    Russia could sustain the Ukraine war because it needed no external help to manufacture it's weapons. Time for Bharat to ensure the same parameters for our defense ecosystem.

      To be honest Russia actually doesn’t have a good military if you see the tanks they are soviet era tanks and most of the equipment is
      But they have really good defence technology, India should start working on the sixth generation fighter and get it done by 2025 before it gets too late.

    I am not a big government companies fan. but with Tejas, HAL is on to something very big in future. zero crashes in 20+ years of flying is a record. reliability,serviceability, home grown tech, data collection, availability. in all parameters this fighter stands out. with LCA and its variants in high numbers, IAF will have reduced stress regarding logistical support in future.

    • @vm8136
      @vm8136 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      Nothing against HAL, but the design, development and testing of Tejas over the past so many years has been carried out by ADA which is an agency of DRDO
      HAL had been given the task to mass produce this aircraft and has had commercial negotiations with IAF for approx. two years before signing the deal and has been unable to maintain the required production rate. HAL also had the responsibility to create the alpha variant mk1a of Tejas with AESA radar and improved servicing but has overshot the timelines for that as well. So that sarkari HAL is basically performing poorly as expected, no surprises here.
      Hopefully some of the production of mk2 will be offloaded to private sector

      I don't think Tejas has been in service for 20+ years. So I don't know what you mean by zero crashes in 20 years. Crashes that happen during development phase are usually not counted towards aircrafts reliability. And everything you mentioned is futile if we cannot design and develop our own engine that is the heart of all these efforts. USA can crush Tejas project anytime it wants by simply halting engine supply.

      Real Fighter jets aint your PUBG kid!! "Specs" are secondary. The first thing is sheer numbers, lifespan, reliability operating and maintenance costs and then how much you can push its limits. If a jet manages to be pushed beyond maximum ceiling of service alititude, Range, Speed and load for weapons and still proves reliability. Thats what matters first.

Each shot has been taken with utmost care. In fact, I believe this is the first time I've witnessed such a high-definition video of our Tejas. Well , there has got to be a reason why IAF rejected Tejas at least twice. According to Indian media, every hour of flight requires 15 to 20 hours of servicing. Also, according to Comptroller and Auditor General of India, the indigenously developed content on Tejas is merely 35 percent so all those years of back and forth, multiple rejections from IAF has not really been even a learning curve. Not to mention, when IAF itself sends a wing commander in Mig21 to intercept along with SU30, shows that although IAF has decided to procure Tejas under government pressure, they do not have any faith in it.

    Tejas has a US made GE engine and an Israeli radar system. Hopefully someday they will all be made in India. As soon as Tejas got orders by Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines, the US directed GE to divert the supply of engines to the South Korean KAF KF-21 jet program.
    Moral of the story: you need good friends or else you won't even get a Ham-ass sandwich.

      Don't fabricate the story. Malaysia and Argentina rejected the Tejas due to competency issues compared to the South Korean KAF KF-21; all related news can be found online. Even the Indian Navy rejected it because of the fighter jet's high weight, rendering it unsuitable for warfront operations. According to my knowledge, the Indian Air Force uses it for training rather than for any active warfront operations.

    Congratulations is in order. HAL has gone through the difficult, painful and daunting process of learning from ground up. From now on they will be on the roll; nothing can stop them. As the commentary mentioned it’s their own aircraft and they can keep tinkering with it to make it better and better . If only they can have their own engines, then it will be truly a game changer. Critics of this Fighter plane should think of these point before criticizing .
    1. NO crash or major accident from inception( from 2003 to 2023).
    2. Agile.
    3. Less cost of operation and less price( in near future).
    4. Since MADE IN INDIA, any modification for any type of weapon can be done anytime as per our requirement( very critical aspect).
    5. Because of presence of TEJAS, other foreign makers will have to think before getting advantage of monopoly.
    6. No fear of disruption in supply chain of spares.
    7. Even any country have tons of weapon , but if these weapons are not made in their country, that country ca`tn call itself POWERFULL.
    we need to be powerful and will have to be.
    8. Last and most important : Defense and Space industries are those industry, which can back up many other industry and support INDIA becoming

    After the success of ISRO and the Indian space program, India started the Tejas Fighter Jet project in 1984. In just 30 years of development from scratch, Tejas has proven to be a great fighter and with the ongoing developments to fix the gaps and capabilities, India will have its own most advanced 6G jet.

      This is major problem. Entire fleet can be useless if usa decides to stop supplying engine or engine components. We will have only airframe 😊. We should first buy adequate engine before manufacturing the entire aircraft. This is going to end likee hf24 marut. We should have hired someone from Russia or given subcontract to manufacture engine from Russia ( Russian engine)

    The deep voice of the commentator suggests that the Gods smile on the TEJAS. Remember that the Indian Air Force is a Museum of WW2 to modern aircraft, and this "gamechanger", the "cheapest" fighter will simply add to the logistics and maintenance nightmare that is the Indian Air Force. Incidentally, why are we reluctant to send the TEJAS to the many Air War Games that we participate in overseas?

    i was looking in comment section and bunch of you know who!, our dear neighbors! started to say that tejas is not relevant in today's war scenario
    and it does not posses the technology to meet the requirements of today's warfare...
    my answer to all of those neighbors >
    does not have technology?
    I will explain initial version of tejas compared to latest and old blocks of JF17
    1. initial tejas mark1 have AESA radar
    ->which JF17 introduced in its block3
    2.initial tejas mark1 have fuel probe for air to air refueling
    ->which was introduced in JF-17 block 2
    3.initial tejas mark1 have quadrupled flyby wire system..
    ->which JF-17 still using old triplex fly-by wire system
    4. initial tejas mark1 have hydraulic system
    ->which JF17 is still using old numatic system .
    5. initial tejas mk1 uses most powerful version of F404 IN20 engine making out engine thrust to weight ratio close to 9.0.
    and jet fighter thrust to weight ratio to 1.07
    -> where JF17 uses klimov RD93 engine making less thrust and low engine thrust to weight ratio to 7.5 to 8.
    and jet fighter thrust to weight ratio of 0.97....
    by the way, I was talking about mk1 and we will receive more advance MK1A in February 2024 of 83 orders which was ordered in 2021.
    100 soon to be ordered by IAF in 2024 which will bring the total number to be procurement of tejas by IAF to 225 ... so don't worry about Tejas,
    Tejas is ready to take on any threat and it continues to evolve...... not to forget the biggest threat to PAKISTAN will not be Rafale it will be Tejas mk2
    so focus on your own jet.... there is no announcement of any sort of block 4 JF17 by pakistan where India will buy Rafale and will rollout tejas mk2 soon

    Tejas makes sense if the IAF had 200+ aircraft deployed to Airbases latest by the 2010s. Now approaching 2025, Tejas doesn't have the technology, performance or combat readiness to deal with multi-dimensional threats it expects to face from regional rivals. Local production of Rafale makes more sense.

    Cost estimates are incorrect. Correct estimates are a lot lower as a significant amount of money comes back compared to imports. For example, all salaried employees paying taxes or spending money buying other items in India. Each component supplier pays taxes or dividends to investors. Recirculating money reduces the actual cost much lower.
