Thanks for showing interest in this. This is such a great synth and a lot of fun to use. I believe more video content is definitely worth pursuing on this, so let me see what I can do.
Can't say I ever heard of this one! Yes, perhaps I am living under a rock a little, but I am glad I popped out to get some fresh air, because this synth looks VERY capable. Some great, phat and warm sounds and appears to be quite versatile. Definitely not a one trick pony with all the different sounds this appears to be able to make. Thanks for sharing this!
You are most welcome and I am glad I was able to put you onto this. You are right, it is an extremely capable synth and definitely versatile. There isn't much you couldn't make with this synth and I challenge anyone to try and make a sound that is bad with this thing!
@@maxpecas2 hehe, well I try and not over saturate myself with too much software and too many plugins, as it gives me options anxiety. I tend to just stick with what I know, but surprises like these are nice too!
There is definitely nothing wrong with that approach either. Often times we all make the mistake of taking on too much software and assume that we are being held back by a lack of software, or how the 'next big thing' is exactly what you need to make music. Truth be told, this is actually a distraction and it hinders us from being creative. MANY incredible tracks were made on a fraction of what we have available to us today. Everyone has to decide what works for them and stick with it, regardless of what it is, or how old it is. In risking contradicting myself, once in a while see what is out there and what may improve your workflow, just be sure to not allow yourself to get carried away with it all!
There is tons of them too! Same with user presets to be found online. Makes me wonder.. do enough people have this synth that it would be worth creating a preset pack of my own for it?? 🤔
I am going to give it more thought, as it takes a lot of time to put these packs together and they have to be QUALITY if that is going to happen. I have another pack coming out soon that I need to finish first!
Now is a great time to grab it, with it being on a massive discount! Saving money is good, especially if it means getting a new toy to play with in the process!
Not sure about sizing off hand, but for $99, you get a permanent license. There is also a monthly payment option, that vies accent to even more content if you wish.
Great! The synth is very versatile and it all depends on how you use it. If you want more subdued sounds, just choose calmer waveforms and dial back on the distortion and saturation.
@@STRANJAH Il a gardé ce truc tribe, rave et happy hardcore, ça peut sembler anachronique mais ça a une certaine fraîcheur en cette époque où l'informatique nous innonde d'outils et de contenus.

In the video I was using the Beyerdynamic 990. I also use the AIAIAI TMS Wireless+ Studio Headphones and when I'm on the road, I use the Sennheisser HD 25's. Hope that helps and thanks for checking out the video!
It is definitely a good contender for such a title. I wouldn't say it is a direct replacement to Serum, as Serum is still quite capable, but Current 2.0 is a worthy companion for sure! Use both simultaneously, or if one is better suited for particular sounds or workflows, use that. We are definitely in a good era when it comes to synthesis!
I have a killer system that dominates everything under the sun so when something doesn’t scream for me, I know it’s the plugin. I imagine Current 2 has more optimization in store over the coming year and then it’ll be up there with all of its competitors in no time.
Definitely. The great thing about software, is the ability to have them updated and made more efficient over time, even with newly added features. System updates to the OS, drivers and motherboard BIOS can also come into play, which also helps.
LOL. Yes, at the current discounted price it is WELL worth it. With it being a newer synth, it will keep your toolbox more current as well. Hey, did you see what I did there!? 😆
@@STRANJAH Ah, that makes a much better proposition. I went to the site, and the "bundle" was about $450 including Current, Rift and all the effects, so it seemed necessary to purchase the effects in order to get them with the synth.
@@STRANJAH maybe he's just an Arturia fanboy? i don't anything about Pigments, besides that it has a cool UI. But Current definitely wears its name on its sleeve in terms of features and sounds :D
Perhaps? I was just trying to get a conversation going, as it is always interesting to hear why some people gravitate more towards one synth than another. Perhaps there was reasons that could be listed and we could find out what? Either way, both are great synths and the user has to use what they have available and are comfortable with.
All synths and plugins have stuff to offer over their competition. This is why I like to have a few around and use what best suits the current situation I am in and the type of sound I am trying to create.

more sound design tuts with Current please

@ASH-ou4cg totally agree with your approach mate, I was just kidding.
Needs an internal Sequencer next for Bass, Plucks, Synths etc.
Without Sequencer it feels castrated compared to Pigments, ANA2 etc
It’s a really great synth! I think their factory presets are just the best in the industry

Looking for more hands-on control without adding midi controllers...
awesome synth
I purchased this from black octopus for 50%off ... definitely worth every penny ...thanks for the video
That's a great price and the same as the current promotion. I'm glad you find it worth the price, as do I. Thanks for your support on this one!

Basically it's super helpful 😅
Anyone know how many factory presets you get??? Thanks😊
As of 2.0, Minimal Audio has a new factory library featuring 400+ presets, 170+ wavetables and 800+ samples. Definitely a lot of content here!
my man, I need help with filtered over time Arpeggiated melodies. Can you do an Advanced Design Tutorial for one?

I wish the Chords could be send out to another track for recording
This is a neat idea. Maybe message them and see if they are willing to incorporate it into a future update?
Is that an Aston Mic Stealth you’re using there?

@STRANJAH the VST gods have blessed us 😎
Only problem with Current is CPU use… compared to Serum, Phaseplant, Pigments, and Vital it’s not as good. Close, but a little hoggy.
I guess on older systems, this is definitely something to keep in mind. On modern CPU with lots of ram and a beefy GPU, not as much?

Using it on a 10 year old system without issue at 128 buffer. Getting anywhere from 0.8.-2.5% cpu use on it.
Perhaps it runs better on an older and most likely less bloated OS… that, and you probably tested it with a simple patch with hardly any notes. 👍

Extremely expensive to actually use with all effects.
You mean in terms of processing power?
Not sure where this impression came from -- all the effects are included with the regular price : )
