My biggest hope for the season is that like you said there is no more drama between them and we finally get to see what them as a couple looks like and just have the drama come from the outside and they face it together. Also, I hope they have some resolution with Simon and Sara’s dad, they kinda dropped that storyline in season 2 but I would like to see at least the beginning of some kind or reconciliation between the kids and their dad because he did seem to genuinely care for them and was making an effort to reconnect.
Agreed. I think it's going in the direction of Simon and Wille being officially a couple now (the royal family can't take back Wille stating it in front of a nation-wide live audience after all, they would look bad, so they're gonna have to play along) but that will certainly have its challenges especially for Simon since he's not used to be in the spotlight all the time. I think season 3 is gonna be his turn to struggle, I mean he did struggle in season 2 too but it was Wille I was seriously concerned about in season 2. I hope for them to find a way to cope with the pressure in the end without losing their love for each other.

Which would also make sense from a narrative point of view - we've had the inner conflicts in S2 and the affirmation of their love for each other, now they've gone public and it's the consequences of that. Wow! Andy, you have so sweetly and thoughtfully articulate exactly my own feelings about the Young Royals. Until a few days ago, I knew nothing about this series. I saw it on Netflix so decided to watch. I ended up binge-watching both seasons and came away with the exact same conclusions as you have. I can't wait for season three and I am already sad that it will be the final season. I will miss these charactors and the skillful, beautiful actors and actresses that play the roles. I am hoping that Wilhelm and Simon marry and they ask Sara (who embodies Simon's sibling DNA) to act as surragate birth mother for Wilhelm's heir(s). Everyone wins, including the queen who will see her royal bloodline conntinue.
