psg did great job, but to play it you have to have midfielders on highest level. If you pause it sometimes you can see very possible moments when they loose the ball they are totally screwed. But when executed well against manmarking your almost always providing big chances and oppurtunities
Marseille is bad at this manmarking. I would improve it: 1. Even though this is manmarking, you can still use a numerical advantage in defense +1 and -1 in attack, Bielsa does this in his system. The quality of PSG players is too high, you will always lose any duel, then you prefer to defend 3v3 situations rather than 2v3. 2. Losing a duel or a long pass outplaying your midfielders, should be a trigger for a comeback to lowblock. I watched videos on this channel 5 years ago, I still watch them now, it's pretty amazing. These analyzes are fantastic, keep going, man, you're doing a good job.
I am from Argentina and I have always told that defenders in Europe are horrible. Most of the situations the defender lost his rival, sometimes 2 defenders goes to mark the same rival ... and things like that. Football is not complicated, you dont need lots of videos or strategy. If you are a Defender I think you should mark your rival man to man on his back, and follow him to his house if this is necessary. If he dribbles you, get up and follow him again. You have to pay attention. Simple.
If players start to focus only on their marker and not on the ball. Basically mirroring their acts and anticipating their reflexes. Regaining the ball becomes a matter of physicality and speed. It is hard to beat manmarking if executed properly.
What do you think about the video?
