He probably would be better at it however it is for the best he is not King. If Aemond were King and had won the war, judging by his history he would have likely had Rhaenyra's little son Aegon put to the sword. In the books Little Aegon would eventually rule after Aegon The Elder because he dies with no male heir. Instead if Aemond survives and is King he would likely go on to have male heirs of his own. I’m interested to see how Aemond will interact with Daeron after seeing how his relationship with Aegon has gone from bad to worse, will he be a kind and caring older brother that Aegon never was to him, earning his younger brother’s loyalty and respect, or will he see Daeron as the only member of the Greens who can possibly threaten him now, since he also has a dragon and is next in line for the throne after Aemond, not helped by the fact that given Aemond’s poor impulse control and kinslaying reputation, his grandfather Otto and many others would probably prefer Daeron sitting on the throne over Aemond.
Oh yeah I would like to see Aemond's relationship with Daeron in the show version. Maybe in season 3 Daeron will appear. In this season 2 they seemed to focus on Aegon/Helaena/Aemond.
@@t-rexcellentreviews1663 Yeah it's possible to see Daeron in the end of this season 2 while Aemond's in Prince Regent era. Ewan said we will see different shapes of Aemond that might make people a little bit like him. Maybe we will see his soft side as big brother.
@@rahmatmanurung8133 I am sure we will see different sides to Aemond, but I don’t think many people will like what they see, especially when he earns his next title, Terror of the Trident.
The look on the council members' faces suggests that they at least got the gist of what Aemond was saying, and how insulting it was to the king. Considering that they work with Valyrian royals, they obviously studied the language in the same way your average Medieval noble knows at least a bit of Latin. The Grand Maester at the very least, would know the language fluently and he would know what Aemond just said.
He was helpless to be undermined like that in front of his council, he had all the authority but no credentials to compete with his brother on an intellectual level. I guess alongside what his mother told him of his inheritance, this was another of the main reasons he felt he had to prove himself at Rook’s Rest.
Basically, Aegon II is just like Jeoffrey I, That stupid Lannister abomination just happened to have a very pompous upbringing from his family. Having little to no limitations in terms of wants, power, privilege, and wickedness. Aegon II on the other hand have had a mediocre childhood - contented to be the "spare or an emergency" trump card in case the greens would realize their plan - very efficiently executed by his grandfather. He was so sure of himself that he won't be the king and yet he was suddenly given the responsibility to rule and bestowed upon power to do (more of) what he wants. In this show, often than not, the actions of all those tragic people were just an after effect of another one's actions - a reactive force that would put everything else in motion - unfortunately, towards their own doom.

If I remember correctly, most of the High Houses in Westeros learn High Valyrian only as like a foreign language. The maesters are able to understand it and there are many characters in ASOIAF who are able to translate a few words - however, it is part of a higher education, and they do not use it on a daily basis. So, I think, they understand at least to some degree but not everything. However, they can clearly see that Aemond just tore his brother to shreds without understanding one single word, I guess :D
Orwyle is Grand Maester, not knowing high valyrian would be like a scientist of today not knowing english. The others are _Clubfoot who should speak low valyrian as master of whisperers and seems to have become a learned man to compensate for his disability _Tyland Lannister, who comes from a port city and is master of coin, so he should know low valyrian to deal with Essos _Jasper Wylde also comes from a port city, right on the narrow sea and for the same reasons should know low valyrian

Tom and Ewan have great bond too in real life and both are great actors so it transferred very well on screen. You can search their videos together, they're funny together 😂
@@rahmatmanurung8133 I’ll be honest I don’t typically dig to deep into that stuff because I just want to enjoy the show, but I’ll take your word for it. The guys seem to be putting in the time
Tom and Ewan are lovers
@@borris3768 fits the series lol
Tom really made me love the character, guy is a great actor
The floundering child and the self assured warrior.
"*Our* kingsguard." Chilling.
I think Aemond is more fit to be a king than Aegon he knows strategy and the language and the ways of war he can fly a dragon better than Aegon so maybe they chose the wrong brother to be a king
The entire Targaryen Line would be different and that means no Daenerys and no Jon Snow.
