A hauntingly beautiful song that lends itself to the life lived hard, fast, young and free, dangerous, on the edge, yet, innocent, beautiful, pure, mysterious, moment to moment and fleetingly…….❤ Madonna sang this beautifully.
I totally love this version! I wish she would put out stuff like this in an awesome box set one day. Just rarities and different versions of her songs. I can only have hope that one day she will. Then, I can die happy.
Another achievement in POP music - one of the best songs of the 80's - sweeping, enthralling, engrossing and controlled - and the vocals came from the original demo which she never re-recorded - a career defining song that is still relevant almost 30 years later!

I've learned my lesson well
Hope I live to tell
The secret I have learned, 'til then
It will burn inside of me
I know where beauty lives
I've seen it once, I know the warm she gives
The light that you could never see
It shines inside, you can't take that from me
A man can tell a thousand lies
I've learned my lesson well
Hope I live to tell
The secret I have learned, 'til then
It will burn inside of me
The truth is never far behind
You kept it hidden well
If I live to tell
The secret I knew then
Will I ever have the chance again
If I ran away, I'd never have the strength
To go very far
How would they hear the beating of my heart
Will it grow cold
The secret that I hide, will I grow old
How will they hear
When will they learn
How will they know
A man can tell a thousand lies
I've learned my lesson well
Hope I live to tell
The secret I have learned, 'til then
It will burn inside of me
The truth is never far behind
You kept it hidden well
If I live to tell
The secret I knew then
Will I ever have the chance again
A man can tell a thousand lies
I've learned my lesson well
Hope I live to tell
The secret I have learned, 'til then
It will burn inside of me
Amazing X 1000
This song is simply a masterpiece
Songbird, my soul is getting ripped to shreds right now. I know It'll pass like tears in a swimming pool but my song keeps playing.♥️😎
A hauntingly beautiful song that lends itself to the life lived hard, fast, young and free, dangerous, on the edge, yet, innocent, beautiful, pure, mysterious, moment to moment and fleetingly…….❤ Madonna sang this beautifully.
Papa don't preach...because of anti abortion.
Still sounds great in 2019👌👌👌
And in 2020
@@rushanegayle5703 And in 2021
And even in 2022.
Masterpiece. Really heart felt music & song.. I hope to live to tell how good this really is to all I know in life !
Maravilloso. Madonna. Los 80. El siglo XX. La vida. Los sentimientos. Cerrar los ojos. Sentir con todo tu organismo. La música. Dios.
I totally love this version! I wish she would put out stuff like this in an awesome box set one day. Just rarities and different versions of her songs. I can only have hope that one day she will. Then, I can die happy.
warner is to blame for this not happening
Another achievement in POP music - one of the best songs of the 80's - sweeping, enthralling, engrossing and controlled - and the vocals came from the original demo which she never re-recorded - a career defining song that is still relevant almost 30 years later!
I really like your music, including this one, it was part of my adolescence, I love it.
