The 25th Bond film, No Time to Die, will be hitting the big screen in April 2020 and the hype for the Silver Jubilee of this British Spy is starting to build up. It’s been a rocky journey for this film, with original director Danny Boyle leaving due to creative differences, which brought in the unexpected choice of Cary Joji Fukanaga to bring the movie to life. For quite a while, Daniel Craig, who will be 51 by the time of the film’s release, did NOT want to return to the role but it seems that the studios eventually changed his mind.
Helping bring the film to life is the writing skills of Killing Eve’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge, a fact that makes this upcoming production very interesting. Joining Bond are Miss Moneypenny, Q, M and Felix Leiter, back together on screen since the end of the 80s. Back from the previous film is Lea Seydoux’s Madeleine Swan, making her one of the very few Bond Girls to return for more than one movie. We can expect a lot of action in this film and a lot of Aston Martins, three unique models exact which will be captured in both 35mm and IMAX’s 65mm. Bond will also be returning to Jamaica, a location that is quite important to the franchise. Bond will also return to the UK and visit Italy and
Bond fans may have thought Christoph Waltz’s Blofeld was returning based on a rumored leaked title, Shatterhand, but then Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek was cast as the villain-the third Oscar winner to land the role in a row. However, due to injuries and his age, it seems this will be Craig’s last outing as Bond-for real this time. Craig passed a lot of the stunts onto his double for this one, which is understandable.

It won't happen. The franchise would lose too much money. I love the original La Femme Nikita series and the movie salt with Angela Jolie. They were okay for a female kick ass spy concept. However, Bond will always be a male character.

Craig was initially signed to a 5 Bond picture deal so I don't know why everyone was surprised at his return. Despite his recent complaints about the role, he was still obligated to make the picture.
I think the break from the role was good for him too. Back to back in the same role probably sucked
He has been saying since Skyfall that he wanted to quit the role. He only agreed to return as he got a huge pay packet which included a percentage of profits. But he also got total creative control which is why Danny Boyle left. He had final say on everything. Even Barbara Broccoli has less control over the film than Craig.
Gordon Hotchkiss probably no doubt because of the debacle called Spectre. I have faith Craig knows more about what makes a good Bond film.

You do know there are women in the double 0 section right? A woman can clearly be seen in a row of double 0 agents in The World is Not Enough. Saying that is like saying women can't be police officers or FBI agents. 007 is a position. There is 001,002,003 etc.. Any of those positions can be taken up by a woman. In the new movie, Bond "retired" so his 007 position is vacant... Understand that 007 and James Bond are two separate entities.

@@imranbecks Yes I think it's accepted that 007 is a number and if the agent using that designation gets killed or retires the number goes to someone else. But James Bond is an individual and the name doesn't get passed around therefore I think that in the James Bond series the same person is 007 in every movie. In a couple of the books Ian Fleming refers back to incidents that happened to James Bond so I also think that in Fleming's mind 007 was the same person in each book. I also don't think a female could be 007 in the movies for the simple reason that they could no longer say, as they do in every movie, "Albert R Broccoli's Eon Productions Presents Daniel Craig (or whoever the actor's name) as Ian Fleming' James Bond 007". There are some things that are iconic about the Bond movies. That opening is one. Without it the movie is not a James Bond movie

So it makes sense that it was a different person who played bond.

I actually went to School with Henry & he was pretty ‘Bond-like’ even back then! Lol Always well dressed & full of style & charisma. I ended-up being his NCO in the Cadets & he had a high level of self-discipline & knew how to conduct himself to gain respect from those older than him. All in all, he’d make an AWESOME Bond!!

I have been a James Bond fan ever since the very first movie. I always look forward to any new James Bond movie but I'm seriously worried about this latest one. Any suggestion of killing off James Bond or having a black female as 007 would be totally wrong. It seems like everything today is being ruined by left-wing activist views on life and playing gender politics. Please, let's just for once stick with tradition and what has been a very successful franchise. Please don't ruin what we all love about James Bond, or this franchise will die . As others have suggested I think that Henry Cavill would be a good choice for Bond.

I too love the JB franchise. I've read several of the original books and seen all 24 movies so far. I was in my mid teens when 'For Your Eyes Only' was released and have been a keen enthusiast ever since, intrigued by the plot lines (sometimes weak but still fun), the action scenes (many breath taking), the gimmicks, the humour (spoken and visual and those double entendres), the style, the great cinematography, the cars and the OTT villains and henchmen/women. Oh, and the ever present beautiful Bond ladies. I think that the producers are well aware of the success of these elements in the franchise not to make any rash changes to them. They may contemporarize for relevance as they have in the past 4 films since DC came on board, but I think they know where to draw the line. They wouldn't want to aggrieve their European audiences where JB and this style of movie is still hugely popular.
As for who the new 007 will be, we know that Bond has retired his 007 status so there will obviously be another. A temporary replacement in this movie is possible for story line purposes, but definitely not a permanent one. We know there are lots of other 00 Agents in the cadre to feed speculation. This only boosts public reaction and box office $. Given that Bond is back for now and DC in his final run at the character, it's obvious that a permanent replacement for the character is yet to be decided. I also think Henry Cavill would be good.