@@Kara-lp1cjalso means no mad king so it would be a net positive because Robert and Ned would never have needed to end the Targaryens
@@Calluma96 true but you have forgotten about the white walkers and only the prince that was promised can save them. According to the woods witch says she predicted he'll come from the line of Queen Rhealla and King Aerys. Even the mad King had a part to play if only to impregnant Queen Rhaella.
In the books Aegon is Smarter than Aemond cuz Aemond has an Ego on par with Vegetas
There’s nothing in the books to suggest that Aegon is in anyway smarter then aemond
@@Jdjdjdujakzgsha In fact Aegon, like an idiot, toasts Aemond after he hears that Aemond killed Luke, even though that means that Aemond is a kinslayer....
@@JdjdjdujakzgshaAegon's decisions are tactical while Aemond just acts on anger. Aegon successfully took Dragonstone by himself while Aemond pointlessly torched the Riverlands rather than working with his allies.
Yep, in the books it was actually Sunfyre and Aegon who comes to rescue Vhagar and Aemond at Rook’s rest, and not the other way around
Vegeta lmao 💀
Aegon knows High Valyrian he was just using the vernacular of the lolcats dialect
Orwylle DEFINITELY knew what Aemond said lol
King Aegon: butchers high-valyrian mid public verbal destruction
Aemond Targaryen: "mmm..." 😂
The council realized right there (regardless of having no idea of what's being said) that aegon had just got bodied lol they literally flinched and lowered their heads in shame.
Two Targaryen brothers talking in Valyrian so other lords can't understand what they are saying??
The maester should understand and the master of whispers too
It’s like learning Latin most lords do understand it but everyone knows Aegons isn’t the hat good.
Aemond indeed switched to valyrian so that Aegon thinks others cannot understand. But Aemond doesn't care if others understood, indeed it's likely at least the maester and Clubfoot speak valyrian (and you don't need to speak the language to understand it was a roast), while Aegon probably wouldn't know anyway.
Aegon being unable to answer something better than broken valyrian is just the cherry on top.
More like Aemond making fun of Aegon Valyrian he learned in Duolingo
Yeah I feel like Aegon can understand just fine he just isnt comfortable speaking it. Reminds me of this half anerican half Japanese tennis player, when japanese journalists talk to her in Japanese she responds in english @guifdcanalli
"Aemond DESTORYS Faegon with FACTS & LOGIC"
thumbnail is Aemond shooting laser from his sapphire eyes to crying Aegon
I speak English very best😂😂
Oh sweet Aegon lol
This was Aegon’s Peggy Hill moment.
We’re only halfway through the season, Daeron could still show up.
Aemond burned him in this scene and later on as well. He burned him both literally and figuratively 😂. A 2 pronged attack 😄
Honestly only Aemond's valyrian I liked the most.
Lot of pressure on Aegon having to try to match up to his ancestor
How humiliating it was 😂
Aemond could go through those imbecilic lickspittles without breaking a sweat.
He was trained by the current lord commander of the kingsgaurd growing up to fight with one eye, he's an absolute menace ⚔️🧿
Aemond knows Aegon knows that he can't do anything to Aemond, so he goes into full assault
In the end, Otto was right. Aegon is indeed seen as weak.
“Speak plainly!”
Aegon is thinking, as soon as the war is over I'm getting rid of you!
Somebody get Aegon a sharpie
Idk which roasting was worse, this in or the next one
I prefer this roasting 😂 because it's smart.
He was helpless to be undermined like that in front of his council, he had all the authority but no credentials to compete with his brother on an intellectual level. I guess alongside what his mother told him of his inheritance, this was another of the main reasons he felt he had to prove himself at Rook’s Rest.
Aemond never knew *High Valyrian* language
Do all the council members understand Valyrian or are they just stuck in the tension?
Aegon: "Can I haz cheezeburger"
Did any of them understand what Aemond said? It looked like larys did
Basically, Aegon II is just like Jeoffrey I,
That stupid Lannister abomination just happened to have a very pompous upbringing from his family.
Alicent: why is Aemond here?
Aegon: he is my closest blood and our best sword
Aemond a bit later: he-he Vhagar goes dracarys
A bit later? 😂 No. Before Dracarys, Aegon's laughing at him.
