The woman is magnificent! I have heard this many times, and each time it blows me completely away. Yes, it is sung faster than most versions, but it is flawless and filled with joy.
I’ll never forget the first time I heard her voice as The Shepherd in Tannhäuser; three notes and we were all sharing a cloud in heaven, then came Sophie in Rosenkavalier with Te Kanaws and Von Stade. Honey, it was all about, well, honey, velvet and satin!
Crazy fast! How does she sound so perfect at that speed? I can sing runs pretty fast (or so I thought), but I sound like mush trying to go at her speed... Incredible!
part of it is rethinking/ renewing the vowel you are singing with each new note "a..a..a..a.." instead of "a..:..:..:..", part is having a forward placement, part is having strong and flexible breath support, and part is hours of practice :)
I love her because you can literally learn techinique by observing her closely. She's helped me a lot to learn some resonance and tone emission mechanisms only because of her facial gestures and movements. She's amazing ♥
Lyrics Oh, Had I Jubal's Lyre, or Miriam's tuneful voice. Oh, Had I Jubal's Lyre, or Miriam's tuneful voice. Most people who like to give world class singers advice are non singers....or choral singers who are repeating what their choral directors tell them without understanding that choral singing and this kind of singing are two very different animals.
Piper Leopold this is not true. In order to produce a nice sound you need to have your larynx and your neck relaxed. By not opening your jaw so much this allows you to bring the sound forward instead of it being muffled in the back. That is key to producing a beautiful and projected sound. Opening your jaw is something pop singers do.
Actually yes, if you Open your mouth while singing, in might bem more difficult to understand the text than if you jeep it a little more closed. Obvisouly, the Higher the notes are, bigger Will be the needing of Open your mouth. :)
Lexi Lanni You believe everything negative you read and hear from people you don’t know? The few people I actually know who have been privileged to work with her say she’s super nice, professional bar none, and extremely focused and clear about what she is doing... Lazy, non-talented and inept people see genius as a threat-especially when coming from a woman, and a black one at that.❤️ When white men are driven, ambitious and take no sh*t, people applaud them and lick their arses. We missed out a brilliant star because of the assault on this woman’s gift because a few hacks couldn’t stand someone young, beautiful, extremely gifted and black coming on the scene and outdoing them so they concocted a narrative to dim her light. Read what actual stars who’ve worked with her have to say. They give glowing reviews. You’re already on the Internet, so Google it. Funny we can’t read the actual accounts from “success stories” who’ve worked with her and who are negative.🤔 Hacks!😎

Radiant voice and radiant presence. She’s just amazing.
I always loved her Handel so much. Her Semele was beautiful!

Dearest & Most Precious Kathleen Battle
You Are Indeed A Gift To Us ALL!
Crazy fast! How does she sound so perfect at that speed? I can sing runs pretty fast (or so I thought), but I sound like mush trying to go at her speed... Incredible!
She also had a tiny voice.
it ain`t perfect dahlyng...
@@Ruffiello As someone else with a tiny voice, it's great to have someone to look up to like her! Sets the standard quite high :)
Some people have fast voices

Brava! It's amazing how gracefully she glides over those sixteenth notes. She makes it sound effortless.
I love her because you can literally learn techinique by observing her closely. She's helped me a lot to learn some resonance and tone emission mechanisms only because of her facial gestures and movements. She's amazing ♥
Simply the best-no comparison. Absolutely brilliant! Ms Battle-❤️
absoltely perfect!
Wonderful as always
masterful!!
ABSOLUTAMENTE PERFECTA.... MARAVILLOSA... DIVA¡¡¡¡¡
that's the temple of Dendur. A great space, and so well sung; she sounds almost exactly like the recording she did of this.
Amazing!!
Me and my friend has to sing this for honors chorus
abbigail smith which state? We did this for NC honors chorus
My friend and I ...
that is the epitome of mastery!
It's the same key as the recording. (Absolute pitch here.) Tempo doesn't sound very different either, though that I cannot corroborate.

I agree with Alejandro - doesn't matter about the mouth her voice is gorgeous! (opening mouth like that creates more resonance by lifting soft palate)
Untrue 😬
Perfection.
laguardia... why???

To the poor fool who thinks "opening your mouth very wide" is what makes "proper singing" ..... educate yourself
Most people who like to give world class singers advice are non singers....or choral singers who are repeating what their choral directors tell them without understanding that choral singing and this kind of singing are two very different animals.
bro thats literally what ur supposed to in order to project your sound... so yes opening one's mouth wide is necessary to produce a nice sound.

But her mouth is very opened in the "O" shape (But she is so tyne and delicate hahahaha).
:)
this sounds like a lower key. I've heard her sing it higher and faster, but she's always amazing!
Kimberly Watson Same key of the recording and almost exact tempo. (Key of E Major) I agree she’s amazing!
she doesn't open the mouth very wide...is that proper for singing?
Actually yes, if you Open your mouth while singing, in might bem more difficult to understand the text than if you jeep it a little more closed. Obvisouly, the Higher the notes are, bigger Will be the needing of Open your mouth. :)
When she motions to the pianist, he smiles; but I wonder if that smile is riddled with disdain for her.
Why would you think that?
