No, the reason is because people are buying into the breaks. Breakers are just entrepreneurs that found a good way to sell cards and make money. There's nothing wrong with it

People paying outrageous prices for boxes, singles, autos etc. Panini has massively overproduced these cards really starting in 2019 when they milked the cow with Hoops Premium. I got out shortly before the last mini crash in 2020. Caitlin Clark will be another whose prices will drop significantly really soon. We are in a junk wax 2.0 era, but no one wants to admit to it.

So, they manufacture a “rare” card (which probably costs them $0.35), hold some back for these boxes, then charge some made up value based on the rarity they created? You’re better off buying $5k in scratch-offs.
Sports card makers have it made…a licence to steal from the collectors…wow, I don’t collect basketball my son wants too but basketball hobby boxes are so expensive. I just like seeing these “high end” boxes, I hope you all got a card you really can enjoy or flip.

Similar companies have 10 employees and charge more than us or use predatory auction formats. Our last stream was 12 hours long and For 10 hours we could not offer a single thing to customers who wanted to buy in because we prefilled our whole night in the first two hours and sold out our store. We are an industry leader at what we do, and our community shows us tremendous support week in and week out. We do all we can for our customers and it clearly shows that we’re doing something right. Let that sink in.
