Big thanks to Royal Enfield of San Diego for the opportunity to test ride the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. With only 1 cylinder, 349cc’s of displacement, and just over 20 horsepower, the ride shows that you don’t need a ton of power to have fun. It was a great time riding around the side streets of San Diego on the Hunter 350.

This is a hooligan bike with a lot of aggression with a lil twist of the throttle. This is the true smiles/km bike

I thought it gave a very nice and polite ride. :) Thanks for watching!

And if you swap out the air filter cover for a larger aperture one it gives a much deeper growl to the exhaust and a noticeable increase in power.

@@rosswilliams531 Nice! Do you know of any other mods for the Hunter 350?

Ive watched plenty of videos about upgrading exhaust, cams, fuel x plus gearing sprockets òn these 350's but I'd rather stick to just upgrading my air box cover as the improvement seems instant for little cost plus I don't want to invalid the warranty. If I needed more power then I'd probably just upgrade my bike. Good fuel seems to improve performance too.

I agree! They do have a good “classic” look.

I've got a few questions, as I love the Hunter. I'm trying to rid my life of vehicles that require to be plugged in to a scanner / computer in order to diagnose faults. Does this bike run on 1980s technology, and does the throttle use a cable, not an electronic sensor? I hate anything that requires a sensor. I want a bike I can service myself. I once owned a Suzuki X7, and I could have the crankshaft on the bench in 45 mins from having the bike in a running condition. Simplicity is my requirement.

Hi Jack! I looked closely photos in the RE Hunter 350 spec brochure and it does appear to have a throttle cable. It is fuel injected and has ABS so there is a computer somewhere on the bike. You'd like my 2002 Triumph Bonneville; it's carbureted, has throttle cables, and no ABS! Thanks a lot for watching! :)

I swapped air filter and installed the fuelx pro plus. It’s a totally different bike. Next I’m adding a full pipe and Hitchcock performance cam. It’s already plenty fast enough but it just needs a tad more on the larger hills here in the Smokies.

I just googled fuel pro plus--super cool! I guess the Hunter 350 has some hidden power, huh? I'll be you have some great roads to ride in the Smoky Mountains! Thanks for watching! :)

@@blacktoproamingHad zero issues, ive done the air filter & fuelx mods.
And it still brings a smile to my face.
Edit chain does stretch, it's a basic £23 chain, I'll replace at 10k,maybe before with a £77 heavy duty one.
Stock tires have been fine, replace with eh, street pilot?
