I'm happy to see this video has done well. Since filming, I've built 2 more AKs from parts kits, an AMD-65 and AMD-63 UF. Maybe Chris and I can film a part 2 sometime this year.
I bought my first AK a couple years ago, a used Arsenal SLR107 that already had an ALG trigger installed. Only gave $700 for it and I've put about 1500rds through it since then with the only malfunctions being 1 or 2 light strikes.
I love the old Rugged Wasr 10 63 I come across for 500, most of us are pretty much weekend fun shooters if that and likely will never face a situation where we are going to wear a rifle out other than cleaning it to death.
That Yugo shown does not have a 1.5mm thick receiver, it is only a 1mm NPAP UF. Century no longer imports Yugo/Serbian rifles, Zastava USA just took over their importation.
I have an NPAP. I added a Zhukov rear stock, a Wolf Super Spring, a Trijicon front sight and a Lantac brake. It shoots like a champ each and every time. The Lantac makes it louder with added fire effect shooting out. Makes the fun factor ten fold.
I have an Arsenal SLR 95 milled received and thought that they were the best AKs. Can you provide me with some facts to back your opinion, if you care what other folks think of you here. I also have a Sajga M and a VEPR in 7.62x54.
You guy's missed a lot of the AKM and AK style rifles from the 90's. some of the AK's from the 90's were some the best built stamp and milled AK's ever made.
Best AK47 you can buy currently and possibly the best ever is the Arsenal SAM7 SF84 or better yet the SAM7 SF84R.......there is no better AK47 available new ANYWHERE to the civilian market in the USA anyway and possibly anywhere. I have a SAM7 SF84R and can obtain 1.5 groups with a cheap Vortex at 100 yards with 63 year old eyes. And don't give me any crap about the old Legends, they were fine firearms but they did NOT have the quality of the receivers nor barrels that the SAM7 series of rifles have....and I have been shooting AK47's since the late 1970s
The legend is just as good (forged reciever, chrome lined hammer forged barrel) and actually an example of an ak used in war (type 3 clone). Sam7sf is way too long and the folding trunnion that sticks out is flat out ugly!
I am lucky enough to own both and though both are SUPERB AK's I simply get tighter groups at 100 yds using the exact same optics and mounts using the SAM7SF84R that I own. Both have had trigger upgrades (ALG Ultimate), and though I have no doubts that both are "lifetime" rifles just for whatever reason at least with a fairly cool barrel I get slightly tighter groups with the milled Arsenal. What my Son just completed is a Galil Ace build using ALG's new trigger group for that rifle. He has printed single hole groups at 100 yds with that Galil. I will admit that between the milled Arsenal and the Molot Vepr there is so little difference at 100 yards that the differences are insignificant. Also the Vepr has a slightly thicker barrel so when heated up I would imagine that the groups would open up faster using the SAM7. Too bad the fucktards in our Government has for now anyway banned the further supply of Veprs. I am already getting ready to turn my Vepr into a safe queen for investment purposes. OH, an amazing surprise I have found as far as accuracy goes is with of all things a stamped DDI that I picked up for a song at a gun show. Took that thing out after installing an ALG trigger and was amazed at the accuracy that cheap assed rifle provided me. Has a Green Mountain barrel but I sure wasn't expecting the accuracy i have run out of that rifle. Ugly thing but still has a great bore. Just goes to show ya that there are surprises out there.
I own the best AK made in the U.S. It's the Sam 7 classic made in Las Vegas. It has the thick vepr barrel and milled receiver. Oh and the paint is different with awesome trigger pull.
That's not the best at all. They're known to have issues excessively rattling gas tubes, poorly crafted wood, questionable paint finish. I've had one it was not on the level of a legend
you can find them pop up here and there new in box from the early 80's or 90's. Usually between $1500-$3000. Go to a Canadian online gun shop and you can see the newer production from Polytech and Norinco. They make a cheap AR-15 but the history behind it is interesting. The original design they obtained from M16s left over from Vietnam and that is how they got the design
Just found this video...good vid BTW. I'll prolly buy a Wasr-10 as long as its a good build...but I do plan on building a AK-74 from a parts kit...just gotta pickup a few tools.
