    Cuts on a seat should be replaced by the dealer. Not that you need it now, but still. The main thing the dealer is being paid for is unboxing an assembly. So not cutting the seat is part of that.

    One of the best looking bikes on sale at the moment. In the U.K. we have Haynes workshop manuals, often known as the book of lies, follow closely at your peril 😂

    Just stumbled on your channel, I'm 64 years old from the UK and have been looking at buying an Enfield but the Continental 650. But I'm impressed with your choices of upgrades, so it's given me ideas. Great vlog and I have subscribed. Look forward to the next vlog.

    Hi from the uk, just watched your video on fitting the fly screen. I fitted one to my hunter last week it took about 30 minutes. I dropped the headlamp out then took out one headlight bolt at a time, swivelled the bracket out undid the indicator nut without disconnecting the wire in the headlamp then slid the wire through the slot in the mounting bracket and bolted it back up with the new bolt and spacers. Glad I didn’t have any instructions 😅 really enjoying your channel by the way 👍

      @QuasiMotard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching, and greetings from the USA! Those RE instructions were all wonky! I thought about pivoting the fork stays outward, but mine were tight and I didn't want to loosen the upper triple-clamp bolts or fork caps. So, I figured that mashing and manhandling the headlight bucket was the easier option.
      How are you getting on with your Hunter 350? Have you had any problems with your bike? I'm really enjoying mine so far, but there are a few niggles that I'll call out in my upcoming "owner's 1000-mile review" video. Otherwise, I'm really loving this little bike! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

      @@QuasiMotard Hello again! No I haven’t had any problems with the bike or the first one I owned either , yes that’s right number two. I actually bought one last November and put 2500 miles on it but sold it two months ago. I’ve got five bikes including an interceptor and decided to change one so the hunter went, three weeks later after a weekend away on the interceptor I decided I missed it and bought another 😄 I’ve now done 1200 miles on this one. I can tell you that the Michelin pilot 6 tyres are brilliant, I fitted them on the previous one. I also made some 20 mm spacers to raise the bars and that worked for me. I’m 5 ft 9 . I’ve also fitted knee grips and a rear rack plus the DNA filter but not the cover, I found the cover just generated more induction noise without any noticeable difference in pick up, will be interested to see what you think about the Fuel X. Regards Brenden 👍

    I think the person who designs the install for these should actually have to install one. Then the instructions provided, or not, would be a bit more clear and accurate. Nonetheless, Quasi gets it done. 👍

    Granted, I'm a child of the 60's and started riding in 1980, but I've never seen so much wiring and crap in a headlight bucket in 43 years.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Oh, man... you should see the rats nest living inside some of the classic Honda and Yamaha bikes! At least this RE has modern connectors and clean harness wrapping. Most of the older bikes have crappy bullet-connectors and crazy, uneven wire lengths that make the inside of the bucket a real nightmare to work in. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    that's a nice looking hunter, love that seat. I'm considering getting a hunter but what about the vibrations at cruising speeds? . great vids!!

    • @jaygrafton3048
      @jaygrafton3048 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Vibration is not an issue

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As @jaygrafton3048 mentioned below, the vibrations are negligible. The Hunter has pleasant vibe to it, so it's not sewing machine smooth, but it's not tingly or obnoxious like higher-revving bikes. I was very pleased with the overall ergonomics and comfort during my 150-mile initial ride home: th-cam.com/video/mqPJCGrTKkU/w-d-xo.html .
      I haven't put enough miles on the new "custom seat" to have an opinion yet. It's flatter and lower (thinner) than the original seat, so that might affect long-term comfort for touring. If the new seat reduces comfort for longer trips, then I'll swap back to the original seat for those rides (same as I do with my Rebel 1100 DCT). Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    i hope you had better luck than i have it seems everything i bought in the last month has been junk. my trailer for my Trail. my cruise control showed up busted. my new mirror wont hold in place one minute they right the next they pointing to the ground or up in the air. but i do love the new tires i got i just hope the last. because i got caught in one hell of a rain storm and they held the road great. i went right up a sand hill i couldn't climb a week before and had to ride in a large ditch for about 1/2 mile before i could get out. well i guess everything wasn't junk but it still was a suck ass week. and if you have a link to the trailer you have i could use it because i most likely will get one now that i freed up some money.

    Did the new seat change the height to the ground?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question! I didn't measure the seat height, but it feels like it reduced the seat height by about 0.5-1.0". The main difference is in the narrower front portion and flatter profile in the rider's portion of the seat. I haven't put enough miles on it to have an opinion on relative comfort yet, although I do notice it feels firmer than the original seat.
      I will try to compare and measure the two seats soon, and I'll post those results for you. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    Hey, you said at beginning of video that the new seat is lower than the old seat. I have bought the 350 Hunter and my toes barley touch the ground when riding the bike. Been looking around trying to find seat that is not as thick as current one. If the one you bought is lower tell me where you purchased please. Thanks

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, I upgraded my Hunter with adjustable clutch/brake levers: amzn.to/468zFVL . The original RE levers felt to wide and flat for my preference, so these adjustable levers worked better for me. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

      Howdy, Mike! My Hunter was totaled in a road rage incicent last October (th-cam.com/video/ryELMtEel8g/w-d-xo.html ). I bought it back from the insurance company in November and parked it at my warehouse ( th-cam.com/video/TeMytERhXBM/w-d-xo.html ). It has been sitting there since then... just waiting for me to figure out what to do with it. 😒 --QM

    How did you relocate the seat latch?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I pried the nylon grommet/stay out of the inner panel and then routed the end of the cable behind the frame rail. The end of the loop and the nylon grommet wedge perfectly between the frame rail and the inner plastic fender.
      The under-seat compartment is no longer "secure", but that's better than fiddling with that side cover whenever I needed to remove the seat. 😉👍 --QM

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I released the end of the cable from the plastic retainer clip and pushed the end between the plastic inner fender and the right-rear frame rail. The end of the cable wedges perfectly so it doesn't move, but I secured it to the frame with a nylon cable tie just in case. The pull loop sits just behind the frame rail out of sight and it's easy to reach. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

      I use a GoPro chest mount: amzn.to/4aY2JCR . It works very well for most of my garage and wrench videos. I usually wear it with the straps somewhat loose so I can stretch it away from my body to do close-up shots or to reorient the camera when I'm leaning at an angle. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
