Building in Ghana is not easy. I just can’t deal with individual artisans so I have gone in for a reputable construction firm to do the building from start to finish. It cost more but I will rather deal with them than the headache. You have done so well and I can see you have a lot of patience so keep doing the good work. Shalom.
Shalum Shalum and greetings my sister. Stay encouraged. The rust can be coming from salt in the air or iron in the water. I had that problem with ours as well. Galvanise doors are better because they don't rust. We will be changing our doors.
The rust issue is a problem since you can't return the doors...the only suggestion I can make is to purchase special paint, in a clear color that you paint over the doors. It adds a rust preventive coating that stops rust and corrosion... maybe one of your painters can recommend one? Its just that you have a lot of doors, so it won't be cheap.
@@diaryofayummymommy I know, but there is always a solution...in my case my builder will be using wooden doors, except for the main entry door...I will speak to him tomorrow to see if its galvanized or not. You will get there in the end...we are rooting for you! 🙏
The iron on the land is high, and that's why the doors are rusting.. If the doors are not treated well, the high iron will cost it to rust.. Not many know this information
The situation of double work and having to correct lots of mistakes is a function of the educational system in Ghana. Analytical thinking is out of the door. There is group and conventional thinking only.
I kept trying to see if the video will show the bottom of all the doors but didn't see much except a couple. Please make sure you bring your tiler in now to check the gaps under all the doors to make sure you wouldn't go through this again. There has to be enough space for grout and tiles plus any minor leveling they need to do.
Sister, you are going through a lot building your house. I feel for you, and I know what you are going through because I am also building my own in Ghana. Don't let it discouraged because victory will be yours. The devil is a liar. Good job. The house is coming along beautifully. It is because you are a woman building such a big house. They will not listen to you. Keep your chin up. You have already won.
😂😂😂 that's Ghana oo, quality of things are never guaranteed and never refundable. I haven't even bothered to call him because nothing will come out of me, complaining to him.
@@diaryofayummymommy That is sad. Because I saved the receipt you showed and even told my husband about him. There should be some sort of warranty on the doors. They are too expensive for it not to withstand the weather.

Sending you hugs.

You are doing a great job!
Thank you. 🙏

Oh wow! Ocean breeze, I thought I was far away enough. I wish I had known about galvanized doors.
My father-in-law had the same problem with doors, fridges, door hinges, etc. because of salt in the air...he lives near the beach.

Thank you for the suggestion. It's quite unfortunate for me to have to deal with the rust. 😔 😟

Oh wow! You're right... I never knew this. How do I treat the doors? Please and thanks!
Fancy is beautiful, but security is more important.
Thank you, noted.
I hope they took consideration of the tiling with that door.
Yes, that's what I have been told. Hopefully, everything works out.🙌

Totally! They focus on the wrong things!
@diaryofayummymommy You are there, boots on the ground and even then, the mess happens. Some of us are relying on pictures and you can imagine....

Ok. Thank you. Very well noted. 🙌
A security door is ideal to protect valuable items kept in the bedroom.
I agree. Thank you so much. 🙌
Great progress but I hope you don't end up with more problems with he doors when you begin to tile the floor. I love how big your master bath is
Thank you. I have been assured, but you know how it is here... NOTHING is ever guaranteed even if they give you their words. Fingers crossed! 😒
U should have been used woods doors in the rooms
Yeah, we tried going that route, and we didn't like the outcome of our sample door.
Nice 👍 work 👍
Thank you.

@billyboss6465 The message was for Diaryofayummymommy so she will understand.
Please how much is the interior door?
I bought them last year. Kindly watch this video for more information👇

Perhaps, we need to question the quality of the door 🚪.
I suggest you report to big jeezy cuz one of my client also complained about same.