I have an Arsenal 107 with a canted front sight, true story. :( I've also never had the wire clip shepard's hook pop out. There's multiple wire clips and I'm sure some are horrible, but that doesn't mean all wire clips are bad. In fact, I prefer my shepard's hook because I use it to pull up the hammer spring ends around the hammer. Small convenience.
Halfway through, just wanted to say that I’m pretty sure the N-PAP receiver is only 1.0mm thick. The PAP and O-PAP’s are 1.5mm with the bulged trunions like an RPK or VEPR.
There are too many variances to each version of today's AK to call it an "AKM" rifle. AKM's are simply stamped versions of the AK-47, and AK's of each country implement their own individual spin on how they manufacture their rifles. As such, we should stick to the acronym, "AK", because while all of these rifles are not necessarily AKM's or AK-47 rifles, they are all Kalashnikov rifles.
The npap df is a great choice. Wrap the stock in para cord...where your cheek rests..and the butt or the stock. Did you know there is para cord that comes with different strands in it? Fishing line, fire line, snare wire... God Bless Anerica
~I just subscribed to Jeff's "TheWabbitSeason" Channel. I love all things AK. I think I'm addicted. ~I think the Polish AK shown with the Plum Furniture is handsome.
I would NEVER buy an I.O again. Bought an AK from them a while back. The rivets on the receiver from the first one started have some play after less than a hundred rounds . And then it just came loose altogether. Sent it in to get it fixed . Did a terrible job, if they ever did their job at all because the rivets came loose AGAIN. Sent it in a third time and and when I got it back I pawned it. Never want to here the letters IO again
Trying to understand this, your saying century cv39 would not hold up if I had to put 100.000 rounds thought it, 200.000 rounds thought it, please tell me, because I don't think my century world let me down, under any circumstances
What ever happened to the Sajga M? I got one, but they disappeared. I also got an SLR95 and the 782x54 VEPR. All of the converted to the NYS Unsafe Act.
Yes I want to buy akm with cast trunions and. canted site...and I really want chemically treated barrel that starts to wear at 2000 rnds..did I mention I am also needing soft ..poorly heat treated bolt and bolt carrier.and it don't matter what brand ..from io to arsenal.or ddi ..century..i just want to look impressive at the range
all you guys bad mouthing the io., guaranteed you never had one. just jumping on the wagon. some of the new ones made in florida are really good. i just got a good deal on the io nano pistol and im gonna try it out. the rivets are perfect, the trunyon is good and the sight isnt canted. it feels solid as a rock. we'll see how it does. if it sucks, i sell it. no biggie.
I would never buy an I.O. as it may blow-up in your face. NPAPs aren't made all that well either, they are made strictly for the civilian market and will not last, notice on the receiver it says "read owners manual before use"? You will never see that on an AK made by a military arms manufacturer. If you're gonna go with a yugo, you're better off building it from a kit. I would say if you want an AK that will last which your life may depend on and not spend a lot of money, get a WASR-10, if you want a pretty AK that will do the same thing as the WASR then buy an Arsenal, better yet, instead of buying an Arsenal, Cerakote a WASR and save yourself a bunch money or build an AK using a kit from a former com-bloc country such as Romania, Poland, Hungary etc... I would recommend a VEPR but since they have been banned and they take proprietary parts, they are good for collecting and occasional shooting there are no spare parts available in the US, so if you need parts you're gonna pay a very high price for used parts if you can even find them...
Oscar Delta You are incorrect. Most AK variants imported in the United States are not built on the same military assembly lines hence the user manual information which has been on different kinds of AK's in the past and not just the Serbian n-pap
Got an NPAP DF with about 8,000 round through it. Head spacing is just fine, butter smooth action, nice trigger. All I've done is wolf extra power springs, and retaining plate. No cracks or anything coming loose or bent. I would say they compete quite well with any other AK. But, if you want to spend a $1,000 more for an arsenal Sam7, go ahead. I'll spend that money on a shit ton of ammo and accessories. WASR is great as well. Close in price to an NPAP, pull trigger, go pew pew, the end.
