Welcome to the neighborhood, Tom! Although bird feeders are really fun to attract the birds and then watch the birds, I think you'll soon realize why we all here on Drummond take down the feeders in Spring when the first bears are sighted. Anything that smells like potential food will keep them coming back, day in, day out, whether or not they have cubs. Up here, bears have been known to break into cars, garages, cabins (and therefore campers) if they smell a hint of potential food, whether it be trash or birdseed or something even better. Enjoy the adventure!
Thank you! It’s an amazing experience to live off grid. Not easy, but worth the work. I did find out later that night that she has a cub! That’s where the more aggressive than usual behavior came from. Cub was probably close by. They both came for a visit just before midnight, ended up filming them for about 20 minutes. They both just stopped by again about an hour ago! I don’t think she would have attacked even if she made it to the door, but she sure wasn’t happy!!
Oh believe me, I will never hesitate again! The only reason I did this time was because out of the several dozens of bear I see, just yelling ‘Hey Bear!’ gets them to leave! This one had zero cares. The bike has a new spot!!

What an amazing and scary video. I'd give just about anything to be where you are at though! Be Safe.

Guess you’ll be taking in the bird feeders.
I do enjoy watching the bears a lot when they come by, but I am thinking of moving the feeders a little further away!
I would’ve kicked my bike out of the way long time ago! 😂

@@thomas.salwoski I have heard that some are getting bolder than ever.
Yes for sure. I’m thinking maybe a neighbor is feeding this one. They usually aren’t this comfortable around people.
Spoke too soon here she comes
This one was different than most I’ve seen. They usually scare pretty easily! Keep your eye out 👀
