Thanks for posting videos of Dabney Coleman and other recently deceased former guests on David Letterman's show. Watching these videos is a great way to celebrate the lives of these individuals, and remember how great it was to watch the Letterman show back in the day.

I loved the character he developed for the Chevy Chase film "Modern Problems." Mr. Coleman, you were a most excellent thespian. Peace to his family.
As an 80's kid he was an icon in films like Wargames, Cloak and Dagger; even into the 90s I remember his Fox sitcom "Dexter's Class."

Holy smokes Dabney Coleman was sharp. That exchange re Merrill Markoe was so funny. We know now that she was Letterman's ex-GF but at the time what a great way to put Dave on the spot. Dave's reaction made it even funnier.

Given that he said in the interview that she was one of six writers on the show, I am surprised that she only wrote one episode. Seems like a low output.

With WarGames having been considered a classic for so long, it's interesting to see Dabney Coleman express surprise that the movie turned out as effective as it is, and to see Dave react to the synopsis the way everyone must have back then, never having heard of or imagined computer hacking before.

That's how great he was. I remember him from about four roles. But I've seen him in so many that he just blended into. Many more than I had remembered.

BUFFALO BILL was wonderful, a silly, very, very funny show. He was also marvelous in CLOAK AND DAGGER, 9 TO 5, ON GOLDEN POND, WARGAMES, and countless TV shows since the 60s. Every time I see his name pop up as a guest star in a TV show I smile. And the interplay between Dabney and Dave right here was quick, and excellent. Each knew just when to drop in for the zinger. Thank you, Dabney. We miss you, and as we like to say round these parts, ya done good.
I'm on a Dabney Coleman binch. The man I never new I've always known. Rest in peace and thank you for everything and for hitting me so hard on Yellowstone.
It's weird that I was just thinking about him the night before I learned of his passing. His acting always left such an impression that he was impossible to forget.

Great actor, amusing interview. My favorite film he was in is On Golden Pond. But Tootsie and 9 to 5 are great films too. And I enjoyed Wargames and Cloak & Dagger as well. I'll have to check out Short Time.

The man was very self-aware. He knows that Letterman and him are "doing the do". Two guys like that talking in the 80s, that was livin'. Serious guys who loved unserious material. R. I. P.
Very weird, I went down a Dabney Coleman video rabbit hole just two days ago.
Watched an ep of Buffalo Bill then watched a later Letterman interview.
Then I just watched Cloak and Dagger just this morning before I knew he died.
I've gotta watch C&D again. Haven't seen it since probably the 80s on video. But I remember really liking it.

Man it was so weird yesterday. A commercial came on television with the 9 to 5 theme song and I started singing it and then went on a spiel about the movie and the people in it. I said, "I think Dabney Coleman is still alive, too". About 10 minutes later someone asked me: "Did you know?"
All three of the lead actresses are still alive (as I write this).
Did he say he didn't play a chauvinistic and egotistical character in "War Games?" Hmmm.
