Ranga is a mass hero who is secretly going through depression due to his mother abandoning him, him having to kill a man that was like a brother to him, and him not having any real friends. When he meets the boys, he becomes excited at the prospect of having real friends again.
Yeah pretty spot on reading of the film. We never considered the "depression" aspect of his character. To us it read more like a void he couldn't fill but one that he wasn't particularly bothered by, given how he's actually pretty peaceful minding his business when the boys happen upon him.
I think you missed a critical scene. 9:15 you can see that Ranga says that nobody is truthful and loves him for what he is. And in next scene you can see that Amban crying. Amban felt heartbroken hearing that Ranga doesn't see his dedication.
It is included in the essay but could you elaborate on the significance that you're pointing ? I think I did speak on the emotion there. Incase I missed it, do let us know!
I think he was pointing out the fact that no matter what effort one puts in maintaining a relation/smthing you will eventually at some point may be critisized/ not understood but as amban shows in the very next scene, we can accept that people makes mistake and we sometimes need to understand what they are going through and forgive Idk man its just my thought😁@@waterovertoiletpaper1652
@@waterovertoiletpaper1652Amban has solely dedicated his life for Ranga. There are scenes where Amban shows the scars Ranga gave him by stabbing him or as such out of anger and taking him to the hospital. As we see in the story telling scenes everything Ranga does is flex to Amban , even the pain . Ranga gave him. Amban never stuck around out of the greed for money but the love for Ranga. He's heartbroken that what he did was overlooked , the irony here is that everyone takes advantage of Ranga. But Ranga is not even considering Ambans love for him and includes him in the others. Despite this Amban is not sad much about the lack of acknowledgement but the pain Ranga is going through
Avesham is the entertaining, less artsy, humorous version of taxi driver. Ranga is lonely and he finds new friends whom he likes, spends a lot of time with them, becomes a sort of brother or a mentor to them but in a way he is betrayed even though it's really the 3 friends are afraid of what ranga has done, so in ranga's eyes it's betrayal so he acts with violence. I don't even know if we can interpret this film like this or even if it's meant to be conveying a deeper meaning but for me, it's really about loneliness and its violence. Even with all powers, he wanted good friends like the 3 guys. Travis buckler yearns for love and friends and goes to violent ways to be recognized or in a way loneliness and solitude corrupted him. I guess they aren't too similar but I enjoyed this small theme between a artistic, super influential, 70s classic film that is taxi driver and a mass action, humorous, entertaining, over the top acting film that is avesham. This is weird.
Absolutely incredible breakdown. The first time I saw Aavesham I thought it was okay. The second time I thought it was good. And the third time I thought it was great. Thank you for helping me understand what it was in the depths of this film that drew us to it so.

When I watched Aavesham for the first time, it was just my way younger cousins wanting to make me watch it.
