We had a tornado hit our house in the middle of the night in 1991. Scariest night of my life. I’ll never forget the sound and the negative pressure. So thankful we survived. The house and barn weren’t as lucky.
There is nothing like that negative pressure feeling. I grew up in Oklahoma and have experienced countless tornadoes. There is nothing to even describe the feeling of a room when a tornado passes. It goes silent and the air is all sucked out of the room. Feels like it last forever when it’s only a few minutes. So scary.
samantha morrow it’s crazy here! Oklahoma can get anywhere from 18-56 tornadoes in the month of May alone. Last year we had over 100 tornado watches, warnings and actual tornadoes that touched down. This year we didn’t have many thankfully, but storm season can get crazy scary here.
I’m glad you guys are safe. Your house are very lucky! They didn’t have any damage. You did the right things to do. You took the kids to your friends house.
This is pretty common in the Heartland. We have a storm shelter. My mom has had 2 houses hit. One was damaged, and the other was taken out in the Joplin storm.
Lol same! I'm in St. Louis County and I've done that once before. Scary. But its so common down here. You know when it's "just a storm" and when it's time to say "oh shit" When ya hear your mama say that, you shelter down fast
Wow ur so cool for pretending natural disasters aren’t life threatening. Considering how many people post about how terrifying it is, maybe stick to speaking for yourself. Natural selection is a wonderful thing and clearly still going strong.
Such a loving family devoted Mom and Dad , with all your new construction time to invest in groung shelter to put your children , be wise safer and closer for you to seek shelter. You could have builder put in safety rails in the shelter to make a large play pen for those precious children. So glad that all are safe Ruth VA. God has truly blessed you both and the children.

We were hit by the 12/10/2021 tornado. It destroyed everything we had home, barn, storage garage, tractor shed, farm shop, four vehicles and our horse trailer, but four adults, one horse, a dog, and one barn cat survived. God’s grace protected us that horrible night. We were injured but alive. Steele, MO

I was so surprised when they went out of their house because when there is a tornado in our town, everyone head to the basement with a phone or two and blankets. We have chairs set up down there.
Basements are underrated here in Texas. But I am from Kentucky and you really miss them in a storm I don’t understand why people don’t pay the extra to get a basement
Hiii I’m from nw Georgia as well!!! And you are right. I’m typing this Thursday night and Alabama has had three deaths I believe and a tornado has touched down. Very scary😦 stay safe everyone💕💕 prayers to all
@@KylieeStephens I can still remember the 2011 Tuscaloosa-Birmingham tornado and just by looking at it on the weather channel and knew it was an F5. At one point the tornado took up the whole screen. But there has to be two or more tornado alleys
Shortly after this, a tornado hit Fultondale, Al..one teen died, another man lost both legs, whole neighborhoods destroyed. Suburbs of Birmingham. So sad.
Idk why but all I could think of was the babies car seats. They’re heads are up too high past the top of the seat. That could be deadly for those babies in an accident. I know they have 6 babies but they have cheap $40 convertible seats that would be safer as they’re heads wouldn’t be past the top of the seat.
Me and my grandma were so close to getting hit by a huge tree during a storm Last year in March we had a major storm, my mom and sister were in the car stuck under a tree by my neighbors, me and my grandma were sitting in the living room corner and it wasn’t that bad yet until boom lighting hit the Second biggest tree in are yard, it just barely missed the house by an inch and it was so loud and I was so scared bc we couldn’t get to our basement. This tree streches across our longg yard I mean are yard is huge and it went over the creek into our landing and into our neighbors yard. That was one of the scariest moments of my life that. I remember besides the tornados that happens on my birthday. We also live on a lake so we see all the water come out of the lake and we have to go outside to get to our basement and it is super scary. Praying for all y’all who have gotten damage and stuff during massive storms, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes and every other type of storm.
It’s must be terrifying to have tornadoes, where I’m from we don’t get them (Australia) but there was one freak storm event where we had mini tornado thankfully nothing serious