Any other "Double-Os" should have their own unique number just as they did in the Bond movies... regardless whether this requires that the Double-Os result in ID numbers going into two, three or four digits, thereafter (e.g., 002984). And given all James Bond has done to save the world countless times...his number should particularly be retired with him, certainly not given to another! There should only be one 007... just as there will always be only one -- James Bond.

@@FatherVampire Awesome reply, and over the past year sir, your comments here have been a direct reflection of many hardcore Bond fans as members in several Bond FB groups. Many of our complaints have centered upon what has been an effort by Barbara Broccoli to transform Bond into a WOKE (and weak) character in NTTD. Since she failed to get her "Jinx" spinoff with Halley Berry back in 2002....there's been alot of speculation that Waller-Bridge has devised a way in her NTTD screenplay to not only make Bond a secondary character in his own movie, but has also been rendered dead at the end of the film so that his daughter can take his sir name and then proceed to be the female Bond in "Bond 26" that Barbara has perhaps always secretly wanted. So much for a proper Bond spinoff....as EON makes way for a female actor to take over the character, and therefore renders all Bond films prior to Casino Royale as "non existent". . Most unfortunate.
I also will quite watching Bond if the role is switched to a woman.

Henry Cavill is a perfect classic Bond material. He has looks, height, voice, personality and killing Charisma even in his Real life. Shortly he is a real life the James Bond.

James Bond is the reflection of the man who created the character, namely the author Ian Fleming. Fleming was active within the British Secret Service and when you see the photos of him in his navel uniform it's obvious to see the resemblance of Bond (dark hair, grey eyes, tall and MALE) It would be an insult to change British tradition.

- Léa Seydoux' character will be killed off
- Lashana Lynch's character will be killed off
- James Bond will survive and be 007 again by the end of the movie
- The MI6 regulars will once again be way too deeply involved in the plot
- The DB5 will be overused to a ridiculous extent
- The movie will be slightly better than Spectre, but nowhere near as good as Casino or Skyfall

@ Simple deduction (which is actually super easy, barely an inconvenience). I assume Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are not done making money with the "James Bond 007" brand, meaning there will be a 26th Bond movie. This gives me the following boundary condition for the upcoming movie: At the end, James Bond will be 007, and he sure as hell won't be in a committed relationship with some chick from the movie before. So since they insisted on bringing Madeleine Swann back, it's very likely something bad will happen to her. If they simply break up, what's the point in having her in the movie in the first place?
Likewise with Lynch's character: Apparently she'll be agent 007 at some point in the movie. Well, she can't be 007 by the end of the movie, can she, so that's probably not going to end well for her.

Although a few good names are detailed to become the next James Bond...In my humble opinion Daniel Craig should do more. I love the Bond films he has done and again in my opinion he stands as one of the best to have played this role if not the best! He brings a more realistic gritty edge to the role and of all the Bond films i do prefer watching his...In my opinion

Bond is a spy, I liked Roger Moore and Piers Brosnan but it was all a bit too whimsical. Daniel Craig brought back the cold, rough element and I think Richard Madden can do that well, he certainly hit the mark in Bodyguard.

I think is high time that I started looking to other forms of entertainment.
For a *long* time, James Bond hasn't been James Bond. I feel as if the producers are trying to mold their viewers to the studio's version of the iconic Ian Fleming British spy.
There's, literally, nothing left of James Bond. It's like an ax that's had the handle replaced with a can of beans and the head replaced with a pencil. We're not even talking about the same kind of thing as we started.
If anyone liked "Dr. No", "From Russia With Love" and "Goldfinger", you'll probably find the modern iterations better suited for a semi-literate comic book reader.
It's sad and tragic that Johnny English is closer to the original (and more serious) than the latest versions of 007.
There's no way I'll be paying hard earnt money to watch the next J.B. movie.
They should consider Richard Armitage. He made his chops in the series Strike Back. He would restore the character of Bond to its pristine quality as a British MI6 agent.

To correct your correction, I acted with Ralph in 1991 (in my first movie role for Peter Greenaway) and shot for three weeks with him. Very cool guy. Introduced himself to me as "Rafe", so the audio was quite right. ;-)
