What a fun trip! Beautiful scenery and for an Athens-based excursion, it totally looks worthwhile. The islands have a slightly different vibe - more traditional architecture and windy paths through shops and restaurants. But also more touristy. Thanks for taking us along! Only one mistake it's the Aegean sea. The name came from Theseus father, the Athenian king Aegean. After Theseus killed the Minotaur in Crete as they were returning to Athens, in their joy, forgot to raise white sails as was agreed if they returned victorious and they were coming back with Black sails. As king Aegean was looking for his son's return, from the temple of Poseidon, he saw the black sails on the ship and thinking his son was lost, jumped to his death in the sea bellow. In his honor the sea was named Aegean sea.

Rent a car and have a small trip to Loutraki is about 85 klm from Athens. A beautiful beach with a lot of coffee places and restaurants .For food I recommend Maistrali and Strouga

If you are planning to remain in Athens and you are nature lovers you can drive 20km north of center of Athens and explore Mt Parnes/Parnitha. Now it's packed with snow. Since Monday and on will snow cover whole Athens and it's nice chance to explore the nature which surround a huge metropolis like Athens.

I remember that Greece is one of the few countries in Europe where hiring a car in person is more often cheaper than online. I don't know if it's still true, but it was n this case. Also, if you're looking for an automatic, then book in advance somehow.

Do Greeks drink beer like the Brits? (warm / room temp) or is it like America where anything less than brain-freeze cold is not appropriate? Do you guys use iOS devices or Android? Just wanted to know if the data from Google Maps shows a better real-world situation vs apple maps on a iPhone. I wonder if you could expand to the point of knowing whether iOS system of cell phones work better for traveling or are the google-centric apps the way to go, no matter the cell phone one uses. I've never heard anyone address this specifically so it would be lovely to hear your point of view. Regarding Greece ...... it seems familiar in some ways. It seems much "cooler" a place to visit. And don't mean temperature but ambiance and the people. I can feel it is not as jovial or engaging as maybe some other places you've visited such as Mexico, etc. The food seems not as varied as Mexico, or maybe you guys just didn't have the gastronomic quaintness of a place like San Miguel de Allende (and the more favorable costs as well) and kept it basic? Curious to know how you compare eating experiences and which you prefer the most. Another 20 minutes well-spent, my dear friends. As always, keep, keepin' on. We appreciate you travels and efforts. Just the Zorba-ish dancing in the car alone makes this a 5 star :)
Hey Dardin! Hardly anyone drinks like the Brits, we are in a world of our own on that front. But no, it is cold beer in Athens all the way. We are Android people, always have been, the Apple ecosystem has always worried us so we like to keep it more open sourced if we can. We could certainly do something about mobile services as we travel as we are finding it is more an art than a science at the moment. Greece is cool. We think the way to look at this is that Greece really is the basis for democracy of the world so there is a level of confidence that comes with that which the Greeks ooze! Another thing that we should have mentioned in a video is that we have never seen a city with so many book shops.... excuse the pun, but we think that speaks volumes for the place. Maybe Greek food is slightly less varied that Mexico but it is very high quality and we didn't have a single bad meal in Athens. We loved all the food. Best wishes to you Dardin! Neil & Sarah

I've never heard anyone address this specifically so it would be lovely to hear your point of view. Regarding Greece ...... it seems familiar in some ways. It seems much "cooler" a place to visit. And don't mean temperature but ambiance and the people. I can feel it is not as jovial or engaging as maybe some other places you've visited such as Mexico, etc. The food seems not as varied as Mexico, or maybe you guys just didn't have the gastronomic quaintness of a place like San Miguel de Allende (and the more favorable costs as well) and kept it basic? Curious to know how you compare eating experiences and which you prefer the most. Another 20 minutes well-spent, my dear friends. As always, keep, keepin' on. We appreciate you travels and efforts. Just the Zorba-ish dancing in the car alone makes this a 5 star :)

Hardly anyone drinks like the Brits, we are in a world of our own on that front. But no, it is cold beer in Athens all the way.
We are Android people, always have been, the Apple ecosystem has always worried us so we like to keep it more open sourced if we can. We could certainly do something about mobile services as we travel as we are finding it is more an art than a science at the moment.
Greece is cool. We think the way to look at this is that Greece really is the basis for democracy of the world so there is a level of confidence that comes with that which the Greeks ooze! Another thing that we should have mentioned in a video is that we have never seen a city with so many book shops.... excuse the pun, but we think that speaks volumes for the place.
Maybe Greek food is slightly less varied that Mexico but it is very high quality and we didn't have a single bad meal in Athens. We loved all the food.

Ohhhh Joanne.... we will hopefully have an EPIC video about how the weather impacted us in Athens! We were VERY impacted.... but we won't ruin the surprise. Hopefully video on that in 2 weeks time.