+J MAR yeah I've realized how much people love to spread misinformation about the npap. Got mine when they were 500 and laugh at people who say they're a bad ak.
American Tactical Imports ATI has a really good milled AK-47 is built off the opapp parts kit the Milling is absolutely perfect I got one I put about 5000 rounds through it very accurate the sites were a little off but the gun makes up for it it's a really really heavy duty gun it could survive anything you put it through it's mailed out of 5150 the barrel is 5150 very good gun
Oh man, the more I watch, the more it hurts. The stock is based on the "rear trunnion". They don't "just cut out" or "just drill holes" to install side folders or under folders. "Great IO rifles?" Those truly don't exist. I notice yours doesn't have a cleaning rod, Robski's didn't come with a cleaning rod either, and they had to ship him one. He also didn't even REALLY mistreat the one he tested, specifically just to see if it would get to 5k rounds. They also had garbage riveting right out of the box, again, not a fault of Robski's. He addressed all of that in his reply to Uli's letter. Just stop defending garbage, please. I guess I also missed you talking about one of the most glaring differences, stamped vs. milled receivers.
Original Beard, you lucky bastard! I was in Afghanistan when Obama signed the Russian arms importation ban. After that they sold off the shelf and the price shot up 200%. Now lucky to find one used for under $2k
@@kennethb375 unfortunately, Gunbroker, which as you know is hit or miss. SGL21s and SGL31s are going for $2k and up. Saigas unconverted and converted are now well over $1k. You will ALWAYS have a bidding war. I'd have gotten my Saiga for $599 If not for some asshole who ended up giving up over 5 fucking dollars.
I don't know if picking the M&P Sport for an example of lower quality AR was the right choice. Yeah they are inexpensive, but they take a beating just like the higher end rifles. Mine has survived two training classes and thousands of rounds.
I agree with you - I also have an M&P 15 and love it. I think we were referring to price and value more than anything else - just may have poorly phrased it. Thanks for watching!
I'm pretty sure they said akm a couple times actually. They probably just say ak47 to make it simple for those who aren't as familiar with the ak. But with that said, they should have pointed out the clear differences.
@@crosisofborg5524 If I were being a dick (go fuck your hat by the way), I would have made a list to everything they said that was wrong... If someone is going to make a video "educating" people on something, they probably shouldn't be ignorant on the subject. 👍🏻
As an outsider it's bizarre to see people talking about weapons like collectors items. It's quite fascinating. If you had better gun safety laws and lower crime rate I would pay you a visit.
I would recommend you have a discussion with someone who is competent on gun laws and crime statistics in the US before you judge the firearm community in the US. The media greatly over exaggerates the current situation in the US.
@@120masterpiece "The media greatly over exaggerates the current situation in the US." Well considering how huge the country actually is I guess it's overall not as bad as it seems and probably depends on the state.
Are the Yugo N-Paps really 1.5 mil. ? I have heard that has been disproved. Maybe the O-Paps. Does anyone know for sure? I have heard that the N-Pap is actually thinner than the WASR.
any help would be appreciated..how much should i be paying for a Saiga AK-47 --Tapco furniture, front hand telescoping shoulder and pistol grip comes with 1 mag-7.62x39....thanks in advanced.
Its a bit of a catch-22. The Saigas were recently banned from importation... However, the "black rifle" market just tanked after the election, so sales on AK's and AR's are down right now and its somewhat of a buyer's market on that stuff... Its hard to tell without seeing the guns in person. It looks like Saigas and Veprs can be found on Gunbroker right now for $800 or less. I guess the answer is: its all relative and only you can really decide if its worth it to you or not. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
thank you very much! yes it is relative, my use of the Sig elite is non existent, whereas I'm sure the Saiga would find some range time..thanks again, and keep the great vids coming.
Due to TH-cam's new policies, he received a few account strikes due to his AK build videos. As such, he has privatized all of his firearm related content for the time being. I am sure he will publish the content again when this all blows over.
We usually have an AK party in late spring or early summer in Avon at Diamond Collision. We post the details on INGO (ingunowners) in the gunsmithing forum.
