More changing channels on analogue sky satellite tv 1997

starting on discovery, changing to (8) sky gold,(9) uk gold, (10) mtv, (11) cnn, (12) bravo, (13) tcc family, (15) nicklodeon, (16) QVC, (17) Uk living something about fat and sexy, (18) cartoon, 1plus with a dubbed desperately seaking susan, DSF, 3SAT, NTV, PRO7, RTL2, RTL, SAT1, N3, VOX, and back to TLC disc channel

I thought Nickelodeon was on channel 7 back in the day...
It was on our Sattelite system. I may have the same reason for remembering Cartoon Network being on channel 9...

This totally depends which tuner you use. Back in the day there were not even much limitations. Also today 2020 there is tuners to digital tv where you can put channels in whatever channelposition you want!!
Im not 100% sure how sky and freesat boxes work since they always tell channelnumbers in uk sattelite tv.
In Sweden Viasat and Canal Digital have its crappy receivers that work this way totally blocked and locked channel numbers.
But if you use tv with inbuilt sattelite receiver or some better receiver with CA module you can put channels where you want! Also delete channels that you dont want and have these free German, English channels etc that you dont even need any modules or cards 😆👍
Ofcourse some UK tv and German tv also need smartcard. But in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland tv need smartcard to be viewed no free tv on sattelite 😠

@@davidbjork5063 You could (usually) put any channel in any position, but many tuners were factory/dealer set to channel position=transponder number (on Astra 1 at least). I recall RTL2 being on transponder 1 and on position 1 on several tuners I encountered, RTL (a.k.a. RTL Plus) on #2, RTL4 (later Super RTL) on #13, Cartoon Network/TNT on #37 etc.
