    The only thing I can really say after running mine is that the stock exhaust has to go if you do buy a better carb. While running a larger really expensive carb I did notice that I got better performance but it wasn't great because more fuel in means a better exhaust is needed to get the burned and spent fuel out.

    Bro I installed one of those racing heads from Amazon on my pk80 wild cat, gained 5 more mph But engine got hot then I looked at the piston an was burnt , I also broke a strut on the cylinder bolt trying to tourqe it , now I the stock head with 3 bolts lol, going to buy new cylinder struts . An better cylinder an piston , note I tired even running rich on that head , maybe was leaking air causing it to over heat , fuel ratio did help but not enough carefully with them after market Amazon heads , I know they make one for my wild cat going to try that In the future thanks bro

    What I'm curious about is these engines? Seems like there's not too many & the ones I see look like they are made by 1-2
    Metal Foundry's over in China? So you have these choices & again as you look all these "Engine" kits are being sold to you
    OR "AT YOU"? So we've got to guess which "KIT" has quality parts inside or what's crap within the kit? That's a big problem
    after spending $300 bucks & learning that half the stuff in your kit was poor quality? How/what to buy is a major issue but
    after watching this I Will Know ! I have no doubt. thanks very much & peace

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There are a handful of factories producing the components having different dimensions and the assembly shops will often switch who they buy from and have to add extra gaskets and such to make the engines run. Tons of garbage in the castings and it seems many have unskilled labor assembling the engines using hammers.

    • @diggy-d8w
      @diggy-d8w 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks, while I've not dug into this that far I knew by looking that it was way below standards for other motors. I'm
      not looking for Rocket Science good quality but I've looked at how well made gas drone engines are made & then
      motorcycle engines, I'd think there'd be a little more quality as those manufacturer's compete? Guess not & I've
      put off buying hoping to see better stuff. Again, I appreciate your time. peace

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@diggy-d8w The main competition is lowering the cost and marketing. One needs to tear down the engine and sort out problems on all of them

    • @diggy-d8w
      @diggy-d8w 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, I think I've noticed that in most the videos I've watched but you're the only that said IT To me. Most people would
      think that buying a "Motor" would be one closed unit that was considered "Good to Go"? Another issue is all the different
      things in the "Kits" you get w/ the engine. Each piece must be looked at but how would you know about these parts until
      you were told or had a break down? But the engine unit itself I would think was a solid unit - you're saying that once you
      buy one needs to have the basic tools to tear down a new motor & then rebuild it w/ parts that are stronger/better?
      Having to do this, & I thank you for spelling it out, defies logic to me but I do stand corrected ! So I buy an engine
      knowing that all of them need to be rebuilt? And how would I know which parts inside "Said Motor" were needed
      to be replaced? It's almost mind boggling to me & tell me if I'm stating this correct; I buy an engine knowing
      that I need to go thru it to put in better parts? I feel so stupid even typing this but please tell me this is the
      case?? Wow, so I buy an engine & I keep buying additional parts until I get something to WORK good?
      Hey, I do appreciate sharing this w/ me before I jumped in not knowing. I'd be at a loss because no one
      expects to buy something that needs to be redone before they use it? Blows my little mind, lmao.
      I do thank you for your time. IDKnow if I'll ever get started now but I'm not quitting yet, thanks again

      There's a difference in how the Chinese calculate engine displacement (and add in some misdirection) and the way the rest of the world calculate it. That adds to the confusion. But YA, it's all over the place. There are Big Bore Kits sold for scooters to increase the displacement and many just flat out lie

      A real pk80 or zeda80, make sure it's one that has 8mm mounting studs. There are a lot of cheaper older versions of china doll motors on ebay that still have the 6mm mounting bolts that break off easily. Avoid them. Also, upgrade the throttle tube assembly with a metal one, the plastic stock ones in the kits always break where the cable attaches.

