I loved the movie. Joaquin and Gaga had great chemistry and their performances as mentally unstable people were spot on and stuck with me for days after I saw the movie. I must say that the end of the movie was depressing and really threw me, as it seemed out of character for Harley to give up on the Joker persona itself so easily. I could see her giving up on Arthur, but not on Joker because she was emulating Joker throughout the film. If Harley became more insane, blew up Arthur at the courthouse and then became the Joker herself, then that would have made more sense to me. 😂😂😂😂😂 Also, I never considered this film to be a true musical. It was a movie with songs. The songs had nothing to do with the storyline and were only meant to show the delusional thought processes and hallucinations of Arthur and Harley. ALSO, as per the film title, these two characters were supposed to be sharing or believing the same delusions. For this to have happened in this film, I agree with you that the Joker could have made up his entire relationship with Harley, but it would then stand to reason that Harley could have made up her entire relationship with Joker! Maybe this was the point?? Either way, Phoenix is America's finest living actor. If Harley was really pregnant in this movie, then maybe we could see a Joker 3, with Joaquin playing Joker's grown up son!! Never listen to word of mouth about a movie. Go see it for yourself and decide. Joaquin just walked away from a movie that he was starring in, so maybe someone wanted this movie to flop as payback!😮
Very interested in that spin of “What if Harley imagined it?” That’d be easily justified with someone glorifying him/his actions given all the media attention he gets/is getting. Glad you enjoyed the film, there were moments I enjoyed but it’s so tonally different to the first it threw me. I love the first and this just didn’t compare for me unfortunately.
Very interesting. I may need to watch it again but does anyone actually interact with Harley? I know there’s the one scene between her and the lawyer but how credible is that interaction in the bigger picture of the film?
That interaction is one of the only things that trips this theory up but it’s such a throwaway thing that I’d argue there’s more strength in everything else supporting it.
For me , this movie is the best film of the year
Great theory, I totally agree.
Thank you!

The shooting-self-in-the-head thing she does gives it away.
That was what sold me on the idea straight away!
Maybe it was shown in the movie they made about arthur
This is a very good theory. I enjoyed this movie and i feel like later on it will be re reviewed and put a better rating
