Just when I thought had all the art supplies I could ever use …. Off to search for foam to make my own stamps. Another game changer brought to you by Denise Love 💖🎨
I have had some I got at a dollar store ages ago. It has a sticky back, so after watching Denise's video a few nights ago I got to it and made a bunch of stamps! I already had foam core to stick it to, so easy peasy and so much fun! I can hardly wait to use them.
These are very cool! When you pulled the red/rust colour I said YES! 😂. And I agree, those dark flowers were a stunner when you pulled the tape. Very nice!❤
I love watching you paint. Your art is awesome and your description as you go along is informative and hilarious. There is always one thing you say that make me laugh out loud. Today’s phrase was “this weirdo green”. I literally laughed and my husband wondered what I was watching. Yep. Art can be funny too.
Denise, you are the QUEEN of composition! These turned out beautifully. And I am so glad you did one on making foam stamps. I've had some of the sticky-backed craft foam sitting around for absolutely ages exactly for this purpose, so it's time to get to it! Thanks, too, for the heads up about the Sennelier oil pastel fixative. I recently bought some absolutely lovely MontMartre Premium Extra Soft Pastels and never thought about how I'd fix them. See? Watching your channel is always a good thing! And I always come away SO inspired!!!
@@2lilowlsstudio A few nights ago I got out my craft foam and made a whole bunch of stamps while listening to an audiobook, so thanks for the inspiration! I've been meaning to do this for ages!
Yes Yes THIS IS my kind of crafting. Perfect imperfection. I wonder if I have the patience to cut all those pieces ...?🤔 Time will tell :) See you skillshare 😘🤗
Oooohhhh yea! Love these stamps….especially in love with the fact that they are hand made originals. That speaks to me! This set turned out amazing, and I may need to try out that color palette - love it♥️
Oh this one is so awesome. I made some stamps using fun foam like these for a project from one of my clubs. It was so fun & easy. This reminds me to pull them out again. Also I really love the 2 spiral flower stamps soooooo much❣️❣️❣️
Thank you for taking a break from yr journal book, I prefer the single watercolor paper. I really liked this color palette and personal stamps, I’ll need to watch that video, thanks ❤
I love this, well I know about the stamps, but what you did with them was wonderful. It's very inspirational. I really enjoyed it. I think I'll do something along the same lines stamps and different medium. Thank you very much for everything.
I draw designs with a ballpoint pen on styrofoam meat trays (after they're washed, of course) and I get nice designs that way too. But now, I'm inspired to get some foam and play.
That and I use the meat trays (washed) for applying the sticky back art foam to for making a stamp. The styrofoam trays aren’t recycled in my area at least and it is a wise use of a resource!
Home made stamps are so great! I’ve even made very large “panels” of stamps when working with big sheets of pre-painted or stained papers. I would have loved to see you add a metallic detail to finish off your pieces. You have lovely contrast with your shapes and colors, but a metallic would really make those pieces seem richer and more special. I save the gold foil from the Kerry butter! It makes a great addition if I don’t want to add paint! Even the Kerry or Kerrigold box has beautiful gold cardstock weight paper. Love your work. God bless.
Absolutely gorgeous with that red pastel on top of the blue. Yeeessss. You know what I'm thinking .....gold. But they are pretty. Have a happy and safe holiday.😊
So much fun, Denise, and the paintings both came out so lovely 🥰 I still have a couple more weeks of recuperation left and creating my own stamps will be a productive way to use up some of that time 😁 Have a great Labor Day Weekend 🇺🇸♥️
First time seeing your video! The final result is amazing (I kept my fingers crossed you’d leave the flower in the upper right!), and I’m definitely going to get some foam to make stamps! Subbed in five minutes of starting the process. 😺
@@2lilowlsstudio I haven’t really noticed that as an issue. But then, I don’t wash mine much. Also, since you’re at it making your own stamps you need to try out using little o-rings glued on your backing to make stamps. They come in all sizes and really combine for cool effects. Just make sure you get all the same thickness of your different diameters. I think you’d love those stamps.
@@2lilowlsstudioI was wondering about this. Since foam core is foam sandwiched between paper wouldn’t the paper outside be ruined when washed? And which glue do you find has the best longevity with the craft foam? Thanks everyone so much for another excellent, inspiring, informative, and fun video! 💜
The new class looks fun. I remember the fun of making stamps with potatoes. Do you do any additional cleaning of your brayer after rolling on the scratch paper? I loved the one on the right. The flower also makes a vibrating sun. I'm glad you didn't cover it up. It is a lovely focal point.
When I am adding home made stamps to a prepainted surface I often use a different paint for my stamps. For example, if my base is regular acrylic paint with its shinier surface then I will print with my stamps From my matte collection of paints. Makes for a nice contrast. Of course watercolors as a base is lovely as well.
Those foam stamps have to be the uber coolest thing I have seen in a while, Denise. I will definitely check out your skillshsre class. Gorgeous!! Also I enjoyed your Skillshare foam stamp class and loved this video too! Do you just pick a card from the color cube randomly and use the first card you choose? Or do keep pulling until you find one you love? ‘Do the weirdo colors’…😂😂😂😂
Sometimes I do a pull and go with which ever one I got… some days I look for one that looks interesting or extra wild 😂… so glad you enjoyed this and the class. Thank you! 🥰
