Thank god you are both safe and sound !!!! I’ve missed your beautiful faces so much. You’re certainly making up for lost time tonight !!! Great reaction as usual. God bless you in these troubling times
@watcher9987 Led Zeppelin were actually playing this live in concert BEFORE the Beatles had finished recording Helter Skelter. The public heard this first.
Speak for yourself, I've had the same Top 5 Zep tunes for half a century, their order unchanged in all that time: 1) Kashmir 2) Stairway To Heaven 3) Whole Lotta Love 4) Babe I'm Gonna Leave You 5) Going To California
Back when this album first came out I was living nearby to Beirut...which was still called "The Paris of the Middle East". I really, really hope that it can earn that title again someday soon.
Always miss you both when you go a ways between reactions. Glad to see you back. Love from The Bay Area California. Keep the Zeppelin train moving on and on. So many great songs awaiting!
The thing about Zeppelin is their ability to change your outlook on what their best song is. Every other time you hear a new one, it becomes your favorite. I have a whole list of my favorite Zeppelin songs.
Thank you so much for doing my pick! I love Led Zeppelin and I love you guys and I hope you’re OK!… Robert Plant had just turned 20 years old when this was recorded. What you’re hearing is his voice when he was young and he actually had a range to go from deep to extremely high, and he was very powerful, and his voice was very full. His voice changed quickly through the years mainly due to all of the touring and live shows… This one has always been in my top five and I guarantee you if you crank it up in the car while you’re cruising and listen to it a couple more times you’ll love it even more!
Thanks for getting them to react to this. As the years go by, I am more and more convinced that LZ 1 was their best album -- so raw, so energetic, so perfect . . . .
Firstly, I had been worried about you two, so I am very happy to see that you are safe and sound! Carol, you've figured it out, trying to choose a Zep favorite is a fool's errand! Also, there's just nothing cuter than you in that Led Zeppelin shirt! ☮️❤️
LZ's 1st album is nearly unanimously considered one of the greatest debut albums in history. There are several covers on it (although I prefer to label them as re-arrangements, as they always sound far superior to the songs that influenced them!), and some legendary originals. This song is #10 on my LZ greatest song list! You guys are wonderful to watch, and not just your LZ reactions either! You should consider doing the 1st album (minus the ones you've already reacted to!) Best of luck, and stay safe!
I once thought I had the talent to form my own band and be like Led Zeppelin. That was back in 1969, and it never happened. Instead, I've listened to everything they've ever recorded and now I consider myself the world's greatest air guitarist, bass player and air drummer. At 72 years old I'm just like you guys albeit I don't look as good as you guys do rocking out to the best band in the world!
I knew a bloke in a band, honed their skills for 3 years and thought they were the dog’s bollocks. Got a gig supporting (early) Squeeze and played the set of their lives. Squeeze came on and blew the roof off and my mate said his band packed up their kit, went home and cried and never played again.
Welcome back and thank you for doing this track. I was 15 when I purchased this LP, Led Zeppelin and it remains my favorite from them to this day. Their sound hit you square in the face, and no other band sounded like them. It is the heavy, blues-based roots of this record that remains so timeless. It is such fun to see how after all of these years Zeppelin still moves new listeners. What a great reaction. Blessings!
Another one of their really great songs, but then so many are. Great for not being together that long. Great version from Royal Albert Hall (1970). Thanks for your reaction.
Haven’t seen this page since maybe late last winter- I love the interaction between you two. Your a lucky man Elle as Carol is one beautiful lady and expression’s and a beautiful smile and I can remember it between you both.
so glad to see you both again...one of best songs off of the debut album...do all of us (and yourselves) a favor and react to "Babe I'm Gonna' Leave You" - studio track from the first album - it's up there with "Dazed and Confused" as one of there best songs from that album IMHO...again, great job and glad you are back and appear well..take care
I had got tickets thankfully to see Robert Plant for my first two times in 1990 for his Manic Nirvana album tour 1st in Alpine Valley Wisconsin that summer then back in Chicago around October at the Rosmont Horizon (Allstate Arena) which both shows I was with my girlfriend back when we were around 18 and it was 2 years after his most successful Now and Zen album. Yet his Manic Nirvana one was his most aggressive album that was like a live performance but once you saw the concert, it was even better. Now back then in 1990 is When The Black Crowes opened for them along with the other show was Alannah Myles “Black Velvet” 1st show we sat in the back of the Pavilion while the rest was on a huge hill on the grass. Now when we saw Robert Plant at the Rosmont Horizon in Chicago. We were just sitting(standing) back 14 rows on the main floor in front of the stage. It’s great on film yet being there with your loved one is a experience you’ll never forget. We got his dark purple-light blue Tie Dye concert T shirts which has a picture of a few white like orchid flowers surrounded in small writing R.Plant Manic Nirvana tour which was outlined in black while it was filled in with gold colored glitter which years later I had a great friend that she had like a glitter pen that filled it in.
I haven't seen anybody do this one yet. Good selection! Elie, I guarantee you won't get bored the next time you hear this. You'll start to anticipate things in the song. "Bring It On Home" is the equally-powerful closer of LZ-II. Led Zeppelin really knew how to close out an album!
