Terraria Rimworld and Kenshi were three of my favorite games among hundreds of others in my steam library before Palworld. I really hope the modder community gets behind this IP, I also felt the infinite potential of this game from day one back in January.
With the cheater problem no... cheating is so far ahead of any dev these days that PvP isn't really an option. They might realese something but i would not count on anything close to cheater free Gaming as we know it will change ALOT the next few years. Sadly
No! At least not the "unforgiving" part, because frankly Dark Souls and the like are a NICHE, if you want success you will not pander to the niche (or at least give people the option to opt out!)...your idea of "fun" is like stepping onto a rusty nail for me! I am sorry, but: NO! EDIT: I think you get it all wrong! Palworld is not Pokemon with PUBG, Fortnite and the like (and thank god for that! I can't stand those games, they are low effort crap in my opinion - I prefer games like Baldur's Gate 3, Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2, Fallout New Vegas, Witcher 3 etc.)...hell, I'd like them to take Palworld in that direction! Make it an RPG, give us companion characters (with their own pals!), give us a compelling story and narrative, more bases, a few true hubs (so towns and maybe a larger city even!) etc.

Ah a man of true taste. I definitely need to checkout Rimworld. Modding aside, if they just bring the roadmap to life we’re all good.
If this game gets some kind of pvp Ark or Rust then the game will have years of content.
Bingo

@@tnc4700 Feels like all games will move to kernel based anti cheat, phone number verification, or both at this rate.
@@KeemBG yes! The problem is ppl HATE anything that mention "kernel" anywhere.
I have yet to play open multiplayer, what hacks are people using? @@tnc4700
They could really convert this an MMo and have raids etc etc
I feel like we just need those updates and we can make our own servers called “Palword MMO”

I’m focused more on why the success of the mentioned games speak to the potential of Palwords success. I feel you though.
Minecraft did have early access in fact it was free
