Great song, amazing performance. This concert is from 2007, and the first and last time they performed as Led Zeppelin since 1980 when John Bonham passed away. The drummer was Jason Bonham, John Bonham's son. There were 20,000 in attendance, and there were 20,000,000 people who tried to get tickets.

They had a few performances between 1980 and 2007 (like Live Aid 1985). But they were disastrous.

@ I don’t count the Live Aid because it was only a few songs, and a different drummer . Plus like you said they sounded horrible. I understood that after 2007 the performances weren’t public so I don’t count them.

Worth noting John Paul Jones plays the bass line on foot pedals on the keyboards throughout the song. The drummer is John Bonham's son, Jason Bonham.

Back in the day when the Rock gods roamed the earth and made it tremble, this band towered above the rest. There is nothing today that compares. I saw Zeppelin 3 times in the 70's and it was like it happened yesterday. I have followed Jimmy Page since his time with the Yardbirds along with Jeff Beck. When Zeppelin broke up with John Bonhams death, it was like a member of my family died. Now that Verdy has be bitten like I was back in late 1968, she is enjoying the same road which has some bumps, but the destination is worth it.

You also need to checkout this song live at Knebworth (1979), with John Bonham still alive. Jason does a great job filling his dad’s shoes, but he’s still not quite his dad. Plant can still belt it out, but not as easily as he once could, they all did so amazing. Just an FYI: you can see their live concerts on TH-cam, if not the full concerts, certainly the majority of them.
Royal Albert Hall (1970) Madison Square Gardens (1973) Earls Court (1975) & Knebworth (1979). They were each amazing, & since I know you either did all their music, or at least 99% you’d love watching the full concerts. Thank you for your reaction.

One thing about this song is that each member of the group has some absolutely great standout sections. This really shows off the talent and range of every person.
The drummer for this is Jason Bonham, who is the son of John Henry Bonham. This concert took place on December 10th 2007.
I suspect Led Zeppelin will be much more lax about copyright issues right now (this month in particular), due to the new movie "Becoming Led Zeppelin" , which was released to theaters on February 5, 2025. They *want* everyone to be reminded about the history of the group and the heights they reached.

Tried to get four tickets for the show the second they went on sale. Four plane tickets from New York and a week in London was the plan. So much for plans. 😂 I was completely shut out, along with 20 million others scrambling for 20 thousand tickets. So glad you were there. The DVD produced is quite good. Saw them three times in the 70’s and it would have been four, but unfortunately the New Orleans show was canceled after they arrived and Robert had to immediately leave to be with his son who sadly didn’t survive a virus. Did see Robert’s Pictures At Eleven and Principle Of Moments Tours, but what you saw was a “one and done” show for the ages. Regards

This was in 2007... Led Zeppelin decided to reunite for 1 last live performance for charity to honor their late former label head Ahmet Ertegun of Atlantic Records, who presided over Zeppelin's recording career... It was an 'invite only' show w/ donations as a requirement.
Robert Plant was always lamenting that Led Zeppelin's career was marred w/ bad live performances that were filmed... and he and the surviving band members wanted to have 1 memorable performance filmed for the band's legacy.
Late drummer John Bonham's son Jason Bonham was enlisted to play drums as he had in the past for one-off Zeppelin performances... He had some success in the 80's w/ the band Bonham and tours often as a Led Zeppelin tribute band the Led Zeppelin Evening.
After the show, Jimmy Page wanted to do more gigs but Robert Plant refused... He told Jason Bonham that it had to do w/ missing his friend John Bonham on drums every time he heard a Led Zeppelin song performed... Plant refuses to perform 'Stairway to Heaven' even w/ his solo band nowadays.