Brett Marshall I dont have hands on experience with Riley but my general advice for purchasing is WASR 10 or NPAP for budget and Arsenal or VEPR (now banned from import) for quality. Make sure your parts are machined, heat treated properly, and from country that uses the AK.
Technically yes. You are not "technically" allowed to swap out parts which will leave you with less than 10 US made parts in your rifle. With that being said, noone has ever been arrested for doing such a thing...
Nogamesplease it’s pretty sad when we have been conditioned by crap guns that we consider 2000 rounds a test of ruggedness. I have quality guns that have twice that amount through them and they aren’t even broken in yet.
I got a WASR-10 back when they were about $350-400. It isn't pretty, but it shoots every time I pull the trigger and that's all I ask of an AK.
for a second i thought your profile picture was a cat dabbing
and a CHF chrome lined barrel
I just picked up a WASR last week. The only thing that was shitty was the furniture. I planned on swapping it anyways.
Yes I agree I bought my wasr 10 back in 05 n paid 441 n still a great gun

I would just buy a saiga ak47
I own one and regret nothing.
Original Beard, you lucky bastard! I was in Afghanistan when Obama signed the Russian arms importation ban. After that they sold off the shelf and the price shot up 200%. Now lucky to find one used for under $2k
@@kennethb375 I got a brand new Saiga 7.62x39 rear end conversion for $845 in late 2017.
@@RPGGunman you got a good source man?
@@kennethb375 unfortunately, Gunbroker, which as you know is hit or miss. SGL21s and SGL31s are going for $2k and up. Saigas unconverted and converted are now well over $1k. You will ALWAYS have a bidding war. I'd have gotten my Saiga for $599 If not for some asshole who ended up giving up over 5 fucking dollars.
WOW, I guess I should sell my Polytech spiker, and STEYER Maadi to buy one of these?
I don't know if picking the M&P Sport for an example of lower quality AR was the right choice. Yeah they are inexpensive, but they take a beating just like the higher end rifles. Mine has survived two training classes and thousands of rounds.
I agree with you - I also have an M&P 15 and love it. I think we were referring to price and value more than anything else - just may have poorly phrased it. Thanks for watching!
What is your opinions on polytech? I just bought one it’s an under folder
I recently acquired a Century Arms MISR S/A.
where are the MADDIs
What about Riley Defense AK47's and? Are they any good as well since they are made in America.
No, check out ak operators union. Rob Ski does 5,000 round torture tests on most ak variants available in the us.
Love this!
Just the fact that you reference everything as "AK47", is more than enough to discredit this video.
I'm pretty sure they said akm a couple times actually. They probably just say ak47 to make it simple for those who aren't as familiar with the ak. But with that said, they should have pointed out the clear differences.
You’re just a dick and this is your way of trying to sound relevant.
@@crosisofborg5524 If I were being a dick (go fuck your hat by the way), I would have made a list to everything they said that was wrong...
If someone is going to make a video "educating" people on something, they probably shouldn't be ignorant on the subject.
👍🏻
I very much enjoyed this clip. Thanks for informing me on the ak more than I know. (Rack a round and squeeze the trigger) 😂 I'm subbed! Peace.
There is no more Yugoslavia. NPAP is made in Serbia now. Factory is the same.
Only ak variants worth getting are the finnish sako's
As an outsider it's bizarre to see people talking about weapons like collectors items. It's quite fascinating. If you had better gun safety laws and lower crime rate I would pay you a visit.
I would recommend you have a discussion with someone who is competent on gun laws and crime statistics in the US before you judge the firearm community in the US. The media greatly over exaggerates the current situation in the US.
@@120masterpiece "The media greatly over exaggerates the current situation in the US."
Well considering how huge the country actually is I guess it's overall not as bad as it seems and probably depends on the state.
Are the Yugo N-Paps really 1.5 mil. ? I have heard that has been disproved. Maybe the O-Paps. Does anyone know for sure? I have heard that the N-Pap is actually thinner than the WASR.
I think that NPAP is 1mm and OPAP is 1.5mm.