Another of Zep's great hard rock blues tracks, this one wrapped around a center piece cover of "The Hunter" by the legendary blues guitarist Albert King. But it's time to sample another signature Zep style; mystical soundscapes punctuated by rocket-launching riffs: "Over The Hills And Far Away", "What Is And What Should Never Be" and "Ramble On" (which many consider their best song). Can't wait to watch you react to those three, especially "Ramble On".
Don't forget the little cross-reference to (the folk/country standard) Kisses Sweeter Than Wine and the fact that the first/last parts are kind of an amalgam of Wolf's How Many More Years and BB's It's My Fault.
This is in my top 5 Zepp songs. It is always a journey no matter how many times (pun intended) you listen to it and has one of the deepest grooves with a killer baseline.
Oh thank God, you guys have been missing for a while and I have been worried. I saw video of IDF planes flying over your city and said a prayer for you and just like that, here you are cranking some Zep. God bless you guys and take care of each other. Prayers work! 🙏🙏
Aww you're so amazing! Thank you so much for the lovely comment, it really made our heart happy ❤️❤️ We're currently in Qatar but if we were in Lebanon at the moment, we would be stressed out for sure! Appreciate your concern 🙏 much love ❤️
It's certainly one of my Favourites too Carol 👍. and what Superb and Insightful Analogies as each Song of theirs was just SO diverse it certainly would've been a 'fools errand' to try and predict which experimental direction they were going to turn towards next and to liken their insurmountable talent to a 'Box of Belgian Chocolates' was pure genius - Thank-you for making an elderly guy very happy and smile from ear to ear 🤓
As a side note for this song. 1. It was the first time Robert Plant heard his voice on playback in a studio 2. When performed in Boston in early 1969 at the famous four shows at the Boston Tea Party theatre, when this song was played fans were banging their heads on the stage. Thus the phrase ‘head banging music.’ The fourth show was not even advertised it was just added and the band played their set twice and unrehearsed 1950s covers.
Zepp has been my Fave from the start. Just amazing. I really enjoy watching peeps react to them. You two are awesome. Beautiful couple and totally into it. Thanks for the Reactions!
Oh man, laying on the floor with my Kenwoods blasting this in a totally dark room!! Coping a buzz, hell yes!! This brings those memories flooding back!! Thank you!!
I am SO HAPPY and relieved that you both are safe and sound! I have been thinking of you both the past few days as the terrible news keeps coming in. DENNARK DEFINITELY, that’s the best way to begin listening to them. I believe that it was their First time on the Radio and it was amazing. Remember that this was the late 60’s when rock and roll was in its infancy 😮😮😮😮😮👍👍👍❤️
Aww YAY i **Luv** your reactions & OMG i **Knew** he was going to say THAT! bout the middle part BUT OMG ya have to see this being played Live at **Danmarks Radio 1969** **BabyLedZeppelin** when they were pretty much just starting out iT is one of my MOST **Cherished&Luvd** things in this world! **ManyPixieHugz&Luvz**
Well wishes to you two in these times. As for LZ, I would love to see you guys do a “tiers list” or ranking of the songs you have heard, and then for the new ones (still plenty to go) you can just keep adding.
Great to see you both again! There is a live version of this song I love & think would make a great reaction video. It's "How Many More Times (Danmarks Radio 1969)".
Haha I suggested this a while ago as I’m a drummer and Bonham’s drums are amazing. This was from album one and Bonham did this song during a jam and he got this on one take! Another thing about Led Zepp is Bonham never payed the same sort of beat twice. As for live versions…the Earls Court 74 version is class! Even the best get it wrong and it’s a long one. But towards the end when they all come back in they mess it up and Robert has to stop them…but what follows, gives you goosebumps. Great reaction, and you never stopped it!!! 👌👌
Great to see the two of you again, and especially when you're reacting to Led Zeppelin (I love that black Zep shirt with the yellow writing). That was the closing track from their debut album, and it drew from many influences, including blues legend Howlin' Wolf.
Hey guys, the fun part now is to watch the live versions and see how different they are. I would recommend the "Damarks TV special" first. Then the "Royal Albert Hall" version. All 3 are totally different. Nice review
I too am glad you're both safe and doing well....scary times Elie, since you are wearing a t-shirt with Chicago, Illinois on it I think it is high time you give the band Chicago a listen. Everyone's go to is the live version of their song '25 or 6 to 4' (7/21/1970) Tanglewood (official video). This live version features, what is arguably, one of the best live guitar solos ever recorded.
The GOATS ~ Greatest Rock n Roll band of all time! So glad you guys had the ability to get out of Lebanon. Which, as your country, I'm sure you love, but yes, it is obviously not a good situation there or in the region, so I trust that Qatar will be to your liking and stay safe! As for the reaction, cool u started them again with the MIghty Zeppelin! I love how Carol is always trying to "find" the beat, the rhythm of a song, so she can properly (sitting down) dance to it! And by God, I was right in predicting that she'd GROOVE to the superfunky drumming of Bonzo at 6:28! --Steal Away, Rosie!

Yep I was there!

You skipped over Helter Skelter and In A Gadda Da Vida
That’s definitely one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind.

Absolutely correct. Every Led Zeppelin song you hear is your favourite until you hear the next one . Every song is awesome.

Now just add The Cult, and you'll achieve Nirvana 😉 ~
Good to see you two safe and well. Keep the Led Zep going. You 2 are in my prayers.
John Bonham took everyone for a sonic ride that is simply breath taking on this track.
