Not ashamed to say it .. I choked up in the theater … the audience was riveted. Cruise commands every scene. Charisma and presence is overwhelming. Fantastic pro American movie. It’s rare to see these days but it’s a home-run.
How about at the last second when he says “I’m sorry Goose” because he thought he was going down with Rooster. It sounded like he really meant it. Just an incredible movie. Best Cruz ever!

Representing everything the U.S. used to uphold during that time period in life. This film was like a tribute the American spirit. From the first Top Gun to this one.
at that time my father invited me to watch it in 1986, because he was an air force soldier, I really liked this film and now it's my turn to take my son, and my son wants to watch it for the second time, RIP my father
i Saw it Yesterday. i've Never expérienced a movie like this since the 80's and 90's. i understand and fully agree that he waited until it becomes possible to see it on theathers. AMAZING.
Absolutely amazing. The movie is so good. I want to watch it again even after watching it 3 times. The soundtrack is also amazing, fills you up with nostalgia and energy.
Cracking movie , I’ve waited 30 odd years for this sequel , my most fave 80s movie ever , and as soon as that tune played and the screen text appeared , it was a nostalgia filled modern day Adrenalin ride return to my youth and a thrill ride back to 2022 from start to finish. Tom cruise was born for this role and I think this reboot will end up being the pinnacle of his career and define him forever as Pete Mitchell (call sign Mavrick) . The scene with ice man was heart breaking and divine all at the same time , the new recruits where spot on , same camaraderie and who has the biggest balls as the original . This story has everything original fans would want and demand and enough thrills an action for the new class of 2022 fans will love . Tom cruise take a bow son
I was in 6th grade when I watch the first move. I had posters of Maverick in my old room back in my hometown. Every time I had a haircut, I would tell the barber, "Boss, Tom Cruise Top Gun cut.." hhahahaha Saw Maverick last night, with my wife... We love it... Old school F14s still kicked some a$$. Will watch it again!
Ten viewings in and counting. Still getting Goose Bumps at the opening. Still getting choked up at the appropriate places. Worth every Penny I’ve spent on it. So grateful for this film!!

I got teary eyes in the theater probably over 10 times. 1. Mach 10 2. He puts his flight jacket on again and the Taiwan flag 🇹🇼 was initially removed in all trailers to please China two years ago but now it’s back! 3. He got thrown out of bar and stood there listening to that song that brings him back to he and Goose the good old times. 4. Iceman comes back to this movie (suffering from throat cancer in real life) and meets Maverick the last time. 5. Iceman asks Maverick, who’s the better pilot? (Remember when they were young and that intense competition?) 6. Iceman’s funeral. Meaning, his role will be forever gone. 7. Maverick steals the F-18 just to prove that this mission can be done! 8. He promises Penny he will never leave her again. However, he then has to take the lead for mission and may not come back. 9. He got saved by Goose’s son Rooster a second before the Iranian attack helicopter fires at him. 10. Comes back with enemy’s F-14, his good old bird, and Rooster is in the back seat. I actually shouted out loud “Murica!” when the light turns on. Gotta love our troops and our greatest nation USA on earth.🇺🇸
I cried a lot as well. Think more so than I did in Titantic and that is the the film that opened my fload gates for movie emotion. It is an epic movie and I want to see in again in the cinema. I exceedingly rarely say that!!!
Top gun was average, but Iconic, I was soo sceptical about this movie and couldn't see how an ageing Cruise would work as Maverick. The reviews for once are accurate, absolutely loved the film, the story, how Maverick is written, the visuals and the audio is ON POINT! Not just better than the original, one the best movies of the last decade!
Grew up watching Top Gun dozens of times over the years, fantasizing about being a fighter pilot in my late teen/the early 20s, could not join AF due to eyesight but ended up learning to fly and earning private pilot after the big 50 :-)
It isn't, I just watched in for the 3rd time (in Australia) and the cinema was full, there were 18 screenings of it just in this one cinema complete today, as a comparison Jurassic Park had 16 screenings. Not bad for a movie that's been out for nearly 4 weeks!
When I first heard about a Top Gun sequel, I thought “oh great another cheap nostalgia cash grab”, then it turned out to be one of the best written movies I’ve seen in a very, very long time.

I gather that most people were pretty skeptical about the movie at the very beginning, it being a sequel with Tom Cruise and all.... then words start spreading...and it just blew up! Outstanding! Completely out of this world!
My Father loved the Top Gun 1986 and i love it too. But my father Died 2012 on cancer . I think he liked the Sequel of Top Gun Maverick. Rest in Peace Dad, i love you and miss you so much
As an '80s kid who still holds the values true I do hope some of our younger generation will get the inspiration we did through great movies like this.

I saw the original in 1986, when Reagan was Commander in Chief. He made us proud to wear the uniform, be American, and to fight for the ideals it stood for. Now my grown daughters hope after seeing "Maverick" there are still real men out there to carry on what I and others sacrificed for so much. We need more " Mavericks" than " Yes" men.
Today, just learned that fictional country that was making a uranium enrichment plant in this movie in real life has the capability of making a nuclear bomb. God help us

I definitely think Maverick was good - but honestly it wasnt great .It has the elements of a great movie - but its the answer to the public desre to see a real movie, real story, and real action - unlike Marvel, Star War Wars, and even Batman.
