Hey Mike, just wanted to let you know that this video made me purchase this specific lens for my a7iv. Since I got it last week, I haven’t been able to put my camera down. I’m going hard into filmography bc of how it makes everything look so beautiful. I’ve read a few nasty comments on this video and I just wanted to let you know that you’ve changed my career. I’m an executive at a large SASS company and always found it too comfortable to leave. I’m heading out to Portugal, London, and Madrid this September and I’m gearing up. Keep capturing these random moments with loved ones. Peace and thank you.
Ah yes, the pain that the loved ones of A7SIII users know too well. Random life moments documented in needlessly cinematic 4k. Thank you for this practical application test footage. I am surprised how tricky this stuff is to find.
Nice work, I assume this is the carbon fiber version of the lens I think it is called the saturn, I have the same lens for Lumix. I am so in love with the color and contrast, I want all my lenses to match. I do wish for my work it was a bit wider on 4K60 as my camera is cropped at that framerate. Did you use a lut overlay or is this basic look out of camera?
Definitely don't want IBIS in your camera for video. Most cinema cameras don't have this. This is the cause of the jello effect. My R5 had it. My R5c does not.
Lovely work! what aspect ratio did you set your timeline to/export at? I know you have to change the clip attributes to de-squeeze, but in terms of the aspect ratio for the export, I'm curious to what you used? Also, did you go for the Venus model, or Saturn?

i love the image this creates
can't wait to start playing around with this lens. are you shooting in slog3 and color grading or?! ?!?!
Love the lens flares coming out of this lens. Nice!
Hey Mike, what variable ND filter did you use for this?
K&F variable nd filter
Hi Mike, how do you make the lines straight on the edge of the frame? Nice test out!
did you use diopter here?and black mist filter?

Thanks James. I applied my own color correction
What mic are you using? The audio is so nice!
i am wondering what causes the jello effect. Do you also have that on a gimbal? Did you shoot it with ACTIVE stabilization or STANDARD?
Definitely don't want IBIS in your camera for video. Most cinema cameras don't have this. This is the cause of the jello effect. My R5 had it. My R5c does not.
I'm curious what camera you were using here. Can you share? Thx!
Shot hand-held on Sony a7s III w/ Variable ND Filter - 4K 60fps - From the description.

rendered at Video Square (1.0) and Venus version!
@@mikezhu490 how do you find the weight? is it more of a hinderance or is the weight nice to help balance out the setup?
superb! thx!
Nice
Was this shot handheld or with a gimbal? And did you use a focus system or just do manual focus?
Handheld and manual focus. I just wanted to test out the lens with a minimal setup.
how did you combat the barrel distortion on the sides of the image from this lens? Did you just scale the image in post?
no scaling. there is some jello affect in some shots. check out 2:15. only happens when i'm trying to hold the camera stable.
Did you stabilize some of the shoots in post or use IBIS? Really nice clips.
thanks! i used ibis
