  • The adorable, but now very noisy, orphan badger cubs are growing on well but are obviously missing the comfort of their mum. Thankfully our lovely volunteers at Wildlife Aid, Hannah & Myra have bought them a very special gift. Watch the video to find out what it is!

    I never knew they chirped like that as cubs. I've only heard a grunting adult. Always told to avoid them but they are cute young and adult badgers.

    That hard cut to them sleeping looked like pair of kids going: ''I'm gonna stay up aaaalll night'' and immediately after they fall asleep.

    The same thing used to be done for kittens and pups with an old alarm clock wrapped in a coverlet or towel. It is very comforting for all babies! Those cubs are just lovely and I had never heard the sounds they make when they are excited... Thank you for that cute discovery!

    It's a "Snuggle Kitty"... Or in this case, Bear. Fosters use them with orphaned Kittens, especially neo-nates. It mimics the Mom's heartbeat and helps them get through the toughest first few weeks. 👍👏👏❤️❤️ Maybe in a few years the Robotics people will create one that also Nurses them every 2 hours. Now THAT would be Awesome.

    Was chatting to a co worker with a new puppy that cried all night long. I told her to put an alarm clock in a wrapped towel in its bed. She used an electronic clock. Puppy still cried. Lol.

    We do have one though that seems to have trouble walking, and lays down a lot.

    May I ask why one shouldn´t speak near the cage? Are the cubs getting used to the human voice or is there another reason?

    • @wildlifeaid
      @wildlifeaid  10 ปีที่แล้ว +180

      Hi, yes that's exactly right, we don't want our cubs to get familiar with human voices, otherwise it risks them becoming imprinted and not fearful of humans. If that happens they struggle to survive in the wild. We are very strict here at Wildlife Aid, it's very difficult to not cuddle and talk to the animals, however being hands off is the best approach for the animals welfare! Which when they're this cute is very challenging for us! :D

    • @moduslive
      @moduslive 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +JokeRmakesPie yes all the animals that pass through this organisation are released back into the wild as soon as they are old enough or well enough to survive living in the wild.
