For those unfamiliar with Broodwar: Corsair has the ability disruption web, prevents all units under it from attacking. Scouts had very good anti-air attacks but their ground damage was trash. Ghosts had the ability lockdown, which could prevent any mechanical unit from moving or attacking. The Dark Archon at the end used feedback.
The thing about lockdown is that skills in Starcraft lasted a month and a half to wear off (ditto for Warcraft III), that's why the carrier commander goes for a nap. It meant that a single ghost could alone completely take out of the fight big threats and then destroy the threat by itself after the combat. Even if it would take a while.
@@rafaelneumann8365 reminds me of that mission of the UED where you have to invade Korhal and need to choose between Nukes or Battlecruisers, if you chose BC they would give you a couple ghosts and Goliaths to take out like 12 BC

Actually wraiths are not so weak as they seem. But you need critical mass for them. I don't know any counter to 30-40 well-microed wraiths but spamming storms or plague.

I cracked up when even the corsair pilot, who has zero ground attack, started laughing at the poor scout. Also at 1:54, the robotics support bay is a bunch of vacuums shuffling.
Yeah, it was kinda weird that they brought back the Dragoon, which was obsolete in gameplay thanks to the Stalker and obsolete in lore thanks to the Immortal, but not the Scout, which was a completely different unit from any of the other Protoss ships, and had even already shown up in the campaigns!

+TheBraveGallade It's usually less costly, more reliable, and more fun to just drop in a Reaver to kill workers. Scouts take 6-10 hits to kill a single worker depending on upgrades and by the time Scouts are made in useful quantities, AA defenses are in place.
I still remember the Protoss Scout is the terrible way to face ground forces, but to face air forces he is OP. Ghosts still the most hated guys because for their Lockdown ability. When they hit the mechs with these, you have to wait or use medic's Restoration. Great video Carbot.
Those red ball guys were able to take controll of builders from zerg and terran bases which made you able to create zerg and terran bases ergo units too next to your prottos base and own 3 times harder.

Unlike Statis, from an arbitrer (which is AOE), lock down is single target and units in lockdown can be damaged (in stasis, units cannot be damaged). EDIT: sorry, EMP is froms cience vessels!
+MrFreakHeavy EMP wasn't a Ghost ability in Brood War, it was on the aerial Terran caster/detector, the Science Vessel (it was also stronger than the SCII version; it drained ALL shields and energy in a wide area. There's a reason you don't go mass Archon vs. Terran in BW). The Ghost in BW just had Cloak, Lockdown and Nuke Calldown.

Carbot I absolutely love your animations and have been watching for a couple years (if my timeline is correct). BW is by far my favorite season. Maybe it because I played SC and BW when I was much younger. I think finishing the BW season would be best for the simple reason, the more LOTV is able to run its course and let the meta settle down there will be more annoying strategies and nerfs to come that you have always done a great job of making them into humorous animations. Naturally you will know what your viewers want and you are nice enough to give us both LOTV and BW you'll make the right decision. Love your work hope you never stop :)

You should have made the battle cruiser's fire rate way lower. Because that thing shoots every time another one of your animations come out. (That is not meant to offend you because animation is long process)
I just see the defiler taking the role of the scumbag from SC2 which drinks from buildings. Or better yet, an episode with Ensnare, Plague and Corrosive Acid, making the ships like christmas lighting - christmas themed video right there!!!

I don't agree with his theory... It makes more sense if Matpat compare with Protoss Khala... Zerg don't have their own right and mind, Protoss have their own mind but they're connected to each other by the Khala...
He's kinda wrong because the terrans actually have the Internet. It's called the HoloNet or something. The Zerg are literally controlled by telepathy, and we don't (yet) have any people that can use psionics.

+BBspike100 Interesting fact that I'm not sure if you're aware of or not, the hero units in bw didn't have different colors at all, Blizzard made them different colored by starting them as rescuable units, meaning you can recruit them by walking to them, and then they just made get rescued the second the mission started before you could notice.
I'm so glad this season wasn't cut short. I say keep making these until a bit of a meta for LotV builds up and then you have more to poke fun at in regards to LotV
To be honest having a weak ground attack is sometimes better than having none at all. It makes microing a lot easier if your anti air (or your HT) just doesn't run into the Marines of your opponents, when you a-click.

Game mechanics, in the story early BC's had multiple anti air laser batteries and had slow turning rates.

+BBspike100 Interesting fact that I'm not sure if you're aware of or not, the hero units in bw didn't have different colors at all, Blizzard made them different colored by starting them as rescuable units, meaning you can recruit them by walking to them, and then they just made get rescued the second the mission started before you could notice.

To be honest having a weak ground attack is sometimes better than having none at all. It makes microing a lot easier if your anti air (or your HT) just doesn't run into the Marines of your opponents, when you a-click.
