Why did they go with the angle this time around of Arthur and Joker being seperate personalities? By the end of the first movie Arthur was Joker because it's who he was and how he truly felt by that point.

The way I see it is Joker didn’t have any cliffhanger or any post credit scenes, so therefore its unnecessary to create a cinematic universe behind it. The Batman on the other hand left us with many questions left unanswered and post credit scenes, to the point where were getting Penguin and Batman 2. So its just the way Joker is structured
I wasn't a fan of the first one. It was a little too "artsy" for my taste, I just couldn't get into it. Beautifully shot and great acting though. Just not my cup of tea. I absolutely love Harley Quinn as a character, and I love Lady Gaga (both as an actress and a singer) so I'm too curious to not watch this one anyway, even though I suspect I won't be watching it twice.
