    My definition of a crash, broken prop or something easily replaced, Minor Wear and Tear. Anything fixable with a bottle of CA, Minor Damage, anything that can be fixed but takes a little longer and uses a bottle of Epoxy, Major Damage. When it hits the ground so hard, you have to use a broom to sweep it up, or you now have the same number of parts you started with when you opened the kit box, or what's left, fits back in the box, that's a crash.

    • @billp4
      @billp4 ปีที่แล้ว

      And those last ones are what we want to see

    • @jamesberwick2210
      @jamesberwick2210 ปีที่แล้ว

      @billp4 people asked when was a model finished? I'd tell them when I need a broom to clear the runway. I've had two midair crashes. Same two pilots, the only ones in the air, two different fields, years apart. Tell me that isn't weird.

    At first glance I see a business opportunity for better landing gear!

  • @vmoney9106
    @vmoney9106 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It seems to me, having flown RC as a youth and not for 20 years, that there should be a landing mode (and even takeoff) for the radio that cuts the throw of the Servos in half so that the pilot doesn’t overcorrect so much. Seems like that’s a big cause of these crashes.

    • @richw0123
      @richw0123 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      a lot of radios have this, its the flight conditions switch. But it needs setting up. edit - Flight conditions (other brands have different names) are a way of having one switch change the mode of the transmitter in a holistic way, all the various individual rates that can be changed with individual rate switches, and whatever trims or mixes can be done in one go. New radios are really cool.

    • @craigschumacher7544
      @craigschumacher7544 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s called a rate switch and you are supposed to set it up

    • @tbobborap1
      @tbobborap1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      all a pain in the arse rich, giving you more work load and complications leading to crashes and accidents when not used properly, ive been flying since 1983 and dont use rates switches on any of my models, my thumbs are my rates and have served me well !

    DON'T TAKE OFF, OR LAND ON GRASS!!!!!!!!!!

      Reality is Lance my boy is that probably 95% or more clubs at least here in Australia have grass runways. Do you actually fly RC?

  • @Vipcioo
    @Vipcioo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sorry to repeat myself, but the bigger the boys, the bigger the toys. But with that only the ego grows, not the landing skills.
    When I was learning to fly, I practiced hundreds, if not thousands of times landing on the direction, with the appropriate path of descent from the ceiling and hitting the designated landing area.
    Many of these colleagues have never heard of it. But they had the money to buy a set.
    Unfortunately, the biggest mistake is "strangling" the landing model.
    And these gentlemen keep doing the same thing. Then surprise that the model does "push-ups" and bounces off the grass. These are the basic mistakes of a novice, not a pilot with 20 years of practice...
    They definitely lack regularity in training, practice and knowledge of how to do it.
    In real aviation, they would never pass the solo flight test. That's for sure.
    So in the end, they just pay a lot for mistakes.
