In my opinion this was the last album that they toock serious "chances". These two tracks are evidence of that. The solo in mission is off the charts with the Zappa "esque" xylophone drum patterns with geddy and alex. Open secrets bassline is a treat, and yet again Geddy showcasing what the Wal bass is all about. This for me was my first Rush album, a lost wandering 16 year old in 1987. Their music got me through so much. Thanks for this!

Open Secrets is such a 'dark' sounding song for me, perhaps why I have always loved it. Neil taught me what the word unreconciled meant in the late 80's as a very young kid. Memorable band, my favourite of all time, hands down, no question.
Excellent tribute to this great Rush release and great song choices to represent the record, lyrics and music. Hold Your Fire was the 1st record I went to play, the day the media made the announcement of Neil's passing. RIP NEP.
Two of the best off Hold Your Fire. This date I’m watching is it’s 37th anniversary of its release🤯Adult contemporary Rush is the most common one I hear about HYF and is pretty accurate and I love it because it’s the hardest, heaviest AC you’ll ever experience.🥁🎸🎤🎹🖖🤘✌️

Saw them 3 times.77.78,2002/Lost interest after signals and picked em up again om counterparts/I don't think i ever heard open secrets.Good song.

This album has it's moments, and Neil's lyrics are always full of intelligence and wisdom. Cruel irony that he died of brain cancer.