      If you have a reed and some serious porting mods, a true balanced crank and a fat expansion chamber then yes it would be worthy to use a 21mm carb. Prolly a decent choice. A mildly ported motor, it would be overkill as the engine can only move so much air/fuel.

    as someone who worked landscape maintenance i know that most of our tools were 2 stroke, chainsaw, trimmer, gas blower ect. and i was always under the assumption it was becasue not only the versatility of movement not having to worry about the engine staying level during operation as well as their abilitiy and optimized performance as an engine that is designed to be at full throttle for long periods of time. for example during hedge season we use gas 2 stroke hedge trimmers and run them up to 3 hours straight at sometimes comeplete full throttle. these engines operate like this 10 hours a day and these machines last 5 years or more.
    I always here people on the motorized bike community though say that 2 strokes dont like to be at full throttle for long peiods of time. Im curios why is this the case as most other 2 stroke engines are designed to be operated at full throttle for long periods of time,
    i men think about it Even lumberjacks how would they be expected to work all day if theyre always running half throttle and letting the engine cool down every hour.

    Anyone curious about the death of the gentleman in Colorado should know that it was NOT the fault of the bike Hughes sold him. The reason he mentions safety and the importance of gear is because there are people that can hit you and send you flying off your bike to your doom, which is exactly what happened with the bike he sold. I could only dig up two separate incidents where a motorized biker died because they were both launched off their bikes due to impact with an SUV in 2019 and 2021 respectively.
    Get yourself some good brakes, wear your dang helmet, be aware of your surroundings, stay sober on the bike, and you’re good to go

    I live about 2500' in elevation. I took my Phantom 85 V3 out for a test spin. Runs great but after awhile about 2-3 miles, it wants to bog down and cut off. That is because it's too rich, right? I've got jets from 65 up to 70. What jet size do you think is best for my elevation?

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it runs worse after a few miles then I'd suspect the coil or CDI going bad. next, I'd look to see if the gas tank is venting properly. might be starving for gas

SBP ES02 is not available.. Do you have any suggestions or do you have one you can sell me??? I’m in Cleveland Ohio...

    Hi, I'm from South Africa, happy to have discovered your channel. I use my bike for fishing and tow a trailer, i sometimes find it difficult to start the motor by pedaling, i wish to fit a pull start, our local guys say the pull starts is crap and don't recomend it. What is your experience and can you recomend one that won't break the bank? Looking forward to hear from you.

    Hi Eugene, i’ve been looking at purchasing another 80cc kit. However I’ve looked and a couple of different models and the specs of the motor are exactly the same (identical) but the maximum speeds are about 10kph difference. Why would that be is there a speed limiter on these motors? If not am I able to increase the speed with my racing head and racing carburettor that I have. Thanks very much. Take care buddy.👍

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Expect 40-51kph on average. A poorly balanced engine might get less. An engine with less trash in the ports and a better balanced crank might get closer to 60kph. No, there isn't a limiter per se, but the limits are manufacturing variables / defects

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      NT is the best other than a True Dellorto. The "HP" is a cheap ripoff. No real magic carb. Balancing, porting, port timing, proper expansion chamber, and jetting is what will make these motors run best. Once you have all that work in a 50cc Morini or KTM engine will be far better, cheaper, and more reliable

      @@HughesMotorized a stock kit from ebay dynos at 1.5hp without the air filter cover adds .5hp then jet matching adds a ton it just shows its not a very refined carburator

    Extra oil can help seal the combustion chamber to make more power.

      Extra oil also leaves extra carbon. That carbon is abrasive and can accelerate wear

    I’ve been running 40:1 for years and years in just about every 2 stroke engine I’ve had and I’ve never had any issues with it not oiling properly or wearing out prematurely!!! Infact it’s more than good enough!!!! The thing most people don’t understand is that 2 stroke motors are happier in the high rpms and they don’t like idling too much!!!! You end up with fouled plugs and clogged spark arrestors when you constantly run a 2 stroke engine in the lower rpm range…

    Thanks for this great video! I’m getting an engine kit tomorrow, I have 2 stroke synthetic oil. The engine has not been used at all. Should I go 16:1 during break in. I’m confused on why everyone keeps saying 16:1, then some people say 20 or 30. Then you say 40. Thanks!

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Go to HW store and get cheap 2 cycle oil. Mix 40:1 from the start. After you run 1 gallon thru then use the synthetic if you want

      16:1 break in period (2 tanks which is also one gallon)
      So after 1 gallon, slowly go 40:1 doing a plug check to see how rich you're burning.
