel Buchnevich. He did well when played center under defensive coach Berube, but lost his mojo when Bannister came
@@xlr0gd205 we have no cap unfortunately. But a 2nd line center would great. Suter has scored 20+ goals in a season before maybe he can step up
I haven't been a canuck fan for a long time. But been following Petterson since he got drafted and I've been a believer and a fan of the Canucks since then, through hard times and better times. Love to see the changes and progress this team is showing. I am truly amazed and inspired.
Oh captain my captain! What a goal by Quinn
we are all proud of you players, from the best to the least good, we see that you are finally playing calmly, humblely and as a team, all for one, one for all. don't lose your temper even when things get bad, be strong and united in good and bad times, we will always be with you. go guys go Canucks.
three in a row against the very best teams of the east. impressive!!!

Man even if Meyer’s didn’t get that goal this would have been his most impressive game of the season. I am stunned and so proud of this team.
Canucks didn't look like a team that played last night. Only thing to complain about is the PP but that's about it.
Swept the NY road trip 3-0, keep it up boys!
One more game tho. Still need to play Buffalo. They 3/4 against New York teams. Yes I'm clumping new jersey into that lol
Spanking NYI in their own home barn. Gotta like it. Feels like the ol' West Coast Express years again.
Rick Tocchet has worked miracle after miracle to get this team firing on all cylinders, and it's been amazing to watch
Come on Sportsnet, 1080p highlights it's 2024, you can do it!
Sweeping the "News", New Jersey D's, New York Isles, and New York Rangers. That is nice to see. I hope they can keep it up. On a side note, they get Soucy back from injury, then go 3-0 on the road? Coincidence?
The nucks’ are doing really good right now! I’m excited to see the next game

They should give Petey an assist on his goal from Miller.
very impressive win considering this is a back to back against a good team
Where's all you LAST YEARs "Get rid of Miller get rid of Garland" people now?
Сорокин настоящий подарок для островных. Я не помню что бы у них был кипер подобного уровня. Правда сегодня не его день, наверное потому что устал, он ведь у них в каждом матче стоит без отдыха.
What a goal hughes
Three games where the team was just sticking to the system and methodically took each and every game. Half way through, I guess this is not just a hot start... Still thinking if the team can add one more d-man and one more forward to allow them to have two consistent scoring lines, this team can be a force in the playoffs.
He shoots, he scores! Love it.

Man…listening to that 2002 roster really took me back.
For some reason the sedin/vigneault canucks rubbed people the wrong way, kinda like today’s Leafs. Everyone cheered their chokes. Everyone wants these canucks to succeed though. Let’s go!
I seen that Era. I was embarrassed at all the diving. This team plays hard and isn't flopping all over.
I can't believe they cut shorty going "mmmmm... five guys"

The Islanders looked absolutely brutal in this game. They were barely skating.
Lets go Canucks!
I know it's a weekday game but come on Islanders fans... Leaving the game with a whole period to go
Quinn Hughes is only the 4th NHL defenseman to notch 50 points with a +30 rating through first 41 games of a season! 👏👏👏
Paul Coffey did it last, back in 1984-85 and 1985-86, that was 38 years ago! Before that was Denis Potvin (1978-79), and Bobby Orr (6 times).

cizekas is struggling to get to the bench and no islanders helped him. says something about the team. canuck defence gave their forwards the night off.
As usual Bo Horvat - INVISIBLE and non factor. He is embarrassed that Canucks are skyrocketing without him.