What is the name the gun 3rd from right to left
Trying to find info on my intrac ak 74 isn't easy.. anyone know anything on an intrac??
any help would be appreciated..how much should i be paying for a Saiga AK-47 --Tapco furniture, front hand telescoping shoulder and pistol grip comes with 1 mag-7.62x39....thanks in advanced.
more specifically, he's wanting to trade me for my Sig Sauer p226 elite stainless, which I have a 1,000 price on.
What's the one long tube black furniture on the vepr
Surprised he doesn't know that the Century Arms RPK was an AES-10B as he "guessed that Century Arns called their RPK an AES -108 ???
What's wrong with inter arms?
annoyed that Chinese Type 56 rifles are not mentioned as they are absolutely superior to all of these other AK rifles talked about here.
Guys - where can i get that polish 1960 AK w the purple furniture? Is there a brand/company producing those?
Atlantic Firearms - WBP Fox w/ plum furniture. Hope you can snag one my man
Get a PSAK47 gen 2. Awesome rifle
Incorrect about 922r. You may not have more than 10 foreign-made parts
K B Doesnt apply if you're not the manufacturer.
first thing no CENTURY ARMS or IO
VEPR 54r is my favorite.
I love shooting my VEPR 54R. I took it off for the video but I also have a 3-9 Kalinka optics POSP scope for her.
All o can find on his channel are video games?! Is there a different channel for grown ups? Heard he has good AK vids but didn't see any...
Due to TH-cam's new policies, he received a few account strikes due to his AK build videos. As such, he has privatized all of his firearm related content for the time being. I am sure he will publish the content again when this all blows over.
@@MarksmanTV dang! I've seen a few great build videos disappear. Freedom huh?
Anyone have any opinions of the Romanian MK99 variant?
DOES WABBIT SEASON LIVE IN INDIANA TOO? I NEED TO BUILD WITH HIM!!!
Yes. I live very close to Chris's store.
@@TheWabbitSeason do you do build parties? I'm in the Indianapolis area and go into Marksman's a couple times a month.
We usually have an AK party in late spring or early summer in Avon at Diamond Collision. We post the details on INGO (ingunowners) in the gunsmithing forum.
@@TheWabbitSeason I'll have to check that out on INGO.
Jeff what do you think about Riley defense AK 47?
Brett Marshall I dont have hands on experience with Riley but my general advice for purchasing is WASR 10 or NPAP for budget and Arsenal or VEPR (now banned from import) for quality. Make sure your parts are machined, heat treated properly, and from country that uses the AK.
How much money
I live in california , so what now ? 🔥🔥
Carlos Palacio no those are too dangerous only dull sticks are allowed
Get new government.
Looking for East German. Ak ! 7:639 or ?

What no VEPR K?
How much buying ak 47 in India currency how much tell me?
70011.50 rupee
Scott Morrison's true identity revealed, an ak peddler secretly posing as a man named jeff HAHAHAH
Does 922r apply to modifications made after purchase?
Technically yes. You are not "technically" allowed to swap out parts which will leave you with less than 10 US made parts in your rifle. With that being said, noone has ever been arrested for doing such a thing...
Except none of these are “ AK47’s “
Quick someone call the gun police, this guy found a discrepancy between akm rifles and the mass culture designation ak47
Graham Lopez what are you Fucking gay
What would you call the Century Polish 1960 Type 3?
No but I'm also not the internet Kalashnikov equivalent of the Gestapo, so I got that going for me
*Ackchyually*
CAI, iO, RAS Ak's are good for about 3500 rds, Then they go to shit.
What about a Egyptian AK-47?????
I have had 2 Egyptian AK's one an early import and the other is a kit gun. Both were/are going strong after more than 2k RDS each.
Maadi is a beast..
Nogamesplease it’s pretty sad when we have been conditioned by crap guns that we consider 2000 rounds a test of ruggedness. I have quality guns that have twice that amount through them and they aren’t even broken in yet.
i want that rpk
i love my ras47
Me too I don't car what no body say and I like my ab2 underfolder
+ras 47 sell that grenade bro
Shoot the RAS, you won't like it for too long because it will crumble like an Oreo cookie.
