Thanks for this video abi. When I think about how we can beat the man-marking press in build-up, I could have found three solutions: a long pass to the pivot striker if you have one, a strong pass series with one touch, and players who can dribble vertically. This video has expanded my perspective
The three solutions you mentioned are effective and essential. However, since Inter don't really have any of them, they have to play it in their own special way. Inter do not have a striker who can constantly run behind defenders, or very strong one-touch passes(they can do it sometimes, but not often enough), or someone who can dribble vertically(Inter have the 4th least dribbles per game in top 5 leagues)
If you pay close attention, inter always plays a full back/wing back as a right center back, that's what makes it dynamic as the players put there assume multiple roles (pavard/darmian) and are very natural playing close to the touchline, on the left side it's a different approach , bastoni usually do underlapping runs and is great moving the ball forward and makes great runs, also is quite accurate in passing, while dimarco is an early cross man. The teams has alot of options when going in front
The wing backs and the outside centre backs are completely interchangeable players with the exception of Denzel. But even he has the height for an outside centre back. Left side has Augusto Di Marco Bastoni right side has Pavard Bisseck Darmian Dumfries.
Great video mate! High pressing teams have become an antidote to the number of teams that want to constantly play out of the back and retain possession... I've often wondered if the solution to this is as simple as "knock it in behind" or find a traditional number 9 (As city sometimes do with Haaland) But the relational movement of players seems like the perfect solution... I wonder if more and more teams will adopt these approaches!
If Inter had a world class striker like Osihmen, they would have won the UCL last season. Also, keep in mind that there are two ex Man Utd players here, United is the problem, not the players
we just need a fit lautaro. lautaro against city is an injured lautaro who force to keep playing until the end of the season because inter don' have any replacement for him. in fact he already injured before the worldcup. he should get his surgery when worldcup started. but argentina calling him anyway,
Do you think it’s important regarding how a team wins a game instead if they won the game. When I say how I mean the types of chances the team creates and the amount of control a team has in both boxes. As a lot of football fans say a manager plays ‘good football’ like it is a big deal when there’s more to football than playing good football. For example alot of people say De Zerbi plays good football which somehow means his a good manager because he plays good football I’m not saying De Zerbi isn’t a good coach I’m just using him as an example . I think How you win is more important than playing good football what do you think? As you can play good football and still not have control on a game so the good football that your playing doesn’t mean anything. Another example I heard recently someone say Ollie Watkins wouldn’t join United because Villa play good football. I’m not saying Ollie wouldn’t or would but I think it’s a lazy excuse to say because they play ‘good football’
When you play good football, you increase your chance of winning. I think De Zerbi with the current Brighton squad is still over-achieving. I believe you meant proactive or brave football vs a more pragmatist/flexible approach. In that sense, in the past, I was always thinking the proactive style over the score, but nowadays I am more into flexibility, teams that can play any type of football comfortably, but that's a personal thing. I am not saying this is right or wrong :)
@@pstionalplay I agree with what your saying but I believe having control in both boxes gives you an advantage in games. For example you can control a game from a defensive aspect by not conceding many chances that is control to me. When you watch a team play what do you look out for that suggest to you that they are a good team or bad team. An example could be how a team plays out of the press. Also why do you think Poch is struggling as Chelsea manager?

It's so clear how significant Bastoni is.
And now pavard is doing the same as bastoni
Basto 💙🖤
My god that cross yesterday against Bologna... Banger!
@@matt6493 yeah on the right
I like a lot the comparison of Inter's permanent movement of players, with the one you find in basketball. Illuminating
The graphics and example are on point! Easy to understand, can’t wait for the big ucl matches.
Thanks Joey!! Soccer next Wednesday?
@@pstionalplay yess ill try to sign up if a spot comes open

Diego Simeone says hi. 4th team in La Liga and Inzaghi couldn't get Inter past them.
Hi Diego

I think man marking is the solution for this style of playing
