In my opinion this is your best video yet, exactly the type of content I was hoping to watch, great tips and what an excellent end result. I would never have the tools or equipment that you have but could quite happily watch this all day long. Well done and best wishes to you and your family 🇮🇪
Me - How can I make some rails in an hour with what I got? Doug - How can I make feature rich, better than factory accessory with style and pride? Awesome video, love how you tend to promote local merchants in your content. Classy. Awesome video.
That was the fastest 30 minute video ever. Just like you I am a fan of magnets. I bought 30 magnet bars from Harbor Freight and have every and any tool that has metal hanging from them. Awesome design and I would say your welding skills are pretty damn good.
I love to watch fabrication videos where the second one just appears without much mention. The amount of work it takes to make something like that is a labor of love, not convenience or money savings unless you are talking about paying someone to make the identical thing then you came out ahead financially. Nice design and execution, cheers!
WOW! 🙀 Your work with those angles is absolutely beautiful Mr. Doug. If it wasn't for all of those intricate angles and cuts, these could be "MASS PRODUCED", but they would come cheap... The "cross-power" of Triangulation and Angles isn't something you see these days.
Great video .I like fabrication videos and I appreciate the tips you work in there. I really like seeing your welding table and how you have it setup gives me ideas . Keep up the great videos.
Great, great workmanship, Doug. I am no welder but this was extremely informative. What an artist you are. Well done, Doug......jk...( my initials, NOT just kidding )
I use to free hand compound angles on a wet saw with 92% alumina ceramic pipe bricks for laterals and tees lol you doing that just reminded me of it. Looks good, your better with one eye than most with two 💪👊👍
Love the thought process! Btw you get 58° angle by putting the chop saw at 32° and flipping the piece / rotation of the chop saw vice - you probably know this, but sounded like not in the video :D
Would that 45°×45° cut be called a "Compound or Combination Cut"? For Fabricating a Brush Guard for my Garden Tractor I wanted to try a "Triangular Tubed Steel" (for uniqueness and durability), until my Material Supply store told me how much that would cost to be manufactured! So, I took square Tubing and removed one of the sides, and used my 2 Ton Press to "squeeze" the 3 remaining sides to a square 130° and Weld it up. Didn't exactly turn out "how I was expecting"...
It would be one in the same. Any angle tipped and also turned is a compound angle in the tooling industry where I was trained. Someone else might not see it that way, but when you add the third angle from the cope cut it becomes compounded from the other two.
Amazing video Doug!!! Love to watch the fabrication work with all the tips and tricks you use in the shop!!! Did you buy or make that fabrication table? I only saw (and bought) the plastic one you have with all the mechanic and attachments you put on. Maybe you could put a link to that fabrication table? It would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much!!! Now back to watching the video again!
Awesome video. Love the fabrication stuff especially to someone wanting to get into it. Any advice for a homeowner looking to get into welding for the first time ? What kind a welder to buy ? Multi process / straight Mig ? Basic startup tools /supplies ? Love the channel.
There is an awful lot to learn from the LEAN set-up technique that you developed. I have been in many fabrication and weld shops and none come close to the efficiency, cleanliness and organization that you practice! Great custom product and even better learning tool! Now I need to find something that needs powder coated… 🤔
Hey Doug, shaft collar is the word you we looking for (ring with set screw). You have that Toolmaker Mind, always trying to solve a problem. Not because it tough, but because it drives the juices. We're a special bunch 😅😅!!
The secondary magnet ground is a wicked idea, thanks for making these videos and such great insight. Is that main ground the factory style clamp on your miller machine?
Nice job Doug. Your knowledge of figuring the angles is exceptional. Very tedious work but you make it look easy. Can I ask what you do or did for a living?
@Charlie Murphy thanks! I am a journeyman tool maker in the injection molding industry, I was also a plastic process engineer with a side hobby of fabrication. I really enjoy carpentry, welding, fabrication and more importantly, just making something easier for myself and others. I like creating things.
A great video and you have some skills. Do you have engineering formal training or do you have a vision in your head and figure out what you need to do as you go?
I also have a portable bandsaw with a swag off road base... Awful handy. And I also have a Miller 220 ac DC welder. In the process of building a grill stand with both of those

This is exactly the video I've been looking for! I want to do square tubing on my 900s because everyone does round tubing. That's for the ideas!
Good luck, wasn’t bad to build but a lot of compound angles to cut. Kinda

You've got some great talents there Doug. Great job.

Great video Doug! Nice work on the design and fab job. Your shop setup is pretty amazing.
@Spicer Designs Thank You!!
Great job Doug, your skills never cease to impress.

Watching metal fabrication is like watching an artist with paint and canvass. Amazing. Great explanations all the way through.
Excellent job! Way better and tougher than OEM Accessories!!
Great, great workmanship, Doug. I am no welder but this was extremely informative. What an artist you are. Well done, Doug......jk...( my initials, NOT just kidding )
lol “I’m not very good at welding” says the guy stacking dimes
Your attention to detail and origination is amazing. Love all the compound angles, and your explanations.
Wow!!! Way better than the factory ones!!!!

Hi Doug
I like the fabrication videos the most. Just throwing my input out there. Lol
Ed from Chicago 🙂
@Ed Gundlach thanks, I will do lots more of them, but mostly in the fall when it cools down a bit more. Keep watching for them.
@@OneEyeCustoms
I will watch for them.
Thank you for replying.
Ed
That turned out really nice. I like the angles.
Loaded with amazing tips and information! Thank you for sharing!
I could watch these project type of videos all day thank you! Keep up the great work!
And to be clear, all projects! Just great
Looks great, Doug!
Amazing video! Great job on the kickers
looks great! good work Doug!
Great job Doug
Love the thought process!

Stellar work! Great fabrication, and solid explanation!
Utterly excellent!
@Ray Peroni Thank You!!
Great video. Very well made. I have the Miller 211 welder too. 👍🏻

@dave hogan I built the fab table. All from scratch to fit my needs in the shop. Thanks for watching!

@TMP Thanks MAH!! 😜
what size tubing and guage did you use? thanks great video
It is 1 1/2” square and .125 (1/8”) wall.
Thanks and glad you liked it!
Nice job…
👍👍

The secondary magnet ground is a wicked idea, thanks for making these videos and such great insight. Is that main ground the factory style clamp on your miller machine?
@Austin Oorsprong thank you. No, that clamp is something I added. The factory clamp was smaller and not as stout.
Nice job Doug. Your knowledge of figuring the angles is exceptional. Very tedious work but you make it look easy. Can I ask what you do or did for a living?

Good morning I was curious how far did they stick in or out from the tires?
On the back side, they are an inch past the fenders. Keeps trees from hitting the machine
@@OneEyeCustoms how far does the fender stick out from the rear tire?
👍
A great video and you have some skills. Do you have engineering formal training or do you have a vision in your head and figure out what you need to do as you go?
@Robert Giguere usually have a vision in my head and then figure it out as I go. Thanks for the comment!!
That’s the way I do things and it usually turns out the way I want it.

Good morning is there any way to contact you to talk about these rock sliders?
You can email me: oneeyecustoms22@gmail.com

If you say angle one more time 😂🤣