@@rahmatmanurung8133 oh thanks. Now it makes sense. Cuz even though Aegon clearly loved and respected Aemond it's okay to burn him alive because of jokes
@@TheHellyeahmen I like Aegon/Aemond duo but to say Aegon respected Aemond? Nah. I get it he had his own insecurities but he had to make Aemond to be miserable too. He did it to him since he was young in ep 6 season 1. Look at how different Jace as big brother to Luke. Anyway I still like Aegon/Aemond as brothers so I look forward to see their confrontation later.
@@rahmatmanurung8133 he did respect him. He called him his best sword and it was definately not a joke. He was genuine
And calling him the closest blood as an argument is definately a sign of at least some love
And he didn't want Aemond to be miserable. If you watch Aegon closely you will see that he's not a mean person. He just doesn't understand that he hurts people with his rude behaviour
@@TheHellyeahmen That's why I would like to see some scenes of them to talk about their feelings, just two of them. I see how interesting their dynamic could be as brothers. They both are messed up because of their parents and upbringing. Aegon was never be good role model as big brother because he's lazy to study and loved drinking, also he raped the maid in season 1. Aemond also had his mistakes of course: burned his brother. Oh well I just hope the showrunners would not make their relationship worse than already has now. While in the book Aemond never attacked Aegon so it's sad to me.
High Valyrian sounds like Greek to me. The inflection of the vowels and the retracted S.
Aegon's Mid Valyrian sounds like a teenager failing at spanish
Hess and Condal hate Team Green. Ewan actually argued with them after finding out they made Aemond hate Aegon.
The new D&D.
@@ladyvader2648
Hess and Condal are so much better.
It’s obvious they want to make Aemond mirrors Daemon because they are two powerful men under weak leaders, but having Aemond blatantly dracarys Aegon is such horrible writing.
@@Deli-xu2ih Agree. I prefer Aemond came late with Vhagar in purpose to join the battle while Aegon/Sunfyre were attacked by Rhaenys/Meleys. To see him straight forward attacked Aegon 😮😅 not smart. They're lucky Ewan did good acting with charisma on screen.
@rahmatmanurung8133 How about let it play out and see what storyline they have planned for it. This is how they get 3 to 4 seasons of content.
prince aegon*
Im wondering if the other members off the council could understand him 🤣🤣🤣
I can have to make a war?
....shouldn't the GRAND MAESTER know SOME high Valyrian?
I believe he knows High Valyrian, he just don’t know what to answer to aemond because he has no strategy, his head is empty right now and he got confused how aemond dared to embarrass king in front of his small council
It seems someone skips their class.
I am team Black, loud and proud but this is too damned much. They went out of their way to make Aegon the biggest dummy on this show. Like, now he can't even truly speak Valyrian?! You can tell Aegon is a character these writers don't like.

Aegon did what his mother had raised him too. He fought against Rhenyras side of the family. She didn't call him to the council meetings when she and Otto took over and left him to sate his hedonism and then she wonders why things went wrong. Hopefully, Aemond will slam this on her next episode.
2 24 3 in their heads:
Did he say what I think he said?
Oh I'm certain he did.
Why did we crown this 1 again?
Check!
i know that they’re targaryens, and they speak high valyrian, and that aemond has done it before so idk why it was baffling to me when he started doing it again but i legit gasped and had to pause the show LMAO
Does the council also speak Valyrian? Or its just them?
If I remember correctly, most of the High Houses in Westeros learn High Valyrian only as like a foreign language. The maesters are able to understand it and there are many characters in ASOIAF who are able to translate a few words - however, it is part of a higher education, and they do not use it on a daily basis.
So, I think, they understand at least to some degree but not everything. However, they can clearly see that Aemond just tore his brother to shreds without understanding one single word, I guess :D
The Grand Maester does (for sure), and I believe Larys Strong did in the book
Orwyle is Grand Maester, not knowing high valyrian would be like a scientist of today not knowing english.
The others are
_Clubfoot who should speak low valyrian as master of whisperers and seems to have become a learned man to compensate for his disability
_Tyland Lannister, who comes from a port city and is master of coin, so he should know low valyrian to deal with Essos
_Jasper Wylde also comes from a port city, right on the narrow sea and for the same reasons should know low valyrian
Thanks for the info you guys! I never read any of the books and just started watching recently. But I've spoiled myself the entire plot from watching the summary of Fire & Blood. Thinking of watching GOT after this season ends too.
Aegon is top 3 characters so far this season.
