I got here from a comment you left on another video. I like what you're doing. You have major balls to go to these neighborhoods not knowing what you're going to encounter and putting your safety in jeopardy to highlight what the news doesn't show. My only constructive criticism would be is maybe have a list of questions to ask your interviewees so you don't get caught up with nothing to say. Good content, stay safe. I subscribed. ✌
@@eddiefalcon8316 I have sent Billy Corben a few emails but I'm sure he gets plenty of emails from all kinds of people. Hopefully Paul Castronovo can have me on again one day and Billy will be listening.
I go to liberty city, opa locka, overtown and Miami Gardens all thr time And go into to hundreds of homes over the years and I find the people that live there to be fine people .
Thanks a bunch. One of the goals of the videos is to show the hidden gems of neighborhoods that don't get much positive press. There are good places to eat there, there are places to get a beer and so forth.
Wow...living in Kendal I was told about liberty city from a young age, but damn. I thought Opa Locka was a working class area like Hialeah.😳 Though, come to think of it, opa-locka always did have crime stories quite often on the news. I never thought anything of it because the whole damn city has crimes all the time. Many of them did stem from opa locka, upon further thought.🤔
Opa Locka has the largest Moorish Revival Architecture in the Western hemisphere build by American aviator Glenn Curtis inspired by the movie The Theif of Bagdad.
I lived in Opa Locka from 1970 to 1977; my side of the street was all cubans and the other side was all African American. Everybody got along back then.
I was seriously considering Liberty City but the Moorish architecture in Opa Locka really impressed me. I wanted to shed some light on it for it's overlooked by most people. Thanks for the comment, cheers.
If I do another episode in the Miami area, absolutely yes. Next episode will be in Detroit in August. With traveling being quite difficult I just might have to stay local. Regards
Well you didn't really spend much time in the rough parts, except walking up a few blocks in the triangle. You should have gone to 21st street or The Aptz. The documentary was very incomplete but I respect you as an upcoming film maker and I hope to see you grow more. I'm sure you will. Good luck to you.
Good point, what most people don't realize is that most of the violence that occurs in these neighborhoods is gang on gang violence so if you're not mixed up in that lifestyle, people will leave you alone.
Wow I lived in Miami my whole life and never knew that there was Moorish architecture in Opa-Locka. Very cool!
Lol friendly people. Interesting history lesson about Glenn Curtiss developing this area. Absolute aeronautical legend. Thanks
Classic video!!
Thanks! I can only imagine what that abandoned city hall would look like if it was refurbished. It would be on every magazine cover.

Thanks for the kind words, lots of the interviews in the early episodes were done spontaneously. Hopefully my skills will keep improving 😁
Can’t understand why this doesn’t have over 1M views. This is great.
thanks for watching, well this TH-cam algorithm is tricky if you like Opa Locka feel free to watch my latest episode in Iraq
@@mikenogozones I need to watch all of them. I heard you on 105.9 and immediately saved your TH-cam page. Maybe ask Billy Corben to assist?
