I had a similar trip like yours back in 1988 where we left Tokyo about 10 am & with all the time zones landed in San Fransisco about the same time we left Tokyo on the same day. It was a long, long tday & you had Jetlag as well.
Before TH-cam I did Osaka to Vancouver with Air Canada. We left Kansai (RJBB) at 6pm and got into Vancouver at about 10:30 am the same day. The only way I know how to time travel now.
Got a question to ask, were you forced to close down your window shade after takeoff or you choose to do it yourself? Asking because if we're forced to close down window shades then I rather not sit next to the window.
Nobody told me to close my window I probably closed it to watch the TV or to sleep. It's a 13 hour + flight. About 50% at night over the pacific. Not much to look at water at night
My ticket cost me about $1700 cdn or $1800 AUS or about $1300 USD. I'm sure a ticket from SYD to SFO can be found far cheaper but I was flying on 2 one way tickets from Vancouver to Singapore than Sydney to Vancouver again with a 2 week cruise in between. My seat was 42L. I slept a little bit. But I dont usually sleep that much on planes
I’ve heard that plane in particular is leased to Qantas they just haven’t gone through the repainting process, I might be wrong but that’s what I’ve heard from another TH-camr

Great video, it's makes me feel like I'm on the plane!
Nice video. Makes me miss Australia :)
Really impressive takeoff performance for a 13 hr flight. Measuring on Google looks like they only used about 8000-8200 feet of runway.
Excellent video clip of UA 777 take off out of Sydney
Did you check in a bag? Were they strict with the weight. How was the food and seat comfort(aka recline)
long flight with not much to see from the window.
love your SYD ramp footage, you have captured it well also the landing

What's the seat number, did you sleep on the plane, if so, how many hours and how much did you pay to fly United to San Francisco?
