I said I could turn ANY kid’s drawing into a toy. She called my bluff 🫣

    This looks so great! It makes me think people would probably pay a decent amount to have their ponysona made into a custom plush like this!

    You won’t have any trouble. I’m behind you all the way (phew, you lead Wheelie, I follow)
    I’ve got more ideas from this pic than I had from the others which shows how weird I am.

      It’s so comforting to know you’re behind me, you sure I can’t just slow down and let you take the lead this time..? 😉 Actually, after the shock wore off and I finished laughing at myself, I think I have an idea. It might end up being easier than the pony 😂👩🏻‍🦼

    What did the child say it was a picture of? That would help to know when creating the form.

      Great minds! 🥰 I was able to have a chat with him and he talked me through his drawing. It’s a round creature with big friendly eyes. I can see it in his drawing now I know what to look for. There’s not so much on the paper (or the magnet drawing board 😄) but so much imagination has gone into it ❤️ 👩🏻‍🦼Wheelie

    do you have a pattern for the pony!!! it looks so lovely :D

    • @wheeliemadeitcrochet
      @wheeliemadeitcrochet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aw thank you ❤️ I haven’t written a pattern for the pony (I’m happy with it now it’s done but quite honestly I don’t want to ever make another!!! 😂 Getting the legs shaped properly and able to stand up nearly broke me 😱) but when I was making it, I got very stuck at one point and googled ‘crochet my little pony’ to see what other people had done and there are a surprising number of photos of really good looking crocheted ponies and a few patterns. I’m sorry I can’t just give you mine, usually I write up at least a draft as I go but this time I just wrote scribbled notes on a bit of paper and threw them out. I hope you’ll be able to find a pattern you like! 😄👩🏻‍🦼 Wheelie

    There's a difference between drawing and scribbling. A drawing has a subject, a scribble is just a random bunch of lines.

      @SoozBeez ปีที่แล้ว

      No, no, no. And please don't ever say anything like this to a child. When my son had just turned five, his drawings still looked like "scribbles" to adults. But if you asked him, he could tell you exactly what was going on and each drawing was different & he never switched stories about them. His kindergarten teacher told him his drawings were meaningless scribbles one day & he came home devastated. It took me *months* to get him back to drawing for fun.

    • @wheeliemadeitcrochet
      @wheeliemadeitcrochet  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Definitely, but I think there’s also a difference between a scribble by an adult and a child’s first attempts at drawing 😊 I’m just having a bit of fun at my own expense with this video but my fave little 3 year old definitely did ‘draw’ this and when I had a chat with him he was able to talk me through it (luckily for me!) @@wheeliemadeitcrochet Yes, I'm only talking about children here. My son had previously taken so much joy in drawing and it broke my heart that a thoughtless remark by teacher who should have known better robbed him of it for as long as it did.

      @@SoozBeez it’s awful that a *teacher* would say that 😡 they should definitely know better. My son had a teacher who said a number of things along those lines to him, it has a big impact 😔 Maybe their words came out wrong or they were having a bad day, but the hurt it causes makes it hard to forgive. Why work in that kind of job if you can’t look at a child’s ‘scribble’ (or watch them dance, run, sing, whatever) and see that it’s something special? You shouldn’t have to be ‘good’ at something to be allowed to enjoy it. Particularly at such a young age. I’m so glad you were able to help him learn to enjoy drawing again 💕💕
